Open Youtube today and there's the guy's face. I'm sure the newspapers and Tv news are the same. As long as they keep making these people famous it will continue to be monkey see, monkey do. The media has made this the norm, it's just what you do. Which is exactly what they want. When pushing your agenda helps your viewership, it's a win-win.
I really do not know who that was. I do know from what I've seen in my area, I'd never join in a mass shooting response without a badge and uniform.

From personal experience I'd never trust a cop not to murder me in an emergency.
For nearly 20 years I worked just down the road from a regional police academy, it was fine and we let them use our property for training all the time.................................................................until one fucking day, in broad fucking daylight, a deranged cop skidded to a stop while I was getting the mail and bailed out of the car and held me at gunpoint. I'm white, middle aged, in a work polo shirt with the same fucking name as the 8ft by 12ft sign in front of me. This demented cop was running on about 3 of 8 cylinders, his eyes were fully dilated and he was sweating profusely. He was screaming his ass off and demanding I get on the ground. His hands were shaking and he looked like he was about to shit himself. It looked like a mental breakdown.
Lucky for me, I've seen a gun before and I remained calm. A second officer skidded to a stop, not knowing anything about what was happening and jumped out of his car gun drawn. One screamed, "get your hands up!!!! and other screamed, "get on the ground!!!!!" Now we have two screaming assholes pointing guns at me and danger close to shooting me and both of them are screaming different things at me. Doing anything would get me shot.
After literally 90 seconds, these two assholes stopped screaming, stupidly looked at each other and asked what I was doing there. I pointed to the mail box and explained how people got mail from the post office and that it had been happening since Ben fucking Franklin invented it. Yeah, I was a dick. Then they demanded ID, I told them to go fuck themselves, since it was in my pocket and they had guns pointed at me. I offered to let them get it themselves since it was unsafe to put my hands down in front of two obvious fucking retards, yeah I said that. I also requested they contact the academy supervisor by name, which only made them more deranged.
When all was said and done, officer #1 apologized and said, "I saw you had a radio and thought you needed help." He admitted he was going to kill me to "help me". Perfect. I moved on a couple of years later and my replacement was a decent black guy who had worked for me for several years.
He had a similar incident. While working one night he called in a copper thief prowling the property. Same department responded, he was talking to 911, directing them in and offered to meet them at the gate. The responding psychos held him at gun point, in fucking work clothes, wearing a logo hardhat and shirt, carrying a flashlight and cell phone. They nearly killed the first person they saw for no apparent reason, while the dispatcher is screaming at them to stop trying to kill the guy who called.
For decades we had a great relationship with the training facility and our guys liked seeing them around and helping out with training. They are now banned from coming on the property and most people are not willing to call them for fear of being murdered by cops, especially after hours. That business uses private security patrols now.

When I was part of a Special Operations unit in the military we would occasionally help the local combined area Swat team do active shooter training for all the local cops in the area.
Since doing that, I have concluded that one of the most dangerous places on earth is around your average cop who has his weapon out.
Your average cop is so out of their depth it isn't even comprehensible by the average citizen. They are barely suited to not fuck up writing a traffic ticket.

It's the same with a 5.56 to the chest wearing body armor - someone who reads about it, is untrained and unfit, will find themselves bruised and knocked down while a 200 pound trained pro will feel the punch and work right thru that. One size does not fit all. Fitness and training *and* proper gear gets results. Just buying/wearing body armor does not make one invincible. It will make them a much harder target.

You should read on what happen when the RCMP ERT responded to an active shooter in Nova Scotia ... it's the most horrific read. They opened up on civilians multiple times and the only reason that there wasn't more innocent killed was due to the extraordinary poor marksmanship.

Agreed, I haven't been to range in WAAAY too long; but when I go, it takes about 1 hour of prep time if I'm going with rifle & pistol. I also tend to load mags before I go, so I can get in and out before it gets crowded.

