I should try the 130 smk. I have always like sierra bullets ..... hopefully dont get blasted for that lol. I've shot alot of the 140 hybrids with good results. For what ever reason my last 2 x47 did not like the 130 at hybrids.

I've been shooting 140 Hybrids through 10+ x47L barrels the last few years. But these sierras are cheaper, high BC and super accurate. Win win if you ask me. Consistent as hell to in weight and base to ogvie
What speed where you getting with the 130s and bbl length? I'll run some.numbers. I've not tried them yet. I was not expecting great results with the 150s but with the bc and speed I am.getting numbers are good. I'm 8 mil to 1k. I'd like to see the drift between the 150 and and 130
4166 is a faster powder than Varget but only slightly. The issues I had with it is very narrow load window. My 6.5x47 is doing awesome with RL-15 and Lapua 123 Scenars.I recently read that IMR 4166 Enduron Smokeless Powder is very similar to Varget, though i've not yet had a chance to try it. I know many have had good luck with RL 15 and H4350.
4350 didn't give me the speeds I wanted out of the 47. Switched to varget, love it.
@padom nailed it.
I found pressure with H4350 sooner than Varget with the same speeds.
Not sure if barrel life is much shorter with Varget but that is in someone else realm that has used both and have gone through barrels with both.
Thanks, gents. Will just stick with my H4350 load until I run out of the 20+ lbs I still have.
Just watch for pressure.. you will be good!
Holy crap those things r flyingNo pressure issues over the past two years using H4350. Would like the ES to be a little lower, but this works fine for the matches I use it in so I stopped fussing with it.

My brother and I are both running varget, lapua brass, 140 hybrids, I'm running fgmm primers he's running 450s I'm loading 37.1 for the hybrids and 37.3 for 140 eldms, he just ran 100 at 38 grains, but whatever we feed them its usually the same tiny groups. We regularly shoot 2-3" at 600 yards I love it. Both running pva buttons on a tl3 and origin. Awesome cartridge. I really want to try the shooters world precision though.I've only used varget and still working up a ladder for that. I have reloader 16 loaded too but havent shot it yet
I've only worked up to 35.3gr under a 144gr Berger. Was rather slow and no real pressure signs. 24" proof from straight jacket armory. On a origin. I think you'll like it, I'm primarily a 308 guy but I love the 6.5x47. @padom is a guru on this round I believeYea. New to this round. Last round was a 6cm. Looking forward to shooting it more
I actually want a 308 barrel too. And a 223aiI think you'll like it, I'm primarily a 308 guy but I love the 6.5x47. @padom is a guru on this round I believe
223ai with 80 grainers does sound niceI actually want a 308 barrel too. And a 223ai
Yea. I was planning to use the bergers. Buddy of mine has a 22" getting 3000 with 88s I guess223ai with 80 grainers does sound nice
Yea I figured good coyote gun/ trainer and I can bring new shooters in and be cheap and low recoilYep they're very appealing
I'm at 2773 with 36.8gr varget 144gr berger in 24". Sd 9 es23 so farI've got a solid Varget load worked up, 36.8gr with 140hybrids getting me about 2750fps out of a 26" barrel.
Just got my hands on a couple containers of Vihtavuori N540, since it was looking like Varget might be hard to get from now on. Anybody have a load worked up with N540?
I'm seating the 140s at 2.145" base-to-ogive, and that's about 20thou from the lands. I kinda stopped chasing any further loads to try and get more speed...this seemed like a good balance between speed, accuracy, and recoil.I'm at 2773 with 36.8gr varget 144gr berger in 24". Sd 9 es23 so far
nice job with the AR comp and 123CC's! Whats the charge weight in the pic? I'm about to load 150-200 rounds with AR Comp and 123CC's virgin brass and new barrel so I can have once fired brass and start load development with 130s/140s hybrids and Varget. I typically use the 123CCs/AR Comp for practice and plinking for my 6.5x47/260 barrels since I have plenty of AR-Comp and got 2k 123CCs and a really good deal. On my last 6.5x47 barrel I tried 35gr AR-Comp/123CCs and got 2847FPS ES18 SD6 out of 20rounds and grouped 3/4". Good enough for my purpose but after looking at that pic maybe I should revisit this combo
You’re right about where I’m at with my son’s. 23” running 2990 with 120 amax. Pretty sure with 37.9gr of VargetI went and shot part of the ladder I I had loaded up with H100V and 123CC unfortunately my battery on the MS died and the new spare I had was totally dead.
But up until that point all was looking good and the speeds were pretty decent.
No signs of pressure for the 7 rounds I shot but will have to go back out with a fresh battery and finish the string.

I also ran a ladder with AA4064 that tracked pretty close to the H100V ladder before the battery died. The velocity was pretty good atleast in my opinion and seemed to show a nice low and high node for what this barrel consistently has shown with Varget being low node at 2850fps range and high node in the 2950fps range with the 123CC.

I got out and finished with the last ladder I had today with a new battery in the MS.
It appears that AR-COMP is the powder I have been looking for to use with the 123CC.
It showed the least amount of vertical speed through the charge range even though it was the fastest burn rate but had acceptable accuracy so will give this one more attention.
