Rifle Scopes Issue with NightForce nx8

Any update on a resolution?
Negative. Currently with the local NF dealer. He shot it a couple days ago and said it was obviously drifting but wants to shoot it on another rifle one more time before he deals with NF himself. I understand not wanting to stand up to NF without being absolutely certain.

Never heard back from the Cameraland guy with an update.

This whole situation is ridiculous. Here I am over a year later getting ready for deer and elk season again and I still don’t have a scope that’s good enough to take hunting 😂 Buy once cry once really burned me this time. I could have bought a dozen other scopes that would have least been good enough for hunting purposes.

On the plus side it forced me to focus on archery. Poked a bull opening day. So thanks NightForce!!!

Also curious what you’re wearing(the watch not
Your clothes) haha

Submariner blue and gold. It's now 19.5 yrs old and still just awesome.....my wife gave it to me as an engagement gift after I put .30cal diamond on her finger back in 2001:giggle:

Good deal on getting the bow out and sticking an elk. Sorry to hear you're still dicking with scope.

Sure wish after all this time I could say I had a resolution. I had Clearwater SO serve them small claims paperwork so I could get my money back for this thing.

They had a month to respond and waited until the very last day right before time was up. Still awaiting a court date.

Lol. What a company. All of this instead of just refunding or replacing it. I must have really ticked them off.

Not what I expected to read. I still can't believe a dealer wasn't able to step in and help.

I wish you luck, let us know how that turns out.
Oh I’m sure I will win. I have several credible third-parties(Including axial precision/AllTerra Arms) that were nice enough to test and document that it’s defective for me. Not to mention I was able to finally buy a vortex Viper and do back-and-forth testing showing it’s ridiculously obviously deffective. It’s just a time and money lost, and the extreme headache of dealing with this for a year and a half and still having it not be over.

Atleast I can finally shoot my f***ing rifle and enjoy it. Vortex for the win.

What a bummer man
Thats super chicken shit of NF!
I bought an NX8 a few months ago and it's been great, I felt good about supporting a company that's local to me.
Now I'm not so sure..

I had a vortex AMG go defective on me twice within 2 months of buying it, I contacted vortex and with no questions asked they sent me a return label then issued me a check for the full MSRP!
For that reason alone I'll continue to buy vortex

Scope nightmare! Good for you being so patient and not selling/dumping that POS scope on someone else.

i can’t imagine why they don’t just eat the scope, and have a happy customer and maintain a solid reputation of excellence.

Stories like this end up being business school case reviews. Organizational leadership failure? Is there a commitment to taking care of a defective unit for a customer? Or is the culture to just blow this off as a one off problem and ignore it. I’m sure their big competitors are reading this thread in disbelief, but I’m sure they’re snickering too. I’m sure this story also fuels the fire at smaller more agile companies who are eager to learn from the mistakes of others and be more responsive to customer concerns.

I have an NX8 that I like. I’m also in the market for another scope and ready to spend big bucks. Another nightforce fit my want list exactly. I’m gonna look elsewhere for now.

I had Elcan do the same thing for me. Trijicon repaired my ACOG and paid for shipping even though it was my fault for thinking my SCAR 17 wouldn't eat it.

NF is the worst customer service I've experienced. Skott was pretty rude and authoritarian with his attitude of "not our problem, no refund good luck" and blaming everyone else with a mounting issue. After doing a bunch of reading "mounting issue" seems to be their go to excuse. I wonder how many people actually remounted it without sending it in and had it work as opposed to how many sent it in to have NF secretly fix a screw up and send it back as "customer negligence." Not a good sign when a company immediately shadow bans you on social media for pointing out a problem politely without being an A hole about it and flaming them.

I could have just went to a local store, bought a new one, put the screwed up one in the box and just returned it. But after all this I'd rather see them held accountable. After all this time whats another couple of months of having $2400 tied up in a pretty door stop.

I am sorry that you are having an issue with what should be a great scope. Please give us a call Monday. As a supporting vendor here, and an authorized NF dealer, it is my pleasure to see what we can do to get this corrected for you.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend and I'll speak with you Monday

And this is why i have a dozen NFs.

As a NF owner, this is extremely disappointing to hear.

I watched a guy on here buy a Primary Arms scope and the guy he bought it from just threw it in a box. No packing whatsoever. No scope box. The box was 4x too big for the scope. It was trashed when it arrived. Guy contacted Primary Arms and they replaced it for him with no questions. Wasn't he original owner. Clearly abuse. Replaced it anyway.

I've been thinking about selling the NF for a ZCO. I think I'm going to move forward with that.

LOL. Still fiercely trying to get out of having to even refund it or replace it!!!!

Just received my court date and a several page response. They literally want to stick me with a useless optic. Claiming that this is still a mounting issue after all this is asinine.

Hell of a story and really took the shine off of my opinion of Nightforce as a optics supplier.

@IdahoSpud - hope you stick it up their ass and break it off. Good luck.

When is the court date?
Dec 9.

I just don’t get it. All this to avoid admitting they can get a dud? Avoid the embarrassment of having to admit they inspected an optic twice and sent it back as functioning properly?

Yes, its very dense on their part, will cost them money and damage to their reputation among consumers, and I suspect you have a very good case and will stick it to them. Go for it, mate.

Some companies just cannot see the forest for the trees.....sounds like NF is one of them. It would have cost them almost next to nothing to just send you a replacement and then hopefully you would have given them some good press..... Now they deserve the bashing that they are getting in my opinion!
Good luck OP!

This sucks, was really thinking about taking advantage of the mil pricing and getting an Atacr. Now I’m glad I got a MK5HD instead. I just don’t get it. It literally wouldn’t take them anything to make this right but they choose to stand their ground for what? Bad business decision. I hope they do the right thing before this goes to court.

If your day job doesn't work out you need to become a full time youtuber.
That was fucking great 😂
Good luck in court and keep us posted
I'm glad you enjoyed my stupid humor :ROFLMAO: I have a semi decent Youtube channel with 14,000 subscribers that made me about $10,000.00 in ad revenue. The final edit after court goes there.

I've been on the fence between a NF ATACR 1-8 and the Vortex Gen 3 1-10. Ordered the Vortex yesterday after reading up on this thread.

Things break, how you handle issues is what matters.

I have been researching this very thing for months and was on the fence as well, but this makes it clear that the vortex is the way to go.

Not surprised, they banned 50% of their contributing members for arguing with a sponsor at one point. I’ve had nothing but great performance with NF, and the only other thread I’ve seen besides this one about NF was actually a mounting issue and the guy was an idiot. When I Eventually do upgrade my NXS this thread is definitely pushing me towards Kahles.

Completely chicken shit of Len to do that. I recall your bergara problem thread from the beginning over on LRH. How the rifle was proofed then it turned into optic proving then showing the NF scope issue, then your thread was removed, as well as yourself. Absolutely f'n bullshit.
Len's a fucking tool, he's all about selling advertisements and promoting moron group think
LRH is a total joke of a forum

No, that’s the kind of shit that place breeds. If you let them know their wrong and they start fighting everyone gets banned. So now retarded stuff like that isn’t kept in check.
I have been a member of a few different forums SH is the only one I actually log onto anymore.......dumb shit like that gets stomped out real quick around here!

Interested in the follow-up on this. I've got a Nightforce that has so far been flawless but I very much am interested in how a company handles its duds........customer care is the name of the game.
