This has been known about for months and months. They knew it was an issue but kept selling these, then didn’t even really come clean with the fix. It’s still broken. They need to reimburse all the buyers impacted. Come up with a real legit resolution, then get back to making what was a pretty good rimfire action.

All that BS about calling the manufacturer! It didn’t resolve anything. That was some highly biased crap.

Are you affiliated with a certain company in the industry?

No trolling. Just facts. Are the new bolts gouging yes or no? People here have posted them. That’s a fact. They just need to get new harder materials that work and focus on that.

Your doing it again... saying one thing and when called out saying something different. You've been down this road before.

Because a company has a problem, said they had a problem, said they will 100% fix it and hasn't run isnt a scandal or trying to rip you off like you keep preaching. Its gotten nauseating..

They only admitted the problem because it blew up. Don’t lie , you’re totally biased.

Edited to add that I actually had a ton of respect for you until recently.

Lololololo. Im biased in what way? For not trashing a company and making up lies about them because they had a problem and are working on fixing it and have told everyone such..

Its obvious you dont own a company and never have. ALL companies have problems at one time or other. I've been in this a long time. I've seen the scandals and companies that screwed all their customers. This ain't it, believe that.

They KNEW these were an issue last year. They kept selling them anyways. Call it what you want, but a spade is a spade. Yes companies have issues, but they didn’t halt shipments until a real fix happened did they? Customers are still screwed over today.

They said they changed the “geometry “ and hardened them, they didn’t. I said it before. They should have just come clean last year. Months later they did because they had to? That’s the scandal. I’m done with this.

I wouldn’t believe shit padom has to say! He’s been as quiet as zermatt hoping this goes away and we can get back to selling junk ass actions with a tootsie roll bolt in em! I bought a new rimx 3000 plus action with a gouging ass bolt then turned around and bought a conversion kit months later with a bolt that gouged like the original! Why the hell was it still on the shelf being sold when zermatt knew it was faulty? Bling bling bitches… all about the money! Let’s sell this shit and claim to fix it later!

I’m like you JD, I’m done with this! What a waste of money and give a shit!

Can I just get my fkn replacement bolt already!? Sheeesh fellas!

Glass is mounted. Balanced without adding weight….

Lugs are so bad, it’ll decock on close sometimes, and it’s now gouging in a different portion of the lug.

I like the colors looks good.

Whenever we get the bolts fixed. I did buy this from Gong Joe in Canada. It’s a bolt protector for the RimX.

My serial # is 31xx, no problem. Speaking to other smiths who also work on RimX's, it wasn't every single serial # after 3000 that had it. And they already have been trying to fix it.

I had a Vudoo 360 when it first came out. And my bolt stop never broke, but I do know of a lot of people that did break. They did their best to replace the part, but the design was faulty. And then once they figured it out, they had to modify the action to make it more robust, and they did that for all the Vudoo 360 customers.

I see no difference here with ZA, not sure why everyone is flipping out like it's some massive conspiracy. Zermatt has been making solid arms with Origin and TL3 for many years, and suddenly it's a big ol conspiracy for the RimX.

Looking forward to the L3I and DPG's new action, and for one little feed issue and have the whole world come down.

Another biased person speaks up. If it was your money and you had the problem I bet you’d think other wise. Not your problem though, right?

You’re looking forward to seeing the competition hopefully have issues? That makes you a sore loser.

RimX did this to themselves, no one including me, who spent hard earned money hoped for this.

I know what kind of person you are. Sad, sad, sad.

Has no one here ever experienced car issues that didn’t warrant a full blown recall but were only fixed with TSBs? God help you if you ever did. How is that related? That means they they found out that it’s an issue that could happen but don’t feel like it’s bad enough to recall each and every single car. It’s a wait and see game. When the customer brings in their car we’ll address it.

Anecdotally my daily driver deals with such a (now) known issue. You know what the fix is? Installing another identical OEM part made from the same material. Nothing has changed materials wise even over the past 10+ years. I’ve yet to go on a forum and complain that it’s coverup or try to file a class action lawsuit.

I could have just said fuck it and sold it when I started reading about it before I actually experienced the issue.
Edited to add.. before anyone says well you should have bought American, it is an American car.

How about this scenario, you just bought a car, it’s your only one, you can’t drive it, because it won’t even start, it’s sitting in your driveway for a few months now waiting on a part.

The replacement part you didn’t know you’d need when you bought it, starts the car once or twice, and the next day it won’t start again.

Don’t worry though a fix is coming. Meanwhile you can’t use the car at all. Had you known, would you have even bought that car in the first place?

It’s a good thing in our scenario, it’s just a bolt that runs in a 22 action that I purchased as a hobby that brings nothing but a little blast of dopamine every time I use it.

I have a 20 K shotgun I compete with, that had top latch release issues.
Gun went back to Pennsylvania and was gone for about two weeks. Difference here for me is, it’s taking longer than I would’ve hoped for. Other than that, I feel like they’re trying to resolve the issue.

Don’t let us be fooled by the fact that said Company continued to sell cars knowing a defective part was an issue.

Half of you guys are missing the real point here in this situation. I don’t think Kenny or anyone else is trying to bash a company. The company knew there was an issue and continued to sell their products. Kenny probably more than anyone is hurt in this. He has orders to fill with no parts to fill them. I don’t remember the number of actions from RimX he had bought that they wouldn’t take back but it was a chunk of change. That’s revenue that is tied up now and orders were being cancelled. Instead of holding a company liable for the issue I see most of you poking at a smaller company (DPG) for realizing the problem. Then on top of that you discredit the guy for trying to bring something new to the table (FOR US AS SHOOTERS)…

As I said before this place is Wild. Most of you guys are way to comfortable typing on a keyboard and not living or dealing with real life.

