Farmland is privately owned but those “private” farmers sold their soul to the devil, John Deere equipment with proprietary software they lease, and GMO seeds they cannot re-use. The fanasty you have for farmers and Russia/Putin are one in the same. I still can believe how many people love Russia and hate their own country. You may not like what Americans and government officials say but to wish it all comes crashing down because their ideas offend you is pathetic. In a Geopolitical world you sould not covet your enemy.
My point has nothing to do with soil maintanence and everything to do individual property rights. If you bought it, inherited it, won it at a poker table, or whatever it is yours to do what you see fit with.
The fact that you openly agree with the government mandating anyone do anything is worrisome.
You seem to enjoy doing what you want with your business, shouldn’t farmers be afforded the same freedom?

To back track I said, farmland is a finite national resource
And as several people have posted there are times where the market dictates what is planted.

My premise is, are farmers acting in our countries best interest…trying to keep our resource as long as possible.
If there was data showing the abuse of the land which will become a national security issue in the future…should there or is there oversight.
To reiterate, I don’t want government to get involved. I don’t want to tell them what to do.
I want security of our resource so we aren’t dependent as we are with oil
All that matters is that they are able to act in any way they choose with their own property as long as they aren’t damaging someone else’s.
We obviously have differing opinions on individual rights and freedom. You see their property as “our resource” where I see it as “their property”.
It’s their property 100%, they pay taxes
But it’s a national resource as well, it’s protects sovereignty by making us self sufficient.
It’s just not the same as 1/2 acre with a house and pool.
I consider it the same as fresh water.
There is a limit and it has to be cared for properly.
This is what has allowed the government to grow into what it is today and why it won’t last.
You’re all too happy to hand someone else’s property rights over to the government to ensure you have food to eat. You applaud the gov for decreeing ownership of my wells, creeks, springs, and mud puddles to ensure you have water to drink. Don’t talk about business minors, international trade, or developing products while depending on the government to mandate your sustenance. If all you own is a half acre, you need a garden instead of a pool.

I know how I care for what is mine. I don’t think of anyone else other than my family when deciding what I do. It’ll be there for generations to come. I don’t care what anyone does with their property as long as it doesn’t damage anyone else’s.

If someone poisons groundwater dumping chemicals, that damages others property. They should be sued and held liable for damages to other owners property.

manufacturing regulations are not the same as phase 1,2,3 trials and finalization of the drug for market

I do however hold our current Potato in the same regard as Putin, Zelensky, Soros and the like. They're all globalist who use us as tax slaves. Who is us you might ask?? The hardworking people of this country who produce and build. The other 30% of Americans who do nothing but take and leach....well...they get used also. They're used as leverage against the rest of us. Cannon fodder for the race war, the Abortion fight, the lgbtqlmnop fight or any other distraction to keep the cash flow in check.
Though I do not wish it, I do believe the only way this country returns to some semblance of its former glory it to rebuild from rock bottom.
