My post over at range reports and external ballistics evolved into a discussion of FCG springs. Boltripper was kind enough to direct me to JP for springs:
"go to jprifles.com and sniff around for them YELLOW springs i posted about.....there are BLUE 4.5lb springs....but them ain't what you want"
According to the JP site, the pair I need for the AR10 has the RED hammer spring, and the YELLOW sear spring. Red hammer spring assures reliable detonation, according to JP. They also say not to expect a significant improvement from these springs with stock parts.
I have the Armalite factory (non-NM) two stage tactical. It is heavy, but fairly crisp, with almost no perceptible creep at about 100-150 pulls.
Currently, the factory springs are set on the middle position.
Questions are:
1. Will I notice a significant difference in feel and group size?
2. In which position should I place the spring legs in if/when I install these springs.