I for one hope Kenny thrives in this market with his new action. I also hope that RimX fixes their mistake and continues to grow. I hope Modacam, Rachel Precision, and DI continue to grow. Growth in the industry means more quality products for the end user… The Shooters!

All I can add from my own personal experience is that I have 8 actions all in the 3XXXX range and none had an issue with the original bolt heads - Ray sent replacements heads to me anyway and I have run a 100 rounds through each and not a single issue! I would like to know how many exactly have or have had a bolt issue 5, 10, 20 or 500?

I think it's mainly all the ones that DPG received. Maybe that's the conspiracy 😅

So Kenny started this YouTube journey by coming out and calling out Vudoo in his videos. Then a few years calling out ZA in his videos. And now building his own action.

These companies also have been putting prizes on the prize tables for years and sponsoring the sport.

His main message has been, these products are inferior, come give me your shit so I can make it better. Bash others, to make themselves look better. That's mainly why I went for other people who just kept their work to themselves and not make a public showcase out of it.

I haven't seen any other smiths do this. They both work on Vudoos and RimX's... Rachel Precision, Modacam, etc. They work closely with ZA and Vudoo to help improve the product, but they don't go publicly post videos on YouTube bashing them. Is this just a special Kenny relationship?

Or maybe he called out room for improvement?

How many generations of Vudoo are there now? Multiple?

Didn’t Vudoo improve on the 40x platform?

Modacam came out with their own version of the modded RimX bolt.

The truth is there is a material defect. Why don’t they post how many are impacted? They don’t want the numbers to come out?

A Canadian Rimfire forum has been talking about these issues for awhile.

Maybe some smiths don’t have the choice to call them out because there aren’t enough actions available elsewhere so they just stay quiet?

You guys also don’t have any skin in this game unless you have one waiting on a revised bolt, do you or not?

Your a shill. Plain and simple.

Im just a shooter not affiliated wjth anyone. Yea OK. But started the new dpg action thread, answering everyone's questions and making posts saying I cant divulge anymore info right now.. and post a response to everyone's post in the rimX thread beating the drum with your same unintelligent responses. You sound like a little kid screaming because you didn't get the color popsicle you wanted.

I’m a customer who’s got a broken RimX. I have every right to complain. What’s your special interest in all this? What have you got to lose in this?

I own no part of DPG or any shooting related company or business. I represent no one. I do think DPG makes the best stuff out there and bought a RimX from Kenny. He sent me pics maybe because I’m complaining. I’ve spent a lot of money with him and others as a customer.

What’s your part in the industry? I know you’re biased. It’s obvious. I’m biased for sure now. I’m not hiding that, me and others are pissed off. I don’t get anything out of it. I’m an unhappy customer at that.

I don’t really care what you think at all. Why don’t you just put me on ignore? I’m about to do the same to you. Easy button. Enjoy your day.

Padom... JD is just a customer of DPG that has developed a friendship the same as me. Kenny does absolutely fantastic work. I wonder if you know what a Douche Bag you sound like Super Mod lmfao

I'll admit this has gotten out of hand. On my part as well.

I have no skin in this game. I have no employment or ownership or anything with zermatt. Have I reviewed products they've sent me yes although it's been many years. Do I own seven or eight actions from them yes. Have i had a single problem with any of them no.

Anytime I've emailed or called zermatt they have always gotten right back to me sent me free parts took care of anything whether it was my fault or somebody else's which is the main reason why I've supported them is because not only do they make a great product their customer service is top-notch and always has been.

I've checked with a few different Smiths that have done tons of RimX and none of them have had this issue and have new action sitting in stock.

I'm not saying that there is not a problem or trying to discredit people being mad because they specifically have a problem.

What I am saying is this problem is not as widespread as some of you are making it and are demanding numbers from their books on how many actions are affected how many they've made. You're not going to get that no company's going to give you that. But zermatt will take care of anyone that has a problem and always has it just might not be in the time frame you want.

The thing that has gotten ridiculous is the call for a public lynching lining up to a firing squad speculating some type of cover-up or conspiracy I'm making all kinds of demands. That's not how it works

Some of you have missed the companies that come and have gone from snipers hide and the gun industry that took everybody's money and disappeared and put out products that were absolute trash and didn't work from the get-go. Those were the ones that were all about money and didn't give a shit about anybody here or their customers and disappeared. Zermatt is far from that.

Made me LOL...when my boys were 7,7,6 & 4 my wife took them to the BlueBell factory for at tour. At the end, they got to pick a ice cream bar or popsicle to eat. When my youngest go to pick, they were out of popsicles....complete and utter meltdown time. Like on the floor screaming, kicking.....his brothers still talk about it 20 years later! Wife laughs now, but certainly wasn't then.

Thanks for the laugh today.

I'll agree this has gotten out of hand as well. Let's agree to disagree and leave it at that.

If I ever consider going to a match and meeting fellow shooting aficionados, I’ll remind myself of this thread.
It’s no big deal. Just a bunch of bored men bitching online and 99.9% of us are completely normal in person. I’d have a glass of bourbon with anyone on here.

I’ll saw the email from James. Didn’t notice any mention of whether shouldered prefits will be offered like they do for centerfire Zermatts.

When I talked to him he only mentioned blanks that require Gunsmithing.

I'll be sending mine to Mike @ Manzella

My initial thought on the Criterion blanks is that it seems a bit expensive for a button blank. At that point you're not far off of a cut blank from the reputable companies, especially when that barrel will last until the end of time or until you get sick of the contour, length or twist rate.
