Since you seem to like KAC, why not an SR-15, MOD 2, LPR?I've got tons of Custom high end builds in the collection, I'm looking for something factory out of the box that would be fun to evaluate.
Since you seem to like KAC, why not an SR-15, MOD 2, LPR?
It has a somewhat lighter contour Kreiger barrel than the MOD 1, but I've never seen a full evaluation of the MOD 2.
I have a MOD 1 with the slighter heavier Kreiger barrel & the UXR 3.1 handguard; the MOD 2 also has an M-LOK handguard.
Mine is good for an out of the box gun, doing 10 shots under MOA, eats anything, functions 100%.
But obviously, anything KAC is surely not cheap anymore, not that it ever was really cheap.

Hmmm, didn't know that; it still shows on their website.
When did they stop offering it?

I knew where there was one at about a month ago. NIB too but it's gone now...
Seekins 6ARC or LMT 6ARCHey Guys..
I'm looking to pick another rifle but I'm running low on ideas. Precision and reliability are still the main priorities, but I'm open to any ideas and was hoping y'all may know something I don't.
Here is a list of what I already own or have already done extensive testing on, also a few I'm not interested in at all.
Right now the only Large Frame rifle I can think of that would be worth buying is the Geissele MRGG. For a Small Frame the RD-15 LPR, but if I were to buy the LPR I'd probably pull the .223 Proof Research SS barrel and install a 18" - 20" Bartlein in 6ARC.

Yes on the Spear. It’s. Ok. Was more fond of it initially. Now. Ok. 277 would be fun to play with if the price of the good ammo wasn’t $5/rnd. A Spear with 13.5 277, 13.5 6.5cm and a 13.5 8.6BLK barrels would make for some fun stuff.Thank you all for the suggestions, but I'm really trying to find something that isn't your typical AR.
Anyone have any time behind the Sig MCX Spear Or Sword international ?

Noveske goes deep into the barrel here:I’m kind of in the same boat. Looking at 6ARC just to try it out and see what the hype is and then I saw a video of the Noveske 6ARC coming out around Shot25 with their new DDF (disruptive deep flute) structured barrel. So I’m gonna try that out in 18” whenever they open up sales.View attachment 8511309
Yes and not well balanced. Feels odd’ishI've heard the .308 is kind of a pig, dose it feel heavy?
I’m sure they’ll just love the price of this new barrel. Think they are going to be offering them in various lengths and calibers.A lot of people complain about the price of Noveske barrels but I've always had exceptional results with thier SS Barrels, I'd probably pick up a DD or Criterion if I was going Chrome lined.
I'm always watching for deals on Noveske SS barrels, and when I find a decent deal I just order to have on hand.
The rumor is the LPR is being replaced with a KAC 6ARC concept.KAC doesn't make the LPR anymore.
That would be a great option, if not going with a 5.56.The rumor is the LPR is being replaced with a KAC 6ARC concept.

Problem is, of course, a big WHEN? KAC doesn't move very fast.
Despite the Fanbois on one end & the Haters on the other end, I don't find much not to like about KAC's small frame rifles except the cost.

Have you looked at the NEMO Nitemare? Who doesn't need an 8" 300 winmag in a gas gun? I've shot their Omen, wow, what a joy to shoot.Hey Guys..

But seriously, Nemo makes a very nice rifle and their Battle- Light 22arc is a very nice.
Hoping for something promising outta the SOLGW 6.5cm V2 14.5"So I was able to track down a SOLGW 18" Broadsword in 6ARC at a very reasonable price.
I honestly don't have much experience with SOLGW, I know they seem to make a quality product at mid pack pricing.
Anyone here have time behind thier Match barrels? I like thier Barrel Contours and the fact they use 5/8x24 threads on thier 5.56 barrels.
The Geissele MRGG is still my #1 pick for the new Large Frame purchase and I think it would be fun to do a side-by-side against the Larue MRGG.
The broadsword isn't my small frame pick, just a side bonus.
The Geissele Stratomatch interest me but doesn't seem to offer much that I can't build at home, I've also heard good things about the Geissele Cut Rifled Barrels from Hollinger and a few others.
I have this 20" CLE Match Chamber Bartlein spun up by Craddock that I haven't even shot yet, I could just easily swap it out for a Craddock 6ARC Bartlein .

I'll be doing some load development in two weeks and ill definitely post my findings. I've been hearing good things about their new precision barrels. Very interested to here your thoughts on how they stack up against the big dogs!Nice!! Let us know
As far as the SOLGW comments... be careful as to which barrel you might get. As far as my feeble mind can attempt to understand, some match barrels are Ballistic Advantage, and some are BHW.So I was able to track down a SOLGW 18" Broadsword in 6ARC at a very reasonable price.

