Re: 6.5 grendel ?

My 18" sabre fluted barrel with Magpul UBR stock setup balances nicely, points quickly, and isn't too heavy to carry hikeing through the woods. I have the utmost faith in nosler 120's being able to put down a deer quickly.

My little brother tells me that the 90 grain TNT hollow points is super reactive on rabbits.

Re: 6.5 grendel ?

I took a wild pig with my Grendel about a month ago. I loaded it with 120gr Barnes TSX bullets. Based on the exit wound, the bullet expanded nicely. The pig just flipped on its back, kicked a few times and gave up.

Since my rig is set up for long range / target shooting, it was a bit heavy to lug around. I just ordered a mid-length gas system 16" Grendel upper that I can put on a carbine lower specifically for hunting.

Re: 6.5 grendel ?

For hunting with the Grendel try the 129gr. Hornady SST and 30.0gr. of BL-C(2) or the 120gr. Nosler Ballistic Tip and 31.4gr. BL-C(2).

I dont like BL-C(2) but it works really well with these bullets.

Re: 6.5 grendel ?

The Alexander Arms 129gr SST and 120gr Barnes ammo work great on white-tail. I run an 18" bbl, but the 14.5"-16" would be fine for deer within average hunting ranges. For varmints, I use the Wolf 120gr MP. It's a little rough on fur, but will drop a coyote clean and the price is right for a full day of plinkin' prairie dogs.
