Food riots thread…and energy.

Nothing to worry about here.

I just direct seeded my corn in the garden today. It's still cool here but if I don't get it going the shorter days of fall will not let it mature.. Bees are not producing honey yet. The farmers know what they are doing. You can't rush Mother Nature.
A lot of worry out there about "food"... Worldwide.

Nothing to worry about here.

Interesting data point… but no “why” behind it?

Farmers waiting hoping diesel prices come down?

Shortages of seeds/fertilizers/etc?

Too wet dry hot cold as a result of a goofy spring?

Planting other crops?

New wheat variety with shorter growing season you plant later?

Going fallow for a year rather than grow crops they will sell at a loss?

Lag in reporting or collating data… aka wheat is planted but Ag Dept has not updated its chart on time?

The data point is interesting. But in a vacuum, has no meaning, really. Looks scary. Probably is scary. But without some “why” behind it it’s just more FUD in a world being run by FUD-porn 24x7.

Sirhr

PS…. Anyone in the farm community know the “why” behind that curve?

I'm dead middle of wheat country and haven't heard anything unusual happening.
I'll ask around tho......won't say I'll get any decent answers, but I will ask.

I will add.
I've not seen anything unusual, most fields are green with the norm about 10-15% laying fallow.

Fields too wet for the farmers to plant.

No rain so far this week so it will help.

Side note: the winter wheat crop did not have enough moisture and the spring is getting too much.

Here is the "why"..... Too many American's have drank the propaganda Kool-aid. This country is a rolling train wreck and the voice on the PA speaker is saying "Remain in your seat, stay calm, everything is under control"...
If you have a question and desire a specific answer, just keep bouncing around the Internet and eventually you will find the answer you desire.
By raising a simple garden, a person will get all their questions about farming answered.
JMHO

Well then why haven’t I answered my simple question…… do I buy the 40hp cab tractor or one frame size larger 57hp cab tractor??? Both are overkill for my 3 acres and my 1/2 acre garden.

My current 23hp open station works, I want a cab to get out of the FL bugs which means 40hp class. No I’m not getting a Kubota LX series. While nice is fucking retardly expensive.

57 hp...........

Yeah but maneuvering 5000lbs on the lawn around the wife’s flowers can be a bit life endangering. That and a 84” cat2 finish mower is a good bit more expensive when a cat1 implement is more than adequate.

Now if I can find work to do with a tractor that big I’m all in!

For the cost of the machine you could pay a lawn service company to do the work.
What do you want?
What do you need?
What can you afford?

Give a truthful answer to each question and there is the tractor you should buy.

Lawn service to come out where I live would run me $200-$250 a month. That’s why I bought the 23hp little compact to begin with. Figured if I used it just once a month it more than paid it’s way. It’s upgrade time now. I like the bigger 57hp. It’s way more bang for the buck and capable of dabbling in actual ag utility work, but I don’t actually need that size.

I can afford the more expensive one and pay a third of it cash upfront. I am trying to not spend money if I don’t have too. If and when the economy’s goes to shit I don’t want any secured debt loans. The 40hp size I can pay half in cash and the savings over the 57hp buys more implements.

I technically don’t need either as my little 23hp does whatever ask of it work wise. But it’s lacking a lot of features that would let me expand its capabilities. No skid steer quick attach on the loader. So no grapple. No suspension seat and it kills my back. No rear auxiliary hydraulics for top-n-tilt kit. That and I’m tired of the FL bugs. Really sucks hitting a low slung branch mowing and getting a lap full of fire ants or wasps!!!

So I want a cab, but to get a cab tractor means 40hp 3600 lb frame size or larger. SSQ loader, hydraulics are all standard on either. The 57hp tractor is 4700 lbs and a foot wider than the 40hp. I’m only on 3 acres with 1/2 acre garden trying to move more towards a market garden/farmers market growing. I am concerned about ground weight. Summertime here with all the rain makes for soft ground and I have to drive over a septic tank drain field. Yes it will probably be fine, but why push my luck if I don’t need to.

I just can’t help but think if I get the larger once I have it will I find jobs for it that I didn’t think about before. Kinda like once you own a toll you then think oh I can do this now or that now…. 57hp can run a batwing mower, not that I have one…

Oh the other big reason why I settled on the LS, (that’s who makes New Holland’s compact line) good dealer just down the road and ground level fueling. Was strongly considering a Massey 1840m that is the same fuel tank setup, but auxiliary hydraulics are limited and backorder for a year. Also the dealer is a hour away.

Humidity is a big problem here in central FL with fuel. Learned the hard way that a under hood fuel tank not kept full all the time will suck moisture like crazy. Almost had to buy a injection pump!!

I hate to quote these fools but….if you listen they are telling us what they are and will be doing.