Like this? The rumor is the LPR is being replaced with a KAC 6ARC concept.
Great info here. The BHW barrels sound like a huge improvement over the old BA barrels. As far as the SOLGW comments... be careful as to which barrel you might get. As far as my feeble mind can attempt to understand, some match barrels are Ballistic Advantage, and some are BHW.
Poking around a little, some links say 1n8 twist, some say 1n7.
The barrels that say ..
6mm ARC
416 Stainless Steel
SPR Profile
1:8 Twist
5/8×24 Threaded Muzzle
.750″ Gas Block Journal
Black Oxide Finish
3 Groove Polygonal Rifling
Are most likely ( IMHO ) to be BHW.
I can't tell if SOLGW is transitioning from Ballistic Advantage completely, or offering the BHW as a step up.
Just something to watch for.
If you decide to get a SOLGW upper or complete rifle... all my "standard" AR small frame lowers, SOLGW uppers are a VERY snug fit, through a obvious improvement with various other brand lowers.
Very snug, means on various BCM lowers... I had to slap the upper loose from the BCM lower.
"Others" the fit between the SOLGW upper and the various lowers, showed a better fit. I tried the SOLGW uppers on all the brands of lowers I had.
I would be curious if the BroadSword has a tight fit , upper to lower, like SOLGW standard uppers.
All my SOLGW uppers have had a Thermal fit as well.. Just sayin'.
While a lot of folks that upper to lower fit doesn't matter, IMHO it does make it easier to wield more consistently.
And for those that want to say, upper to lower fit doesn't matter at all, and want to use the infamous USArmy test as proof... remember that test considered 7Moa and less groups to be good enough for the tests parameters.
I'm hoping you get a couple of Geissele 6ARC rifles and tell us all about them.
I put a big scope on a friend's Geissele 5.56 16" Super Duty (that has never even been cleaned) and with MK 262 turned it into a half-MOA gun.
As a result, I'm considering retiring.
Radian said they will be releasing a 6ARC very soon. Considering how awesome their Shaw-blank-based heavy barrels are, this could be an amazing shooter.I think I can do that, I was going to pick up a SOLGW 6ARC Broadsword but found another smoking deal on a FDE Radian MOD 1, I'll pull the .223 barrel and swap it with a 20" Bartlein in 6ARC, then I'll have something to compare against the Geissele Stratomatch and it's Cut Rifled Barrel.
Will you be shooting Hornady factory Ammo?
I hear Geisselle barrels are the best kept secret in accuracy.I'm hoping you get a couple of Geissele 6ARC rifles and tell us all about them.

Do you sell these cheap after testing or you just have rifles coming out your ears ?I think I can do that, I was going to pick up a SOLGW 6ARC Broadsword but found another smoking deal on a FDE Radian MOD 1, I'll pull the .223 barrel and swap it with a 20" Bartlein in 6ARC, then I'll have something to compare against the Geissele Stratomatch and it's Cut Rifled Barrel.
I don't purposely beat on or trash any of my rifles unless that's thier specific purpose, so normally they still look like new when I'm done.D

What are your favorites ?And yes I have one or two toys in my collection..lol

You are correct, the LPR was indeed discontinued. We will meet the existing backorders for them, but there is no planned production past that.I'll tag in a KAC rep @Jack_L
Perhaps I'm wrong, but I was under the impression KAC is no longer producing the LPR and there's currently no plans to bring it back. If I'm wrong, Jack can correct me.

This has been on my radar for a couple of years. They started selling the barrels individually a couple of months ago. Muzzle devices are excellent.

I've also had my eye on those X2 Dev Group Trident barrels. Those soon to be released Noveske deep flute barrels seem to be designed around similar principles to the X2 barrels
The main thing that I'm looking at with the X2 is the significant weight savings. The 16" is coming in just under 22oz which puts it 5oz under the weight of a Proof CF barrel.
The downside is obviously the price. $550 is quite a bit of coin for a button rifled barrel with extreme fluting and a nitride coating. The accuracy is promising though. I've had some good conversations with Ernie, the owner and lead designer at X2. He goes into a lot of detail about the design and manufacturing of these barrels if you reach out to him on Instagram chat. He sent me some group pictures from a recent QC shoot they did as well. I attached the pictures below. I think these were done with 77gr SMK's of some flavor.
I'd love to see a 5x5 or a molon style 30rd group
I saw them the other day, definitely flirting with the price range of some high end barrel offerings.
I'll hit them up and see if they would be interested in me doing a review on here.