Sounds like cards were stacked against this fucker who didn't have a dad, had a mom on drugs, statistically he was primed to be a disaster. His grandfather was also a felon and it was up to abuela to raise this headcase who dropped out 2 years ago and was already highly unstable. Of course all the sanitariums got shut down, decent mental healthcare is a commodity in this country - let alone in poor, immigrant backwaters in the ass-end of Texas. On the flipside no matter how much so-called normalization happens surrounding mental health: it is still a huge stigma in just about every population especially males. Add on the fact that the government will gladly trample your rights and send cops to kill your ass if you pop on their radar for mental health...far less likely to have things done. And to further this thought, parenting skills matter too, and it seems abuela did love the little devil but just buying him shit and paying his bills is not how you enable anything other than worse behavior.
So this kid was setup for failure. That is what happens when you have a collapse of families, communities, societies and things like religion and moral code is replaced by consumerism and other fleeting bullshit. Lot's of things to blame there, it has been happening for a long time, and the ship as really sailed as everyone is dragged in one way or another into this post-modern clown world we live in.
The other string to pull is the importance of following SOP and that if you want to implement a defense-in-depth strategy it is only as strong as the weakest part. From all accounts with the "up to date" intel it seems that this fucking asshole was talking about shooting up the school and shot abuela in her face. The cops chase this cocksucker, he wrecks, which calls the attention of the SRO who I **think** was in the school? He runs out and immediately takes rounds from this devil who is hopped up on adrenaline and demonic energy and comes in through the door. That is an assumption though based on what I heard - but it makes sense as only one door was open.
That said - there was not an alarm sounded to the school, the fencing was waist high and the doors did not auto-lock. Once you're on the inside the locked doors inside the classes (they weren't locked) don't mean shit. You saw how good that did at VT, with people literally forming a meat shield on the other side of the door while Sum Dum Guy shot through it with a .40 caliber to prevent him from making entry.
I get the whole idea to make schools a harder target, but if you want to do it, there are reprecussions. Do you want your kids going into state prison camps? I mean what they teach them now is to be a fucking gender-bender and now I have to trust the state to place their Agents who don't exactly have a good track record to protect it? Also SROs are usually bench warmers or some other BOLO'ed fuckface. I don't want some guy riding out his 20 with a sidearm - I want a real fucking killer with a long gun. Goes back to the defund the PDs thing - do I like the Agents of the State? Fuck no. That said, I'd rather them be better funded to go to cool DARC schools and other CQB and marksmanship schools, know great first aid/CLS fundamentals, know how to use and coordinate over comms and fucking make T-Box shots on these cocksuckers.
And to close this long ass rant, the whole idea of running into an active shooter situation is crazy. Even if you follow Pat Mac's logic of having a road guard vest or some shit on - have any of you seen average cops? Here on the east coast the Staties, sheriffs, and beat walkers in the NYPD are all skittish as fuck. Like coming up with a hand on their gun even if I have the engine off, lights on, windows down with my hands out the window. The average cop is an underpaid fuckface, likely who has some authority problem, because who actually "protects and serves" shit and has shitty training and mindset to match. Then you tell them some mad fucker is armed to the teeth and shooting kids and they have to flush him out? What do you think they're going to do when they see your fat-50-soething-year-old-ass waddle over there with your HHV helmet, Agilite plate carrier and SR-15? That's right - put a big series of holes in your ass.
So either way you weigh this, there is not an easy fix and no legistlation, sanitarium, doctors, bans, more cops or whatever else will prevent evil. As long as the Devil draws breath and the Great Kahuna doesn't kickoff evil will exist. The only way to fight evil is hope you're close by and can make t-box shots under fire and that you put your shit away before the cops get there and kill you anyway.

Looks like the police waited an hour to make an entry to confront the shooter. It was the BORTAC agent who made a singleton contested entry. The police were in a running gunfight and then just refused to reengage.
I know - this won't shock anyone, but I haven't heard a single new station mention his trans status. (Heck- Are we even using the right pronouns?). Fox just said he was mental with lots of flags but the only specifics were that he was eyeliner, stopped going to class, and cut himself once.
I've seen this situation more and more, usually in less than desirable areas where the parents are out of the picture due to drugs or prison and the grandparents are raising their crotchfruit.

One old man that lived on my street in S. Austin had to carry pepper spray to keep his bastard grandson from attacking him in his own home.
He got pissed off when his grandson got arrested for burglarizing my house, not at his grandson but at me.

I saw on a couple outlets that those tranny pictures that came out weren’t this guy. They were some other confused man who thinks he’s a girl. 4chan originated the pictures. So while the shooter may not be a tranny, he’s still comes from a broken home, got bullied most his life, has violent tendencies ect ect ect… the typical posterboy for these types of things
