I'm looking for some advice from some of the more experienced here than me. It don't much. Haha.
Ive been developing a load for my REM. 5r .308 for longrange.
So far my best load is with
Win. Brass
178 gr. A max
Wlr primer
44.3 gr. Varget
2.820 oal
2610 fps. In mid 50's
26 fps. Es
The gun loves this load and shoots ragged 5 hole groups at 100 yds. And .5 to .75 moa at 300 but at 600 the high es starts showing and the group has more vertical than hor. Difference. It still consistently shoots .75 avg. moa as long as I do my part. Maybe I'm asking to much but should I hunt a load with a lower deviation or just shoot my load. Also I've read a few claims that the cci br2 primer are milder but more consistent for long range. I shot a few loads with them but none had the accuracy of the load above or Should i maybe start over with that primer and try to find a load for them? I kinda stuck with Varget also because I live in the southeast where its drastic weather changes through the year.
Thanks