World Economic Forum-
“ This year we are looking at a food shortage. Next year we are looking at a world food availability problem and that will be hell on earth. “

Side note-

You will have to connect a few dots on this one. W.H.O. Is pushing a new “binding treaty” that gives them authority over sovereign states over health emergencies. Washington backs this. This comes with a world digital passport(remember this part).
W.E.F is creating a system to track individuals personal carbon footprint. It will track your travel habits, how you travel, where you go, what you eat. Pretty much the entirety of your life and activities

The 2 above are facts that are taking place. The below is theory on how they will use them.

Link those two up and you have your world ID and the basis for your new world based social credit score.

Southern MN farmer here. Lots and lots of rain. A good portion of the guys have got crops planted. But there are still many that waited a day to long and now it's just been pouring every 3 days or so. So if you don't have a tracked tractor your not getting in. Even then some of the fields are still to wet. If you got your crops in already, your golden. But if you don't... well.. their nervous I bet.

Somehow my autoplay was played a bunch of Davos vids today. This is absolutely true, Digital implant, goal 2026 at the latest, which everyone will agree too after the food shortages, will be linked to carbon credits. Another whole lecture was about AI replacing jobs, over and over so that the only humans to succeed will be those that can adapt every time there profession is destroyed, and the rest are "useless eaters" (yes, the actually went there with those exact words).

Those words "useless eaters" has been used for a while now. Anyone that uses that term publicly is telling you who they are aligned with.

Couple more bucks and you can get a real tractor.

I'd be keeping an eye out on the late model used equipment flyers and sites.
Let the other guy take that initial loss of value.

Been wondering about that myself. Food instability, rising cost of oil and gas, and massive inflation are a bad combination. And they are trying to disarm us on top of it.
If you manage to still have a gun you won't be fighting the .gov if you're starving, can't afford gas to get to DC or where ever the politicians are, and have no monies to buy over priced gas and food.

THAT is what it's all about.

It's the modern "the man keeping the brother down" shit from the 60's.

I’ll drop this in this thread as well.

Bright sunny blue skies in our future.

That is a good article, well condensed and to the point. I will throw this out for discussion.
The way they are going about reducing the population eliminates the frail, weak, low IQ, less resourceful, dependent human beings around the world. Once that group is out of the picture, what they have left is "a force to be reconed with".

Well now, you can not say you were not warned.... About the time Kennedy was assassinated, Friday, November 22, 1963, a person with average IQ was saying "this shit don't add up". Seeing that last helo take off from Viet Nam was a "Wake Up" moment... When the Twin Tower's fell was another "Heads Up"..... Ruby Ridge and Waco should have awakened a few more.....
If you are not ready, you have no one to blame.

I think i will be out of primers , only gun left .22LR , you can probably feed it for cost of primers these days

What is the poorest country in the world? Want to bet that their military and police are fed better than the population? Want to bet that the police are also predatory on the population?

Who was stopping the people from the truck loads of aid sent to Venezuela a couple years ago?

The play is clear: Right now they’re getting ready to tear all our old food systems down, with the stated aim of building them back better.

This is totally true until people hit the breaking point. The point where they know their lifestyle is over and they don't know how they are going to even survive should change that. The question is where this will happen. Even the elites wanting this great reset to occur have to know this is going to be a huge time of chaos and there is risk for even them for a while. When people are afraid of starving but still have the strength and supplies to change that, then that presents a problem for that.

By the time they realize the situation it will be far to late for them to change it.

I can see food lines. Actually they are already happening. Many churches and other agencies are up and running "food pantries". The car lines clog up the streets several times a month.
I was talking to someone that volunteered at one. I asked him why was he enabling the trash in living off of others? He had some serious sob stories that were told to him and he ate them hook line and sinker. I told him to track a couple of these cars. Follow one to the other "food pantries" and then home. He asked why. I know some people that work for the county sanitation on garbage trucks. They know how much of the food is thrown out. They take the boxes from three or four of these places home and stock up the shelves. Anything they don't like gets tossed. Bags of flour go first, cornmeal, beans and the rest of the staples... In the trash.
My apologies I had forgotten about it
Remember to go get in line for your free block a government cheese.

I went through my usual go to grocery store in a small town. It’s always fully stocked even during the last few years. This time there were many many open and empty spaces throughout the aisles.

Kinda surprised me. If it were the Walmart in the neighboring city I would not have thought twice about it.

I cornered the manager of my local grocery store last week. Explained that the "quality" of many of the items was starting to decline. He had few concern's about quality but was concerned about even getting products after he ordered them... Shortage more concerning than quality... Sounding like a third world country....

Its not third world until the dogs get eaten. But it does suck to not get what is needed.

I'm not sure dogs are not already being eaten.... Judging by the quality of the meat. We really don't know what we are eating when it has been "processed".... I'm planting deer food next to my garden. Prime USA meat from an organic food patch. A Montana hunt from my porch.
