Coup De Grâce, New Action from American Rifle Company, $899 WOW!

No thanks...it's ugly, and I wouldnt own a rifle with that name etched on the reciever.
Kinda punked out, freaky ugly clunky chunk of metal...with a screwed up name, screaming, "trying too hard to be cool"...but in actuallity embarrassing to own.
You lost me with the name on tbe side of the reciever...then the ugly takes over.

Bedazzle it with your favorite color jewels then.

Hahaha! You are a funny little man.

did you buy one?
I owned a nucleus my dad has one but no I did not buy the new action I wasn't thrilled about it as others on here. I have my own opinions about all the little parts ect. I see there is already a few issues and the big one is the cut out isn't long enough for cip. I bought a Bat for a new action very happy with it and I was a huge arc fan run there rings

The only one you would like has a giant PTG on all sides.

The fact ARC dropped all their other actions, is a bit of a red flag. The nucleus was on its third iteration, the archimedes just always worked. Now the new latest/greatest comes out and all other sku's are gone, as well as their aics mag offering. How long till Tedd comes out with another new design and the CDG is an afterthought of the past? I own two of these and it's a serious question of mine.
First of all I'm not attacking you or anybody personally but just want to express my opinion, and I'm not going to respond to any posts attacking me.
Can anyone say why it is bad or wrong that ARC shouldn't come out with a new action or make improvements to their existing actions?
ARC has been making some of the most Aggressive/Progressive improvements to the Mauser/Springfield/ Remington /Impact/or whatever actions, that nobody else has been smart enough to do. My opinion may not count for much, I'm just a guy that likes really accurate rifles and have no problem with someone who continues to make improvements to mostly century old designs. And then sell them at a lower price than direct competitors. I think the CDG design and price has a bunch of action makers stepping and fetching.
I have a Mausingfield in .22 Creeed with Barloc, a Nuc gen 1 in 6 Creed, with barrel nut and have no complaints with either. I have a never barreled Arch and two CDG shorts, (one I would like to trade for a long) trying to decide on cartridges.
FWIW I have been running a CDG with a conventional barrel nut and flat faced 6.5 Creed barrel with no FTF on about 60 rounds.
I'm not a wanna be big time PRC guy that thinks he knows everything but I know enough to see a good thing when I see it.

Check your front pocket. If there's an iPhone in or anywhere near it the answer to your concerns should be readily available.

The CDG is simply an (albeit large) forward leap in a decades old tech. Apple doesn't sell the iPhone X for the same reason that ARC doesn't sell its now outdated kits. If you have hesitations or concerns around the CDG, my best bit of advice to you would be to wait a few years for Ted & team to squeeze another 2 megapixels out of the R700 platform.

Not an apple guy. Have the latest and greatest Andriods or Iphones done anything seriously better than last years flagship piece? No, maybe a lil better camera, or you get some extra ram, or HD this, or UHD that. The CDG offered a big change from 700 clone tradition upon its release. Were already into a trigger hanger redesign, extractor redisign. How much beta testing was done to where nobody new a BnA trigger wouldn't fit their actions hanger without getting your dremel out? I know MPA and Vudoo were chomping for actions due to the offering it in production rifles. I just personally feel as if the release was rushed, and the refinements that have been made should have been proofed out in the beta testing and r&d. Waiting a few years for CDG 2.2 may have been a good idea, or at least giving it a years time for the bugs to be engineered out, and had the refined version. I shot my CDG and archimedes at the range yesterday, I have no complaints, they both are a great action. I will say the CDG is the only 700 clone that runs aw mags 100% reliable, all the time. I love double stack double feed, so it's a great thing. I have two of em, a 6bra and a 65cm. They've both been great, other than the forward brass ejection, not a big fan of my brass ending up forward the firing line in a match. Hopefully that gets sorted out eventually as well.

The pin with the new extractor has a beveled end.Should it face extractor or spring?

I faced the beveled end towards the extractor. Reasoning was the spring pushes on the flat face of the pin since it's only applying pressure in line with the pin, while when the extractor pivots slightly it also slides over the end of the pin as it works and can the slide over the beveled end of the pin.

If you zoom in closely on Ted's video and note which way the pin was facing on the table and his finger orientation when he picks it up it appears he dropped it in with the bevel facing the extractor. Then again, it may not matter which way the bevel faces, as the extractor functions fine no matter which way you face the bevel, and if it really mattered which way the bevel faces Ted probably would have pointed it out in the new video.

I faced the beveled/pointed end toward the extractor too. Should I reverse it?
I had the same question regarding pin orientation and emailed ARC. Here is their response

Rounded end toward the extractor and tapered end toward the spring, but either way will work!

I just looked at 2 spare extractor pins that I received from ARC, and they're right... One end is tapered and the other end has a very slight dome on it... So the best way would be dome towards the extractor and taper towards the spring. I didn't notice the slight dome on the end opposite the taper when I installed it.

Guess I'll turn mine around, lol

Not sure what the problem is with the BnA Trigger ?? Mine worked the first time after adjusting and cycling... First time I have ever installed one... Cry some where else:rolleyes:
Did you have to grind a chunk out your hanger to install the BnA? I did......because BnA triggers were an afterthought in initial design/production until customers called and said wtf. Now there is hanger 2.0

Nothing.. Maybe you install it backwards...The curve faces backwards. As my oriental friend say Shimple Shimple..

Couldnt say on the hanger... I didnt read about the issues until after delivery... Maybe I was Rucky? I dont know

What are your tricks to get the bolt back in?! It always is a hassle for me!
It seems to help if I reach in with my finger and flatten the ejector against the action sidewall, then it usually goes in without as much messing about. If the gun is standing upright the bolt seemed to go right in too but that may have been a fluke.

Well, as far as I can tell from reading here, 6 months on the outside. I think that it could be less than that now.

My long action, ordered about a week after they went live, took under 6 months.
Ugh I hope it doesn't take that long but I'm sure it'll be worth it. Thanks for the heads up. Funny how I'm used to waiting a year for a can to be approved but so impatient when I order actions...

I put a new long action magnum Coup de Grâce 20” 7PRC build in the PX yesterday. It won’t be parted out but it may fit someone’s needs as is. It will make a good medium weight foldable hunter for someone.

I just received my LA at the end of December and it was 5 months to the day. Good luck.
Assembling cdg long action in Manners LRH stock with bdl bottom metal with extended Wyatt box magazine.

Stock needed to be inlet to clear the trigger hanger. Not a big deal.

A bigger deal is the Wyatt box hits the trigger hanger. Only solution seems to be to inlet the box at the bottom to clear the hanger.

Anyone experience this?

The shop it town finally opened after new years so went to pick up my action, little did I know that Colorado has a stupid (unconstitutional) "cool down" period that only served to fire me up... odd how that works.

Anyway I got to screw with the action a little but will pick it up on Sunday.

Needless to say I'm very excited to bring this home. The action was quite a bit beefier than I had anticipated, which is a good thing. I'll wait to form any more opinions till I can get it home.

The packaging was nearly laughable but I'm not the kinda guy who rates the quality of the product based on packaging.

Yes stupid law!!!

Funny how you say that on package because my Arc Nucleus came in a foam cut out with box fit nice my dad ordered one and was wrapped with a cloth paper in a box. But excited to see it and what you think

I am building 2 rifles. I finally have the stocks and actions. HNT26 in short and long action. I am finding issues with mags. The mag latch isn’t latching. On the long action I purchased their new polymer mags and those appear to be rubbbing as well. I called MDT and they are sending different length mag latches, but has anyone else experienced this?
