idk what happened to this one, but maybe its cuz i had 2 other cans approved like a month ago so i was fresh through the system

my 2 other cans this year were after 360 and 365 days on the dot. maybe this one was quicker because i was fresh in the system

I don't understand how 4 submitted at the same time (6/17) and only 3 went through on same day 2 weeks ago. Waiting on the last one. I have a feeling this one will take awhile. Of course the one I'm waiting on is the one I will use the most.
What's the secret for faster approval times? Did you name your trust after your Only Fans page?

Alright, so my new TBAC 22TD (black) for a permanent residence on my Ruger SSH 22/45 has just now been certified... We'll see how things are moving along now. It seems many of the recently certified cans are getting approved much quicker than the ones that were stuck in que for a long time. They should be familiar with me enough by now, I hope this one just slips right on through quickly.

Wild to see some of these Form 4's getting approved so quickly. I currently have a pending e-file Form 1 via Gun Trust that I've used many times since 2011. I was under the impression that E-file Form 1's were averaging 21-28 days according to most info on Reddit and Barfcom. I called this morning to check the status of mine that is now 28 days since filing and it's in 'Pending' status but he informed me that they are averaging 68 days on them at the moment.
Well I guess talking about it got the NFA gremlins moving, just woke up to an approved status and stamp!
Certified mine on 12/10. First one for me. Wait is gunna suck!
My SOT just submitted an eForm for my latest suppressor purchase - I'd be thrilled to get the stamp back in a couple of months instead of waiting for a full year... I hope you guys are right. But you're talking about form 1, not form 4?
Form1 is the quickest one, usually measured in days or weeks. But your form4 shouldn’t take a year—average time now is getting closer to 6 months, with a lot of people recently getting lucky at only a few months.
If you purchased a suppressor, it's a Form 4. If you manufacture a suppressor, it's a Form 1. Same process essentially, just more detailed specifics on a Form 1.
Form 1s usually are faster than Form 4s. Thats been the norm forever, not to say a Form 1 can't take a year, but that would be an anomaly.
Form 4s I believe now days are averaging around 200-270 days, I don't keep up with these numbers as they just get your hopes up. At the end of the day, it is all unknowns, and you are just waiting on the government to rubber stamp your permission slip.
Yea I remember ten, eleven years ago when everything was done in just a couple of weeks to a few months max. Then we got to a year plus in the wake of Sandy Hook, eForms came on the scene promising to speed things up and then went away for a while only to return again. My last two suppressors (Form 4) took 364 days but that has since dropped to 7-9 months this year and it seems like most are now seeing 5-6 months as of late. My eForm 1 (SBR/non-factory) took less than a month, that's about right but the ATF did say the national average on those is still 68 days.
Last one got approved today.

Form 4 acknowledged by ATF as SUBMITTED/IN PROCESS on February 1. Still waiting. Have called and was told to keep waiting. Submitted email to NICS with no response. I even asked my U.S. Congressman to intervene. Still nothing.

Dumb question. My first 5 tax stamps were old school Form 4 paper submissions. Just filed my 6th stamp 12.01.2023 but my first Efile. What the heck does "Certified" mean?
It basically means it’s been officially filed with the ATF.
That is the modern equivalent of the check being cashed. It is when everyone starts counting from.
Like was said, it’s essentially the ATF saying, “Ok, we have officially received a copy of your eForm (and trust), and we are now “cashing your check” for the $200 stamp. So we’re now going to officially start processing your paperwork.” It is essentially “Day 1” of your wait time.
