Is it worth keeping a 308 around?

I reload 2 .308’s both with 26” tubes. The Rem 700 has a 1/10 twist heavy bbl and the Sako TRG 1/11 1/4. They both shoot one hole groups with the same loads. I use IMR 4064 on 175 SMK’s, and Varget on 165, 168 Barnes. I use both powders on 155 LaPua Scenars. Giving the cartridge volume...

Looking to getting in to reloading

There’s some of the guys at Bandera Gun club that used one for 223 loads but I still load one at a time and use electronic powder trickler & scale.

Looking to getting in to reloading

Exactly I had 2 beam scales and spare press I gave all but one scale to beginner but I use an electric trickler and scale now because it’s faster . However I still handload using a Pacific Multi C press I’ve had over 50 years.

Looking to getting in to reloading

Your per round savings will be less until you factor in time, travel, equipment, powder, Bullets, etc plus shooting more. We reloaded shooting Competition Skeet finally figured that with practice, competition, fees, guns, shells, equipment, etc that every Registered Target was at least $1 each...

Best load for 22-250 for coyotes

Varget mostly but it also liked H380. Play with your projectile to tighten group , factory bbl had a throat.

    Is John Bolton a snake?

Politicians according to my Govt Teacher years ago are “ Liars, Cheats, & Thieves”! It’s unreal these clowns cannot keep their mouths shut & stay out of print. Most of our Military in critical areas swear to not give interviews, or write books. And most keep their words.

Looking to getting in to reloading

I’d suggest you purchase a Lyman Reloading manual and read it. If you know someone who reloads or you’re close to a Gun Club get a little help from another reloaded. It will save you money time and screw ups. Also you can sometimes find good used equipment cheap there. Over the past 50+ years...

Best load for 22-250 for coyotes

I used to load Barnes 55 Gr projectile to shoot deer or Varmints. My 26” bbl Rem chronograph at 3810 under dime groups. I’ve measured 42” s penetration thru a deer long ways. Only recovered 2 in years both were over 53 grains. Need a very clean bore and use their data on a 1 in 14 twist.

    155 GR Scenar 308 Varget & IMR 4064

I worked up loads with Sako TRG Mod 22. Imr 4064 44.5 grains and Varget 46.6 grains both touching hole groups on mixed brass. 4064 get a little bump but no sign of excess pressure.
