The DT website lists that barrel at 4.2 lbs. Not bad...Looks pretty lightweight, especially if that is a step up to allow for a 5/8x24 thread.

Damn pretty hefty for a 16” barrel! My SAC 16.5” Bartleins are 3lb 4oz and 3lb 14ozThe DT website lists that barrel at 4.2 lbs. Not bad...
Picked up a used PVA barrel on here and chopped it to 18”. Slapped this rifle together with some spare parts to see if I’ll like it. Getting 2700 with 130HVLD over 37gr Varget. I might pick up an 18” bartlein Carbon for it.Has anyone done a short 16-18” 6.5x47? I’ve always been intrigued by the cartridge. Of course, I could just do another 6.5cm.

I think he needs a better scope. Don’t worry, I’ll take that one off your hands.Got my kid’s 18” .223 all finished up.
Some break in and quick load development led me to this.

Thats 5 shots, 100 yds.
Kinda slow speeds at 2625, but tight SDs. Not many rounds through it, so expecting some speed as time goes on.
Pics of rifle coming.
Rem 700, Brux 1/8, .223 Wylde chamber.
MDT LS XXL and MDT vertical grip with a Luth AR butt stock to get the needed 11” LOP. Seekins 20 MOA base and rings. Bushnell LRHS 3-12.

I had to try haha. I’m sure it’ll serve her well.My kid is a girl. Tougher than most dudes on here.
She would kick you in the nuts and jam a thumb in your eye for trying to snag her scope.
And probably call you a commie.
You see, Im teaching her how to deal with boys.
What bullet and velocity are you running in the 7-08?Top is a surgeon 16” 308 in a McMillan a5
Bottom is a Winchester model 70 14.5” pin and weld with TBAC Dominus in a McMillan hunter stock in 7mm08
All I have are 175’s right now. They are running 2450.
Have 150 and 162 eld’s on back order
Looks like a tac ops.I’ve had this rifle for a while now. It’s a GAP .308 barreled action (18 inch) on a Manners TF4A. Has the BlackOps bottom metal and EFR.
Yea I was somewhat going for that look. I’ve always preferred the look of those rifles.Looks like a tac ops.
The CSR is a 16”, the remy in the manners is 17.516 or 18"?
Is that Anthill? I used to shoot USPSA a lot down there.Back in the saddle. 2600fps with 147's in this nearly clapped out Proof barrel.

Very nice! I'm moving back to Lejeune next month and hope to get down there a bit again.Sure is. It's right down the street from my work so I always go there to get a good zero.
What's the barrel contour on the tan rifle?Still try to keep 90 percent of my rifles under 18". I just don't have too many needs for anything longer.

Thank ya!Great looking rifle!
Travis is currently spinning up a 18" barrel for my Mausingfield, so I'll finally be able to participate in this thread with my own addition soon.
Thank ya!
Hell yeah, shorty’s are awesome and so is Travis! What caliber you getting?
Sounds like a perfect set up!Going with 6.5 Creedmoor chambered for Hornady 143 ELDX.
It will be used for Cous hunting here in AZ.
And yes, Travis does excellent work! High quality, and his timelines are great.
How does this one shoot? I picked up a 1500 in .223 for my daughter several yrs ago and bedded it into a Boyd's At-One so it could grow with her (should probably swap for a nicer stock now).....anyhow, that darn thing shoot ragged hole groups with 69 gr Sierras.Howa 1500 in .308 with the factory 24” barrel cut to 18” and glass bedded in a B&C stock.
