Together with Matjaz Svetek (benchrest.si) we have a made a MilDot slide ruler that calculates the range to target: it is made with sniping competitions in mind where laser range finders are not allowed.
You can also think of it as an analogue alternative to your laser: it does not break, does not need batteries and it does not give your position away. We have made it to a disc to save space and still have room to make the scales longer which adds accuracy.
https://roundmildot.com/product/roundmildot-us-imperial-calculator-a-grade/

To operate you need to know the size of the target in inches (be it IPSC target size, width of traffic sign, height of a car or a window etc) and measure how many MILs is the target in your sight and the calculator will instantly give you the range in yards.
As this calculator has been made for competitions, the largest size on the target scale is 40 yd. Should you need 60 you can just use 30 on the calculator and double the range.

The price is 36 € which is roughly 41 $ (cost of shipping included).

The metric version has been out for 5 years now. I have just received the test round of the "Imperial" version (inches/yards) of 25 units. I am willing to give those first 25 units away with half the price to anyone who posts a review of it here to snipershide.com. If this is what you want to do, then please use a coupon "shreview" and the price will be discounted. This offer last until the first lot has been sold. Please keep your part of the deal and post a review here.
Thank you!

In part the round mil dots main feature over competition is that it was designed to handle practical sized targets and ranges . New gen uses laser engraving front (black)instead of print for better accuracy and durabilty. Design is sized so that it fits into pockets and flexibilty of the material means it will not break

different gens in metric/mil configuration handle targets 10-100cm in width and 100-1200m ,slope dope corrections and back features typical targets sizes etc..

I received one and am currently testing/ reviewing it. Few initial observations which I will send to the maker first and then I will be making a post here and on Precision Rifle Shooter Ireland FB page. I will be using it at a comp in the UK before the new year also.

Mildotmaster is borderline useless for practical targets and ranges as it deals with too large of a mil reading. It basicaly tops out at 1mil , practical targets are typical under half a mil , round mil dot goes down to 0.1mil also much smaller target.

50+% of the mildot master deals with target ither at pointblank range or target size beyond practical.

The mildot master does work below 1 mil, read the instructions. Use the righthand side window and line up the tgt size(bullet drop) with the numbers on the right of the righthand window side (mils)..ie it goes down to 0.3 mils.

Well, I ordered mine on the 10th of December and have not received it yet.
All the orders I got on the 10th were posted on the 11th: so 10 working days have passed up until today. The holidays take a way quite a few working days, so I hope they will arrive by he 4th of January.

I probably have some bad news for some of you guys (Prebanpaul, ReaperMedic and few others): the calculators I posted during 10-13th December might not reach your mail boxes: I have tested different envelopes to see if I could send the calculators to USA as a regular airmail or as "minipackage" (enevelope sized package). As it appears whenever I use bubble envelopes they will be posted as small packages and the postal cost will triple. These packages also require custom declarations while regular mail does not. During 10-13 Dec. I was in South of Estonia and used a local small post office and they did not ask me to fill the custom declarations for the items I posted. Now I have tested the same envelopes in the central post office and they always require custom declaration to be filled. I asked today what happens if I just post the envelope without the declaration: they said the packages will come back to sender.
I am learning as I go here - I have not posted the calculators to US before. I can send new calculator but only after I receive the new print run, which should be (hopefully) in the end of first week on January.
Long story short:
I am not sure if those calculators posted between 10-13 Dec. will arrive to destination or not? What I propose is: I will then post new calculators to everyone with double the quantity (one for free) after about week from now. So if the original package does come through you will get this for free also. I hope this compensates for the long waiting period (which I probably hate as much as you do). I am sorry about this situation.

I received mine yesterday. It appears to be very nice. I can wait until the spring when I can really really use this thing. I have been playing around with it. It seems well made.
Prebanpaul: could you kindly let me know what was the date I replied to you that the calculator was posted?
I can not bring peoples actual names on the order and username here @ snipershide together - I would like to know which postage date has now arrived to US? Thank you!

I see from above that you ordered on the 10th of December. I posted those calculators on the evening of the 10th and they were sent from small "countryside" post office where they did not ask me to fill the customs declaration: if your package came through then this probably means that everyone else should also get theirs soon. This is good news! Thank you for letting me/us know.

Guys, deal with Mattias with confidence. I've had one for a while and have been passing it around to several friends getting their opinion on it and any improvements that can be made. For milling it works as advertised and is as simple to use as a mildot master. The cosine angle calculator also works as advertised, I did find the built in slope doper to be convenient but does take some practice to get good at. The added benefits of the little reminders, such as wind speed flag method, using mirage, wind/mover values all are handy in some situations. Its a good well made product, seems to stand up to the elements well and user friendly.

There are still 7 calculators left in stock from the first lot: they are on offer with 1/2 price to anyone willing to do a public review of the Round MilDot calculator. Please use the coupon "shreview" as mentioned in post #1.

Deal with confidence, mluha is great to deal with!
I just received mine... it's very well thought out and of quality construction. There are great directions with pictures on how to use it posted on his website.
Unfortunately we are in the middle of a lovely polar vortex so a field review will have to wait for another day.
Outstanding product!
