Together with Matjaz Svetek (benchrest.si) we have a made a MilDot slide ruler that calculates the range to target: it is made with sniping competitions in mind where laser range finders are not allowed.
You can also think of it as an analogue alternative to your laser: it does not break, does not need batteries and it does not give your position away. We have made it to a disc to save space and still have room to make the scales longer which adds accuracy.

To operate you need to know the size of the target in inches (be it IPSC target size, width of traffic sign, height of a car or a window etc) and measure how many MILs is the target in your sight and the calculator will instantly give you the range in yards.
As this calculator has been made for competitions, the largest size on the target scale is 40 yd. Should you need 60 you can just use 30 on the calculator and double the range.
The price is 36 € which is roughly 41 $ (cost of shipping included).
The metric version has been out for 5 years now. I have just received the test round of the "Imperial" version (inches/yards) of 25 units. I am willing to give those first 25 units away with half the price to anyone who posts a review of it here to snipershide.com. If this is what you want to do, then please use a coupon "shreview" and the price will be discounted. This offer last until the first lot has been sold. Please keep your part of the deal and post a review here.
Thank you!
