Has anyone tried the Berger 156 and RL26? I’ve got some that I want to load and need some charge weights. I’ve also got H4350 and 4831sc and several other powders but want to try the 26.
Im playing with the rl16 instead of rl26, the bigger bulelts seem to like it more and im getting the same speed. 42.8 gr is giving me 2752 with .010 off the lands
42.8 of R16 and Federal 210m primers and either Prine or Hornady brass works in 3 different rifles with 24" barrels: Sierra 130 TMK, Berger 130 Hybrid, Norma 130 Golden Target. Lapua SRP brass is 42gr. If using H4350, add 0.2gr.

42.8 of RL16 was my load with 135 A-Tips but I could only get 2820 out of it with my 26" Bartlein. It was very accurate with low SD/ES. I moved up to 43.5 with 450 primers to get 2850+. Still getting 6 or less SD. Stupid accurate to 1400 yards so far.
41.3 H4350 in Lapua brass and cci 450's propelling a 140 ELD seated .035" off the lands of my JP Enterprise barreled mega maten build... 5 @ 100, best group yet for this rifle.
Yes those velocities are correct. I have actually seen an increase in velocity with fired brass. I think I have settled on 47.8gr and its running 2967 according to the labradar. Those are all with 147 eld.
Has anyone tried adding weight to the front of their RPR to balance it? Mine is heavy in the rear. If I could get it to balance it sure would make it easier to shoot unsupported on small barricades.
Yep, both of my JP 6.5's have a node around 41.5 gr 4350 with Hornady brass and the 140's. They fly eerily close to the factory 140 load.

I loaded up a few of the new Berger 144 Hybrids this past weekend using the same load for my 140 Berger Hybrids which are @2884 FPS. I am seeing some slight cratering on the primers and had a couple sticky bolts. It surprised me at the jump in velocity (expected it to go down). Seems really hot to me.
I plan on starting low again (40.5) and working up.

Anyone have any load data using berger 140 elite hunters and imr4350 powder? It may be in here somewhere but damn my eyes are hurting from looking. Looking for some real world numbers if possible. Rifle is a bergara hmr pro. Just starting load development and h4350 is a unicorn locally. I plan on working up a hunting load and a match load and picked up what was available locally for now

Have been waiting on some R26 to get here. Of course, it is backordered. I do have a ton of R25. Is the burn rate of R25 pretty similar to R26 but more temp sensitive? Does anyone have starting loads for R25 and 130gr eld's. Just wanting to be able to load up a few rounds and hit the range with the 6.5
Just scored another 8lbs of reloder 26 from a local shop for 159.99. Was the last one they had. 1 lb were 23.49 had 2 left of those. 16lbs should be plenty for me for a LONG time, should last the rest of my barrel life, roughly 500 on it currently.
Meh, I prefer my cake and eat it to, lol.
20" barrel, it sped up to 2730fps, that's 10rds.
I'm on the verge of getting dies for my 6.5 Creedmoor. Simplex, a local Australian company, has very nice match grade dies but for some reason they only have neck sizing and seating dies for the 6.5CM.
I don't really want to neck size, so I wanted to ask what dies you guys are running. I do have my eye on a couple of full length options, but wanted to hear the consensus.

I may be the odd one outta the bunch here, but I run Hornady match dies ( bushing ) with my 6 and 6.5CM’s.
I use Redding bushings that are 4 thousands under where I want my neck tension to be, then use an expander mandrel with a 21st Century Neck turning arbor to bring it back up another 2 thousands.
This gives me 2 thousands concentric neck tension.
The entire setup cost me around $175. You can spend $250-300+ on dies if you want. I have Redding comp dies for other calibers and I cannot tell the difference in this process.

Are you getting that short of concentricity on the seated bullet or just the brass. My hornady resizing does give me great results but I get up to .0035 runout after seated

I loaded up a ladder test with Barnes 127 LRX's last weekend from 42.4-44.0 grains with RE 16. 43.8 and 44.0 were within 4 fps and clocking in at 2905-2909 in a TC Compass (21.6" barrel). I've got brass drying now from cleaning those cases. There wasn't any pressure signs at 44, so I'll start at 44 and work up this weekend. I'm using Hornady brass, Redding Type s Match bushing dies, CCI 200's. Seating the bullets 0.050" off the lands.

I burned about 12 pounds of it in my previous 260 barrel.
I actually liked it more than H4350.
You have to burn about a half grain more than H4350 to get the same speed but it has a bit more head room and good case fill.
Best groups I ever got were with 4451 and 140eldm’s
Considering the case volume difference your at about the same place I was.

What is a reliable load for 6.5CM using R16 and 140gr ELDMs?
I switched powders from 4350 and need a decent load to break a new rifle in. Just want something that will do ok like the tried and true 42.5gr H4350 loads are.

In my 260 I use the almost the exact same charge of H4350 as I do R16 but the R16 will be faster.
If you have a mild load worked out for your brass and H4350 I’d just swap in R16.
Getting ready to start some loads again after swapping to a 17" barrel. I have bought some starline brass and have seen some reports that it produces higher velocities than standard hornady brass.
Was curious if anyone was using this brass and if you had any suggestions on powder size. Have a bunch of h4350 so planning on using that.

I'd be interested in seeing what velocities you are able to get from the 17" barrel.
Honeslty not looking for a blistering fast speed, just something accurate. With the 7" suppressor on the end, the 24" factory barrel was much to long
Maybe I should have said how much do you lose with the 17" verses a normal 24-26" just curious.
18” barreled 6.5x47 gets 2670 FPS with 140 vld. Just for reference.

I see. There is a good article that the author removes an inch after a few shots. Tests and recused. Very interesting results honestly
I shot an 18" for PRS last season. I got a bit over 2900 with the 123s (SMK/ELD), and 2600-2650 with the 140ELD/142SMK/143ELD. All using a comfortable load in Peterson brass. I don't remember what the 123 load was, but the 140 class was 41.4g of H4350. Not exactly a smoking load. I could have pushed harder but my groups were always between .25-.5 MOA.
