I shoot ground squirrels with a couple of buddies who don't see all that well and we spend a bunch of time "he's by the rock, that rock, no the black one, that black one, no, the black one by the big ass oak tree..." I've often thought a really bright laser might help, but haven't been able to find anything. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Lazing could work, but can have limitations like what DS said above. Have you thought about starting off with identifying landmarks and creating a "range card" of sorts? That could definitely help with communication and familiarizing yourself and your friends with terrain features, distances, and can quickly transition from one reference point to another.

Obviously if you're on a walking/stalking hunt, you can do this but just need to update the landmarks as you move.

It's a little driving and a little walking. I may try green, but there seems to be a huge divide between the $10.99 Costco/Amazon special and $800 wazoo tactical deal. I could paint some rocks pink or green (or black and have tactical swat rocks), but I can't throw very far and critters usually don't stand still to shoot after you throw a rock near them.
