I believe we will see a dirty bomb attack in my lifetime (which isn't that long) on American shores. Don't know who would be responsible, but it's going to happen. Way too much fuel available around the world for this not to be a possibility.

You are welcome to go change the constitution if you wish... Lots of folks want to change something they don't like.
Most of the time the advantage to having multiple citizenships is if you have family abroad, it's easier to go see them without having to worry about the whole visa problem. (And no the whole rest of the world doesn't just throw their doors open for the great Americans anymore than the Americans do for anyone else). Often much less hassle if you have citizenship than as a guest. Just ask how our "border security" types like to play god and master when non-citizens try to come for a visit.

Your example is a bit pointless as a good part of the federal politicians seem to be bought and paid for by money, that is a much bigger problem that does somebody happen to possibly like another country as well.

I'd suggest before worrying about some senator who might have several citizenships and what they might hypothetically think about in a vote, you could perhaps think about our very own "born in the USA with oh so great only 1 citizenship" current president and how money flowing to his family may have affected his actions... or the congress critters sleeping with Chinese spies, and so on.

You make excellent points all the way around. However, by saying that other politicians have dirt on them and that our "border security" types play god with non-citizens doesn't make it acceptable for this particular candidate to hold dual citizenship.

I would certainly like to change the constitution so that office holders don't hold dual citizenship but I'm only one person.

All the other issues that you mention do need to be addressed and corrected. Nevertheless, we are talking about a candidate for Senate that has dual citizenship. If and when it comes to votes which hinge on the relationship of the US and another country we need to be assured that he doesn't have a divided loyalty.

The examples that you, rightly, point out do highlight the problem of office holders who aren't dual citizens but have loyalties other than the US. It's bad enough with them, so why do we want to add another person with displaced loyalties into the mix?

Ilhan Omar is now a US citizen. I don't know if she retained Somalian citizenship or not. Hopefully we can agree that she hates the US and everything she does is bent on the destruction of our republic. She should be removed from office, stripped of her US citizenship and deported. I say this because she's an example of not only divided loyalty but totally misplaced loyalty.

I have a little more respect for Dr. Oz than Omar but still worry about his divided loyalties. Renouncing his Turkish citizenship would make me feel a lot better about him.
