I mostly agree. The Toybaru twins are an exception, even if they're not impressive on paper the concept of simple relatively lightweight RWD cars hits me right in the feels, GTI's are still some of the most practical funmobiles you can get, shitboxes turned hooligan like the GR Yaris remind me of better times. But yeah, modern cars mostly suck and have no soul, especially from the brand that brought us the E28/E30 through E46/E39 magic.Cars peaked around '05 IMHO with the Carrera GT, 360 Challenge Stradale, 996 GT3, C6Z06, E60 M5, E46 M3, Subaru STi, EVO 9MR (just to index some different price points). No current new cars interest me. Everything is coalescing around meaningless metrics for "car guys" who can't change their own oil.
