When he first reappeared I was like "who the fuck is THIS fuckin guy" and made a wiseass response when he started in on me. Then I searched his other 300 posts in his 7 days and remembered who he was and said to myself "ah, he's THAT fuckin guy, and he probably does know at least most of what he's spouting"

The only "issue" I had, and would have with any member regardless of their demeanor, is that if you have that much knowledge then why make it a point to come here and actively choose NOT to share such knowledge. Amongst us more seasoned members we get the whole "if I have to explain it you wouldn't understand" thing, but there were a lot of newer members in some of those threads who were conducting themselves exactly how we'd like them to. They were asking legitimate questions based on their experience level and actively listening and processing responses. It's not in the forum's benefit for those guys to get actively shit on and belittled. That's what produced the "no attacking new members" policy from the old days.

I can happily look at amazing game and fish pictures featuring rifles that shoot great and look ugly. But it kind of reminded me of some instructors that any of us can remember who clearly had amazing knowledge in their field but couldn't convey it properly.

i don't know what got him ejected this time, but I really hope it wasn't simply hurt feelings.

In my own private opinion: I looked at every one of his posts and I saw absolutely nothing constructive, or even interesting. Every response was legit. Shit if you read some of the Old English or Norse sagas the type of language Larry uses would fit right in. The guy exhibits a bit of IQ and "style". It's not yet. Based on the response I did get from my thread, I ordered up a couple boxes of varying ammo that I'll try through the gun to see what works best. I'd like to get the most out of it so I tried Midas +, RWS R50 and SK Rifle Match. Once I see what works best through the gun, I'll probably buy some bulk stuff to plink with.

In the last few years of Thatcherism and then under Blair the disease of political correctness, the 'professional' politician and the rabid media hungry for their next effigy all took hold. Along with that, post-9/11 I saw the demise of some of the most sacred tenets of Western civilization - habeas corpus and with that loss the rise of the surveillance state. These are real losses of freedom, of individualism and the sense of self-determination and they were ALL enabled by the people of the UK who basically acquiesced to the State. They stopped demanding transparency and accountability of the State and they flopped into the "well, if you're not doing something wrong then what's wrong with a draconian state looking into your emails, your movements and such...".

The latter is what I see is wrong and happening here. In Boston, the house to house searches without warrant, the frenzy created and the infringements of the amendments in the name of 'war on terror'. That's your sheep factory hard at work. That's your State apparatus turning a toe-hold into a foothold.

Letting a President make accusations and then attacking as weaklings those who demand evidence to the accusation is giving the Executive branch an unbalanced level of authority and freedom it does not deserve. It doesn't matter if you like the President, it doesn't matter if he supports the elements of the Constitution that we all love, he has to obey the same laws as we do.

The fastest way to lose the things you hold dear is to show yourself as being a hypocrite to the people who want to take them away. It empowers them to play even dirtier, and harder because if you can't live up to your own standards then you've just created a race to the bottom.

Not sure how you got to this conclusion. The equal footing was in reference to expectations rather than ability. I post where I need to e.g. my recent thread in reloading. Larry's posts are not in the Pit, his are where the 'meat' of this site is and his approach is counter to the objectives of the board - as deemed by the mods and I assume Lowlight. PM - as I've said before, the unpunished transgressions of previous admins ( both sides have plenty to account for), does not allow present or future admins to behave in kind. So a judge gets a piece of paper in front of him that outlines the limits of policy and that judge can than take into account outside factors "just because" even though those other elements would have no bearing on what is on the paper before him to be judged.

If you saw Diane Feinstein today and observed her venom for the idea of taking the Constitution in its originalist intent Im sure she would be in agreement with your thinking.

The most populace Muslim nations in the world are not included in the executive order, the most terrorist supporting nation is not included in the order (Saudia Arabia). The only nations included in the order are those that have no functioning police apparatus to provide any background information on potential travelers to the US or they have governments that are openly hostile to the US. The order has been drafted to as closely as possible match a similar order drafted by the last administration yet now it is not Constitutional?

The judge rules on the policy that is before him. In the SCOTUS case in question the plaintiff claimed that government was mandating a good or service and would charge a penalty if the People did not buy the mandated service. Mandating the purchase of a good or service is UnConstitutional.

This argument was based on the rhetoric of the President not wanting to call the mandate a "tax" as that would be unpalatable to a population already taking it up the wazoo in taxes. So while pushing for his policy the term penalty or mandate was used.

But when it came time to defend Veterlli stated that the mandate was just a tax and totally within the scope of the legislature to impose. Scotus said yes disregard the rhetoric of the campaign and just judge the law as was now presented before them.

I have my issues with discounting the rhetoric of the campaign in order to lie to the People but if we are going to apply that principle in one case we also apply it here.

The libs have a tendency to tie themselves in knots with their obfuscation of the laws. In 2004 when it looked like Kerry was going to be POTUS the MA legislature, Democrat, quickly changed the law for replacing sitting senators and stripped that responsibility from Republican Governor Mittens Romney and changed the law to require a special statewide vote. Oh well Kerry was a bridesmaid, and an ugly one at that, but the law was changed.

2010 or there abouts when Ted Kennedy went to his place in hell the Dem legislature started the process of changing the law to cancel the special election and instead have Dem Governor Deval Patrick appoint the replacement. Surprisingly the odor of that disturbed enough old school dems that it didnt fly and we got the Scott Brown election which should have been a signal of how much the people like Obamacare.
