I screwed a Savage barrel on in 6.5 Creedmoor and it appeared that it would feed ok. I didn't have a nut for it so I didn't try to shoot it to confirm that it would run, but I'll bet it will run good enough to get you to the next barrel.

Anyone getting Hawkins M5 bottom metal, I recommend waiting for the new adjustable latch version and order both L and S latches. I filed off quite a bit from the L to get AW mags to seat perfect in a Foundation stock.
That I do not know, but I would assume so, if they currently sell L and S latches for that bottom metal.
No, they mean for the trigger hanger. This is the mag latch. Where I have my hanger set does not interfere with the bottom metal.
Finally made it to the range to break in 6 new barrels. The 2 CDG builds being among them.
Rifle #1, CDG 30 MOA rail, 28" 7.5tw hawkhill 1.25 straight cut with alpha 6bra reamer, mbm super beast brake, in an envy pro jv chassis, zco 527 10mil turret NLE, mbrace mount. TT diamond GOLD.
Rifle #2, CDG 30 MOA rail, 27" 7.5tw hawkhill hvy comp cut with saami 65creed, hypertap brake, AI atx FDE chassis, zeiss LRP S3 6-36, mbrace mount. AI AX mags work well in the atx chassis. TT Special.
All barrel work was done by Manzella Precision, fit is perfect. He stated both actions were 0.827 headspace VS the prints 0.825, the man does amazing work. He's cut me 6gt barrels for archimedes, Tl3, atx, and now a bat bumblebee, and they all headspace within 0.0005 based on measuring shoulder on fired brass. Dudes a master machinist. Random break in loads of 30.3gr 4166 with 108bt Berger 25k off in the bra shot just over 2" at 300y in heavy mirage, the 65 got 41.5gr 4451 with 140eld jumping 50k, this load shot 1.7" 5 shot group at 300y. All other rounds fired were postional practice on the 6" and 4" targets at 300y. The 65 was built in 7.5tw in plans of running 153.5 Bergers when they come available again. The 6bra will get 109 Bergers once it reaches 200 rounds for breakin.

Pieced together CDG #2 for break-in duties for CDG #1’s spare barrel that’s arriving Friday. Then will see duty in 6XC when it’s barrel arrives.
Negative, other than remove the mag block that's bolted into the chassis for aics mags. Now aw/ax mags work great!

not a super competitive prs shooter usually half pack so I really don't care to get the MDT ACC Elite. So really glad AT-X works no mods
It dropped into the chassis, but I did have to file the inside of the hanger for the pins to line up with a diamond.
Update on my CDG 6BRA feeding issues from a page or two back. So I re-installed the HRD kit after using a dremmel and polishing compound to really smooth out the lips on the AW mag and it made a night and day improvement. Feeds like butter, no malfunctions, and I didn’t have to adjust the lips at all. This is my first AW mag setup and couldn’t be more impressed, with 5 or less rounds in the mag you can’t even feel the bolt pick one up. Pretty sweet. Here is a fire forming 10 shot group with Berger 105 target hpbt. This PVA barrel is a hammer. Thanks @bohem

Finished, torqued, adjusted and feeds great. Now to go camping so i can see what it can do. 6.5cm with a 26in pva m24, tt special, and bushnel xrs3.
Na, its a 20. Went back and forth on 20 or 30 but went 20 since ill spend more time closer than further.
I’d say that was the right choice for you then. I asked because the perspective seemed to show a noticeable cant towards the barrel that is much easier to see with a 30 moa rail. But I suspected it could also be due to perspective.
I got the 30 moa rail on my LA since I plan on using that for ELR mostly and in that case more is better.
Yeah, want to do both close and long but i wont need more than 20moa for almost anything ill do with this 6.5cm rifle. Now if it was a 300prc... id maybe want 40 or so...
I’m enjoying seeing the various builds for two reasons. First it is like gratification through others’ experiences. Second, it shows just how much variety and different ways rifles can be configured by the average gun enthusiast these days. A huge variety of options and choices for most any taste.
Yeah, dont have much experience with much past transonic... but old 6.5 rifle this ones replacing needed 16.6 mils to get to 1500yds the one time i tried. This one should shoot better groups so maybe ill spend more time out that far... who knows, i have enough adjustment in this scope and base to do that much at least...This is not the thread for this, but 6.5 is a blast at a mile…jus’ sayin’.

Totally concur, speaking from experience. I try not to speak of it to normal people unless I want to be perceived as a kook.
With the right target, 6BR will still ring a 1/4” thick ipsc if it’s hung right. And the newer better scopes will get you there easily.
That was my thought process too... Originally ordered a 30, then realized that I probably wasn't ever going to shoot this build far enough to need a 30 so emailed ARC and changed it to a 20 to keep the scope closer to optical center. Brought the CDG home from the dealer and only after I had spun the barrel on and bolted it in the stock did I notice the "30" engraved on the rear of the rail; turns out ARC sent me a 30moa action instead of a 20, so I'm right back to what I originally ordered... Lol
Doesn't really matter anyways because the scope I'm going to be using has plenty of elevation and no discernable difference in image quality at zero between 20 and 30moa of cant. The 30moa rail might have been a problem though if I was going to use a lightweight hunting type scope with only 20 mils of total travel.
Yeah, im not sure if i could tell the difference in this bushnell opticly or not... has pretty nice glass really. Not sure how it compares to other pricier scopes but seems pretty good. Figure ill stay closer to center in case but the 20moa is welcome for longer shooting still. Cant wait to go shoot it.
Had planned to use a 20 MOA mount and 20 MOA action, ended up changing the order the 30 MOA and when it came time to top the rifle with a scope I couldn’t find a mount I wanted with incline. I’ll probably never shoot 6.5CM to a mile, but more MOA is never worse so long as you run quality optics.
The Pic rails on the CDG are short in height, def shorter than my lone peak, zermatt or impact. I expected my 30moa rails to have some height and they didn't. So my typical 1.5" mount height that I've been using on everything lately, is slightly closer to the bore then on other actions. Just something for you guys to keep in mind.
That’s good to know. The 30moa rail on my Mausingfield is higher than that of the Impact.
Interesting. I have a slew of 1.54" mounts from ARs. I wonder if a G mount will work with the CDG.
It will. I was using a Badger C1 cantilever before I switched to a C1 Max. I also have a fatty comp contour barrel.
Awesome thanks! I picked up a July 4th G Blem just because it was cheap. My barrel is a 6 CM medium palma. Hoping my action is here by September, but that may be a bit optimistic at this point.
For reference on scope ht. This is a Spuhr 4601 or 1.18" ht 20 moa cant mount + 20 moa rail & 56 bell with Tenabrax. Barrel is Proof Comp contour.

I put medium mdt elite rings which are 1 in. on mine with the 56mm xrs3 and have decent amount of space between scope and barrel. Enough for some scope caps but not much more... so about perfect i think.
If your eye falls naturally there on the gun and it’s comfortable without scrunching your head down, then it’s perfect. How far above the barrel is what happens when it’s the right eye height and doesn’t matter unless it’s too close and will be affected by barrel contact.
I prefer to align my scope height with the height of my eyeball.
