    A buddy of mine is getting serious about shooting and is asking about higher end glass. I just saw Nighforce being compared to Toyota and it got me thinking....

    Tangent Theta- Ferrari
    ZCO- Lamborghini
    Nightforce- Vette
    S&B- Porsche
    Kahles- Audi
    Vortex- Toyota/Lexus
    IOR- Yugo
    Quigley Ford- Bugatti

    Thoughts?

    Damn dude. Do tell. I was thinking of picking up a k624i since used prices are pretty good.

    624s are actually pretty decent. I had 3 318s and had to send 2 back. 1 had to go back 2 twice.... Buddy had to send his 318 back too. 525 glass is a joke 624 glass is better imo

    I did look through a 525 mid last year after asking the feller if I could "play with his Impact action" and had to hold my tongue. At least on his 525, the glass was almost... amber or yellowed in a way? Could have just been a lighting condition but I was like... yeesh, isn't this thing $3500? Did like the Impact action though... so... job done. Went back to my $500 Nikon FX1000 and continued my life.

    NF is already Toyota, why give it Vette? Plus, a vette is just a model meaning NF would be Chevy in your comparison.

    NF = Toyota/Lexus cause their shit doesn't break, not flashy, doesn't always have the latest
    Vortex = CDJR or Stelantis Group, they have decent products and very good marketing.

    What is up with the kahles haters? They are excellent optics. I have a few and I have the other top shelf optics too. Different scopes look differently to each set of eyes, no need to crap all over widely used and solid glass. I don't have any allegiances to any manufacturer but I hate for a newb to see this stuff and not get a kahles because of it because they are great scopes flat out.

    while the analogy is pretty funny , Id still take my 5.8 x40 over the double the price a friend paid for a zco and it's hardly a Lamborghini except in cost maybe , if your eyes can tell the differance between them or the snb your eyes are better than mine cause I could not see any major improvements but going from a 34mm to a 40mm I can see a huge differance in the extra light difference glass wise not so much but on mans yugo is another mans not having to walk after every shot to actually see his shots .

    I've never looked through a ZCO, but how many people can really notice a difference in performance between a ZO6 and an Aventador? Very few, I'd guess. Less than 1% end up on the track and maybe 1% of those that do pushed to the edge of their capability.

    I shoot Steiner, mostly. Anything over $1500 or so is a case of rapidly diminishing returns, just like anything else.

    It's pretty well documented all over this sight how bad the 525 is. There are also lots of people who have had similar issues to mine with the 318....no way they should be considered top teir... No hate just facts

    Nah.... I wouldn't agree about the 525i. There's a few folks that always complain about CA with the 525i, but that's it. There's a ton of guys who run them and they sell for $2500 on here fast. In fact, they are probably the easiest scope to sell. Maybe a good price on a zco sells faster but that's it, maybe. Kahles is definitely top tier glass, TT and ZCO and some SnB are above it in glass, and that's it,but again glass is super subjective.

    Kahles glass turns yellow when bullshitters look through them . 😆

    KAHLES MASTER RACE !

    Vortex = Hyundai/Kia. One hell of a warranty that you're gonna need. But hey, they will fix it.

    ZCO = Maclaren
    NF = Shelby
    TT = Ferrari
    Kahles = Lamborghini
    Swarovski = Mercedes
    Athlon = Toyota
    SB = Audi

    Haha! The Chinese are doing supercars now? It’s like a random hodgepodge of Chinese knockoff parts that almost hit the mark. The ass is a saleen s7, the headlights are Ferrari f458 But upside down and flipped… I know I’ve seen those wheels before, but back in the 90s, so it’s been a little while.

    Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness, I suppose.
