LMT Rifle Backlog Now 3 to 4 Years Long | The Truth About GunsThe Truth About Guns

"LMT makes some pretty nice rifles, especially their .308 Win chambered AR-10 variant. Apparently so many prospective firearms buyers agree with that assessment that their waiting list for a new rifle now stretches all the way into 2017. Sources tell us that while the actual number of orders they have on hand is unknown, the LMT reps are forecasting that any new orders placed today will be fulfilled in May or June of 2017. Makes me wonder if, by the time my order is actually filled, the interest that money will have accrued could pay for a Trijicon scope . . ."

This doesn't mean much and the information is admittedly skewed. A few months ago you had people going gun shop to gun shop ordering rifles anticipating picking up the first one that comes in. They will weed through the bs and tell dealers that they will only build and ship rifles that are paid for. Now I dont doubt that they could be 12-18 months out, especially since the Brit's will obviously get priority concerning any of their needs.

While they are out that far, stuff will start popping up Used that is brand new. Guys bought in hoping to ride it like the stock market only to see it go the other way. PMags etc were like that, ammo is like that now etc. Supply will probably catch up sooner as "good ideas" will go south, people will cancel orders etc.

The tough part in ordering is that the date is by no means firm. Even if you are given an anticipated backlog when you order, it can be moved if they get military orders that they insert into the line. I ordered mine long before the elections or Newtown started the craziness. The delivery date has been moved several times.

I assume these are verbal orders ? If these are verbal orders quite a few people will drop out of line.

Some of the smaller manufacturers must be careful about ramping up for large production orders - only to find them canceled.

My CQB was $1800 with MA taxes the Monday prior to Newtown. Not sure where they are now but I have seen other parts of the country to be typically cheaper by $100 or so.

Wonder if the reason they are so backed up is because they sold to FatherLand Security and Big Sis? Didnt DHS just order 7,000 new machineguns to round up dissenters and reeducate them?

Wait time means if you ordered one NOW you would get it THEN. However, plenty of dealers have had them on order all along and are getting in a slow but steady supply.
