    Rifle Scopes Which optic for first all-around bolt action rifle (<$1000)?

    I have the SHV 4-14 F1 and like it a lot but it costs a little over your budget. I also have a Bushnell Elite Tactical LRTS 4.5-18 which is currently on sale at Cameraland at a great price.

    Rifle Scopes Meopta quality and service

    I had a Meopta 1-4X that was used on a 3-Gun AR-15 that had many thousands of rounds through it. The scope was probably 4 or 5 years old when I noticed that the retical seemed to rotate. Called Meopta customer service and said to send it in, it was replaced with a new scope.

    New Shooter trying to decide

    My first centerfire rifle was a Remington 700 LTR in .308. I had a lot of fun with it including some USPSA Manual Rifle comps, Shooting some sniper matches, and NRA F-Class. Generally, the recoil was enough to never actually see a hit and you had to find the target again for the next shot...

    Should I buy a Cooper?

    I have a Cooper Model 22 in 7-08. It shoots 1/2" groups @ 100 yards and 1-3/8" @ 200.

    Keyhole issue

    The first thing I would do is make sure the bullet is not skipping. Set up a 2' x 2' paper target at 25 yards and shoot at the middle. Once you know where the impact is adjust "0" then try longer ranges.

    Rifle Scopes tikka rings on remington 700 action?

    I have an older 700 which has had a variety of scopes and mounts. I doubt that any mount not designed specifically the 700 will work. I ended up putting an EGW picatinny rail mount on the 700 which then accepts a large variety of rings and mounts.

    Taking a new rifle to a match

    It is unlikely that your barrel would speed up enough during a match to cause a miss. I have a relatively new Tikka and with about 600 rounds through it, I'm just starting to notice velocity increase. I'm also not seeing much difference on target with the faster barrel.

    Tikka T3x Tac A1 scope rings/mount

    I avoid scopes made in China. I run Nightforce SHV F1 4-14 and Bushnell DMR and LTRS . My Tikka A1 is in 6.5 Creedmoor but I have shot a lot of .308 from a Rem 700 with a 20" barrel . My go to .308 load is a Sierra 175 Match King . I handload but Federal and Black Hills load this bullet

    New to Precision Rifles...

    I've been shooting a Remington 700 LTR in .308 for decades. I recently bought a Tikka TAC A1 in 6.5 Creedmoor. With the muzzle brake the Tikka does not move off of the target after firing and you can see the hits. Recoil is minimal, more like shooting a .223. The 700 is for sale.

    Rifle Scopes Leupold Rings

    I've shot PRW rings for years with no issues. I'm now shooting one piece mounts and have tried Nightforce and Badger. Both work fine.
