i dry fired my 77/22 to observe the bolt and saw movement upon
hammer strike. i never paid attention to this b4 reading of a fellow on another sight looking for shims. well after smoking
over the bolt it made sense to put a shim were the bolt
pivots and to push the forward section of bolt toward the "breech" thus making bolt tighter. Well i cut a piece of coke can to shape and slid it between the two sections and observed
there was less movement at "breech" bolt interface upon dryfire and the bolt handle "snugged" up when locking the bolt. So i put two
shims in and was unable to lock up the bolt, too much shim.
Am I on the right track with this concept of shimming my bolt?
