Best Desert Tactical setup

I just bought a DTA SRS 338 lapua and did a trade for a Nightforce 5.5-22x??? scope. Looking for educated opinions on the 22x50 vs 22x56 NF and recticle selection??? The current thought is 56 with NPR1. Also, thinking about getting a second barrel. Looking for an educated opinion on either the 308 or 243 options?

And what about a nice case? Pelican hard case? Ideas?

NPR1 is a great reticle. It can be used to range targets very easily especially with the larger magnification 22x vs the 15x.

The 56mm will let in a little more light.

You can run either the 50 or 56mm with the DTA. The current DTA mounts are made to run 56mm and still clear the rail. I am currently running a Nightforce 5.5-22x56 NPR1 with zero stop on my DTA and it is a great set-up.

243vs308.... Do your research and make your own educated decision. I personally have 338 lapua and 308 barrels.

Pelican and storm both make a nice case. I've had both and they are great products.

I have two DTA SRS's. One has the 22" 308 along with the 3338 barrel. I would recommend the 308. You can't own too many and its a blast to shoot. I am going to get a 30" ABS barrel later this year for it just can't decide if I want big or small. 6.5x47 or 300 RUM.

Thanks guys. I think I'll go with the 56 and 308. Already thinking of the HTI as well. Got to find a longer range though. Can someone tell me what the effective ranges are for the 375, 408, 416, and 50bmg?

Go pelican, love mine.
properly loaded .375 stays supersonic until 2800yds I believe, .408 until 2250yds, 416 (no clue), and 50 is good a little bit past a mile.
