problem with ejecting wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr

Re: problem with ejectin wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr Maybe things have been changed slightly as my gun is an older model pre-accutrigger and yours looks to be pretty new. I bought my gun used about 5-6 years ago...

problem with ejecting wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr

Re: problem with ejectin wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr There was a little bit of space, between the bolt face and the extractors, on my bolt; and, it wasn't extracting very good at all. Even when it was freshly cleaned it wouldn't eject a live round; and, it would only eject some of the fired...

problem with ejecting wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr

Re: problem with ejectin wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr That's exactly what you do; just pinch it a bit and retry it. On my gun, before I realized that the "C" spring was backward, I even sharpened the right (looking down the gun) extractor 'claw' to give it a little more grip.

Your opinion? Hornady LNL AP vs RCBS Pro 2000 Auto

Re: Your opinion? Hornady LNL AP vs RCBS Pro 2000 Auto I voted for the Hornady L-N-L; but, that is the only progressive I have experience with... I've had mine for a few years and the only problem I've had is the ejection problem listed above. I do believe Hornady recently (withing the last...

problem with ejecting wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr

Re: problem with ejectin wolf ammo Savage BTV .22lr Sounds like an extraction problem. You may need to tighten the extractor "C" spring on your bolt. If you do, make sure that the "C" spring doesn't get installed backward... or if it's a used gun make sure you didn't get the gun with the "C"...

Savage Mark II TR Range Trip

Re: Savage Mark II TR Range Trip Nice looking gun. And good choice with a Savage, they shoot nice for what you pay. I had a CZ 452 American .22LR that I put in the Boyds Tacticool stock and I could never get comfortable behind it (just like you mentioned); until, I added a Karsten cheek...

    DTACs jammed?

Re: DTACs jammed? This is some good information as I am preparing to develop a .243Win load using 115DTACs. I'll be watching to see what most people seem to find works for them.

Which 4-16 to mount on my Savage TR

Re: Which 4-16 to mount on my Savage TR No experience with the Nikon but that Millet is a pretty big scope for such a small gun. With that said, I used to have one on my Savage MKII and it worked great for it.

    lee aniversary kit

Re: lee aniversary kit I started out with a Lee Anniversary kit; but, the press eventually ended up breaking. I still use some Lee reloading equipment but I would recommend against that particular press. Like Fuzball recommended, I'd go with the Lee Classic Cast over the press in the...

    Swagers..... A review

Re: Swagers..... A review +1 on the Dillon... That's what I bought and it works great! The work is a little tedious but, that's just part of the reloading game.

EGW or DIP Rimfire Scope Mount

Re: EGW or DIP Rimfire Scope Mount I just bought a EGW for a Savage SA and while it does work, I don't care for the way it overhangs past the action covering the barrel nut. This doesn't hurt functionality of the mount but it does make it so you will HAVE to remove the mount to access the...

    308 Subsonic drop calc

Re: 308 Subsonic drop calc Just retried the 5.5gr load. I loaded 3 rounds but I didn't use a crimp, I just made sure to tip the gun back before shooting; and all the round fired. The velocities were: 791, 768, 829fps. The updated target: The fastest shot was the highest shot and all three...

    308 Subsonic drop calc

Re: 308 Subsonic drop calc I just loaded up 3 rounds at 5.1gr of TiteGroup; and I set up the chronograph. I seated the bullets just deep enough to cover the cannelure and I gave them a moderate crimp with a Lee FDC. The first round did not exit the barrel; so, after I cleared the bullet, I...

    308 Subsonic drop calc

Re: 308 Subsonic drop calc Well, I tried the load... I am not getting reliable results between 5.1-5.3gr. I am having some bullets not making it out of the barrel (24" 1in10" twist savage). The couple that did work @ 5.1gr were real quiet but up @ 5.5gr they are quite a bit louder. Also, the...
