What's really amusing is someone (yes @Chris1966 I'm talking to you) thinks we will all be begging to turn them in.

Upside - I was at Sig this weekend and the Pro Shop had a line waiting to buy from 0800 to closing.
Downside - One of the students in the class I was in is supporting ranked choice voting on our ballot in Nov. High end AR, NF ATACR 1-8X . Communists will use this BS to game elections and install their loser candidates.

It’s funny in England you see allot of old houses that have bricked up windows. The reason is England once had the bright idea to tax people based on how many windows your house had, because of course the more windows you had the richer you were. So people just bricked up the windows. This plan is about as smart as that one for a number of reasons.

Your right in the short view but I think mistaken in the long view. If this was just about one issue I might agree. Along with gun control the democrats bring a host of terrible ideas,forced racial re-education,business and wealth taxes that will cripple production, and a all out war on religion. There was another time these things were tried, just prior to 1776. In the 1700’s Americans were far from starving, as in 1861. There comes a point where even if you have the basics you will still fight if the right buttons are pushed, and ignoring history as usual democrats are pushing the trifecta at the same time, the three most likely to cause insurrection, gun control, taxes, and religion. Throw in the rest of their dumb ideas and they are standing in a pool of gasoline flicking a zippo. There will be the vast majority that won’t do anything true, but if even 1% does revolt that is a army of 3.5 million, or in other words the largest army from a single nation ever assembled. If they tax businesses to failure and the comfortable economy goes away it will get real interesting right quick. Your error was thinking gun control was their only bad idea, while they have a list of bad ideas to choose from.
We're not trying to start a revolution. Most here are trying to preserve a way of life. You probably won't read much in history about revolutions that were quickly and disgustingly squashed. Think about it. We aren't the revolutionaries - we are the defenders.

Agree on the first group but not so much on the second. I'm in one of the worst anti-gun states in the country and have many law enforcement friends, acquaintances that support gun ownership and believe our laws are ridiculous.
Not only that, but we are supporting them right now not the lowlife protesters and officials that want to defund them.
I have zero control over what other people decide to do. I can only do what I have to do to protect my family, myself and a way of life I enjoy. Society in general is headed in a direction I disagree with, just leave me the fuck alone and I'm more than happy to let other people make their own decisions.
If they start killing people for their guns, you might be next. Therefor you have everything to lose. If they do start killing people for their guns, people with guns who are not already part of a militia may join one. Neighbors may band together in rural areas to protect themselves. Not every National Guard is going to be willing to attack Americans in their homes and there is not enough Police to do it. The politicians are counting on people just giving up.

After the resulting deaths of the first week of forcible confiscation - men, women, and teenage children who will resist, would you and your friends simply meekly sit at home and await that knock, once you know its coming? Would you really load your guns up and say, yeah sure, here Mr. and Mrs. Commie you can have them, knowing all atrocities you experience and live to see done on your family from that day forth you could have resisted? Any such effort to disarm the USA will result in a change in this country, and it will not likely ever be America again, despite whom is victorious. The result of the Revolutionary War was a miraculous and most unlikely outcome. I do not believe ever before, nor since has a group of men which were successful in their conquest for control of a nation handed it to the people of that nation to allow them freedom. Their only failure was to underestimate the determination of their future heirs in destroying that which they have created. Nonetheless, I do not feel socialism/progressivism/communism can be allowed to become our future.

I don't speak for anyone but myself, and it's just my opinion. All I'm saying is that Europe and the rest of the western world has been effectively disarmed. There's also an undeniable trend towards public support for trading freedom in for perceived security. I'm not saying everyone's going to tuck their tail between their legs and bow to the man if and when forced confiscation comes into play, but most will initially, at least to the point where threat of immediate force is going to be futile if orders are followed through down the chain of command. I'm arriving at that conclusion based on our western counterparts that have gone through this already, and the general trend here stateside. Hope for the best and plan for the worst, right?
Second, popping off shots at law enforcement if and when confiscation is carried out is a surefire way to get yourself killed and painted as one of the deranged, gun toting lunatics the left likes to stereotype. Live to fight another day and think objectively. Emotional, knee-jerk reactions like that aren't helping anyone and will rarely serve you well regardless of context.
In my OPINION, the Molon Labe thing is kind of juvenile, and it's doing nothing whatsoever to improve the situation. If anything, it's making it worse. I just wish more people put as much time and money into meaningful, rational action as they collecting badass t-shirts and stickers and stenciling this shit onto their firearms. So if confiscation becomes reality like the rest of the Western world, are they not still disarmed? If there was a solution other than becoming subservient, the rest of the rational world would not be disarmed.
Not saying some of what you say isn't true, but contrary to what you may think, there are some that are willing to fight for what they believe in, at whatever the cost.
The ones willing to sacrifice everything will not be walking the path for themselves because surely they will not see what lies at the end.
If any security apparatus decides to kill a citizen because he or she refuses to surrender a weapon, it will be time to start hunting those who work for and more importantly, those who direct the security apparatus. Nobody is invincible. Everyone knows who and where the puppet masters are.

The idea of having hundreds of thousands, if not millions of citizens taking up arms to defend the constitution against tyranny brings a tear to my eye just like anyone else here... I just don't see it happening. Too many mall ninjas and shit talkers out there, especially amongst the younger generations that would make up the backbone of any resistance. The NRA and others sold us out with the National Firearms Act of 1934 - prior to that, I believe the average citizen could own whatever type of firearm they could afford. Every firearm law passed since that date has added restrictions on what can be legally owned/possessed.
Like a fellow poster previously alluded to - we are just to damn pampered/soft to be mainstay resistors of anything. Won't ever take to the streets against stay at home orders, close indoor businesses, wear masks indoors/outdoors etc - This chicom virus/flu has proven how easily "We the People" in the USA will surrender our Freedoms/Rights. In my opinion, there's not many of us that will stand against tyranny when if it gets lethally serious.
Some might consider going off the grid but what type of life is that? Kinda like cutting and running compared to "Give me Liberty or give me Death" - surrender is not an option, when you get it on.
