Rifle Scopes Athlon Cronus gen 1 BTR Glass quality

I purchased a 4.5x29 Cronus BTR Gen One about A year ago but was deployed so I couldn't use it until now . When I took it to the range I noticed the glass quality was poor at high magnification 20 plus.. Very milky And washed out. I would expect this for one of their lower end models . But this was not an inexpensive scope.Anyone else having this issue ?

New gun.

I'm going to finally shoot my Blackhole Weaponry/Columbia River Arms 6.5 creedmore tomorrow 11/07/2021.Was wondering about barrel break in.I was told to use copper jacketed ammo for the first 60 rds. and to clean the bore after each rd. through the first 10 then after each 5rds through the first 60.The barrel is a 24" stainless bull barrel with a full muzzle break.

Optics WTS Vortex

3x Micro Magnifier. It has been to the range once. Bought new about 2 months ago. Was on my AR pistol, which I sold so now I don’t need this. Comes with box, which is bent a bit because I didn’t realize it was under some heavy stuff, but all original factory stuff included.

Asking 235.00 shipped.

will accept Venmo, PP FF, USPS MO as forms of payment.

will have pics up later.

SOLD Gone

Original owner of the scope which has seen the light usage.

Works flawlessly and it does track without an issue. Mostly a safe queen.

Comes with scope in original box as well as scope caps.

No real marks or issues with the exception of the famed battery cap having slight rash.

Only reason I’m selling it is because I just sold the rifle it was on.

(Picture will be posted.)

$2600.00 or BO plus shipping.

Home coffee roasters

I saw another member, @Belt fed , made a comment in the Aeropress thread about roasting your own. My wife noticed I had become a little obsessive about coffee about a year ago and bought me a gift assortment of green coffee beans and a grinder for christmas. We had an air popper that got retasked as a roaster and I havent looked back since. Very satisfying to order small amounts of beans from far away places and roast them yourself. I have learned a lot in the last year.

For the record, the first bag out of my gift box of green coffee beans has turned into my favorite, Dominican Republic Ramirez Estate Honey processed beans. At first the flavors from these beans were overwhelming to my folgers tainted palate but it is what I have come to expect from my coffee now. I cant even drink grocery store coffee anymore. Anyone else roast their own?

KRG Bravo

How well are you impressed from your personal experience?

It seems like a nice setup, modularity, price, everything most people seem to be raving about... all legit

My biggest concern is how will the forearm hold up with temp extremes. I happen to live in an area where it can get as high as 100 but also as bad as minus 35

Realizing this isn’t specifically Kydex, but I’ve seen a lot of Kydex and polymer get brittle and break or crack... it’s an issue... not always, but one never knows

The other thing I see about this system that a lot of people seem to have commented about is feeding, especially the 700’s, getting the magwell dialed in good for reliability and rounds catching under the receiver below the feed ramp. Although anyone running Magpul AICS mags does not seem to be reporting this issue.

Ever had your action in another quality stock, swap into the Bravo, and see any improvement or degradation?

Is the system really rigid enough, and what have you experienced recoil wise due to the difference in resonance?

700 Bolt issue

Hope this is the right forum
Got a great like new 1980s LH 270 BDL
Son did reloads for me.
Shot a couple factory bullets to foul the barrell first before trying the reloads
2nd shot must have had bad primer as I got blow back
Now bolt is very hard to close once another round is chambered
And will not eject any ammo?
I use a pushrod to extract round. Tried several different brands
Thoroughly cleaned rifle today and same issue after cleaning

Ideas?Suggestions? What happened and how to fix?
Thanks

Which suppressor, but with a twist...

I'd like to hear some opinions on this...

I'm building my perfect forever rifle. It's a handy not-too-heavy bolt-action precision rig modeled after my current budget version that slowly evolved over the last 15 years. It's used around the farm and at an occasional long-range match (for fun and to get better, I don't want the rifle's form to be motivated by winning matches).

It has a 20" barrel, short action, built with top-notch components. The barrel's a Remington Varmint profile.

My old rifle that this is replacing (that's similar but not so top-notch) has a 9" SAS suppressor with a TOMB. The 9" suppressor's longer than I like.

I'm also tired of switching it back and forth to an 8" SBR.

I did my homework a while back and ordered a Dominus for the new rifle. By my reckoning it seems to be a perfect match for what I'm trying to build. It currently sits in jail.

The balance of compactness and the suppression of the Dominus really sold me on it, along with TBAC's reputation for having a quality product.

Since I've been waiting, I've been reading. Reading always costs me money, haha. Most threads like this one seem to favor the Ultra 7 for what I'm doing. From what I've read here, even the boss man from TBAC himself (Hi, Zack!) seems to favor the Ultra 7 for precision bolt rifle applications.

So, I'm wondering if there's something that I didn't consider. I like the fact that the Dominus is shorter than the 7 Ultra. The size difference is more important on this sort of build as opposed to a dedicated 25 pound 10' prs build. Also, I'm not the tallest dude in the world (I'm 5'7"). While the Dominus is a little fatter, I think I'm going to be impressed by how much lighter and shorter it is than my current can.

It sounds like the Ultra 5 wouldn't offer enough suppression for my tastes.

What I'd like to avoid is hopping back in NFA line several months down the road. I'm still about eight months out on this can (NFA trust laws changed since my last purchase, took me forever to figure it out, yada yada yada, that's another story and blood pressure pill).

If you all convince me that the 7 Ultra will be a better fit for reasons that I've not considered, the Dominus might have a cell mate for a while.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts...

The squirrels are next……

I wonder if this means I should take more than one.

.223 federal brass

So I'm extremely new to reloading. Just bought everything I'll need to start out loading .223 I was looking into buying brass, but before the pandemic I bought 2,000 rounds of federal 62 grain fmjs. Fired about 1000 rounds of it. I was inspecting the brass that I fired, and noticed that not one case was 1.750 or longer. Measured about 100 and they are all in the 1.73s. about 50 we're exactly 1.738. is this common with federal brass? Would you fellas reload them? And will consistency be effected at all? Thanks

Glass advice

This winter’s project is to put a .22 together for the Modern Arms Rimfire Series (MARS) and I’m not sure what the best way to go is. I picked up a B14r steel BA from a fellow hide member a few weeks ago and have a MDT ACC chassis on the way. I’ve never been at a match but I have been talking with a few people about it. I’m told to be prepared for anything from 1/4” targets at 30 yards to targets out to 300 yards. I really have no idea what scope would be a good fit. I have experience with a Razor on one rifle, a XTR on another and a Mark 6 on the 3rd rifle. The XTR is my least favorite and it’s a toss up between the Razor and Mark 6. I don’t think any of the 3 would be a good choice for the B14r though. So what would be a good pick for $2k or under? The only requirements I have are Mil and FFP since that’s what my other ones are and that’s what I’m used to. I was also told it should be able to go to at least 10 power or higher. Suggestions would be appreciated so I don’t make an expensive mistake.
