Price Check in the Gas and Diesel Aisle...

Paid $3.89 in Atlanta at the start of my drive to Chicago to help my mother after her hip surgery. Had to fill up at $4.84 at my destination costing $103. Overnight, 87 at the same gas station is now $5.15. My car is supposed to get 91/93 so I have figured out that mixing in octane boost bought in bulk from Amazon at about $2.50 a bottle costs much less than buying the premium octane. My average in my car was - according to the dash - was 20.8 mpg. It's more eco-friendly to own than some new EV because it was made in 2002 and has required very little maintenance and the carbon cost of producing it in Japan did not have to be repeated to build me another car to replace it because it continues to be relatively problem free. EVs have a significantly higher carbon cost to manufacture in total, largely because of the battery materials mining and battery production.

Something I never have done before is pack meals/drinks for a roadtrip, instead stopping off somewhere. This time I did. I'll do the same on the way home. I am not buying anything at all along the way - sometimes I would buy a funny t-shirt or something at a local joint I stop at. I'm no longer able to tip (not that I should have had to) at restaurants where I'm not getting table service. I'll tip only 5% for takeout if they're a restaurant that brings the food out to me (normally I would have done 20%). I budget aggressively (with the goal of being able to retire early and buy in stock market dips like right now) and I'm breaching that budget every single pay cycle without trying and after cutting costs. I've significantly reduced what I buy at grocery stores and for the first time discovered Aldi, which his cheaper-ish but has no "people of Walmart". Anyway, this is how recessions start.

If someone like me - who buys usually the same things every week with very little variables - can demonstrate in his budget that inflation is actually closer to 18%, then where is the government getting 8.5%? The price of chicken at my grocery store alone has gone up 10%. A couple of average steaks that used to cost about $25 (which was high enough) was $44 the other day. I rarely buy or eat red meat but... not 8.5%!

And to think, there are people who make much less than me with mouths to feed and more driving they need to do. We were living a dream during the Trump administration. Maybe not because of him specifically, but because the powers that control prices had predictability and a strong buyer economy to support it. Then we went and printed billions of dollars of "free money" and then did it again before even spending the prior bunch and then did it again and now we are doing it again and will likely do it a few times more under this administration. Wow...

Last couple times I went to Costco everyone coming out the building had 3-4 items in their carts I'm taking mostly empty carts when they all used to be overflowing.

He can call me whatever he wants. Just don't raise a hand at me.

I'll wait 9 months and buy it for $0.10 on the dollar when he's lost his job and his debt load has him crying like a bitch. Might take his boat too.
Currently bouncing offers off other dealers, and they are all willing to beat prices. Maybe I will wait three months and be able to get one in the trim I want for less than $40k.

I’ll go in half on the boat, but I don’t think my Camry will pull it, lol.

Heading out of state to get some pussy.

@MK20 is that an Allis Chalmers? My dad has a 1951 AC HD5 bulldozer with that same engine. IIRC, the engine (when new) only made like 38 hp. You are correct: it is efficient even without a turbo and fancy electronics. It is a fun little machine to push things around with.

It's a John Deere.

And all that pos can do is 70?
I haven't found a truck or suv that can keep up with me past 110.

The 19 Accord tops out at 130, but mine is stock. All I need is a stage 1 tune from Hondata to blow right past that and close up on 150.

And when the road turns to this, brotrucks and mom-mobiles have zero hope of keeping up

Get your Accord out of the parking lot at Walmart and you might find an SUV that you can't keep up with.

Nobody cares anymore. The Cadillac CT5-V is one of the best sports sedans of all time, and yet gets outsold 20:1 by a fancied-up Suburban. Same for any other luxury brand - including the "performance" ones.

So-Cal (OC) $5.39 for regular at the cheaper place local to me. Chevron types are $5.69-5.99 for regular. Diesel has been over $6 for a while now. Ours came down slightly a couple weeks ago and has stabilized around that price. At the peak It was $6 or close to it for regular.
Same up here in Sacto. 5ish for regular while I just pumped supreme for 6.49 the other day at chevron. And its all I use. Give me the best MPG.

Trucks aren’t meant for carving up mountain roads and straitening out the curves at speed.

They are meant for hauling an equipment trailer with a tractor or skid steer and being able to not get stuck in some light off road work.

Try towing a 15k pounds worth of skid steer and trailer with a Honda
I don't do any of that so no fucks given

2019 Accord Sport. 2020 was the last model year the MT was available in any Accord.

As far as I know Civics and Fits are the only US Honda models which you can still get with a manual.
Need to find me a newer civic on manual. Gave my last one to my brother. They do so damn good in fuel for not being hybrid cars.

No reason to go faster at this point. If gas was still under $3 I’d go 90 mph and get 28 MPG, lol.

This is pretty much everyone’s girl right now:

Lol. Never thought I’d find myself flexing with a gay ass Camry.

Life hack pro tip: Buy gay 4 cylinder cars when gas is cheap, and buy big V8’s when gas is knocking on $5 a gallon.

Got a dealer down to $40,000 flat on a 2022 Camaro SS with 2SS trim, and they were kind of butt hurt that I wouldn’t sell them my faggin wagon. Lot was quite full…of big ass SUV’s and Trucks. No Malibu’s were available.

Are you really THAT proud of a honda accord?

For many American's who were squeezin' a nickle before 2022 their inflation is close to 20%. The Government is manufacturing propaganda at a fast pace. Appearing they want to push an "Official Recession" into 2023...... The numbers they are quoting are being pulled out of thin air. The stats they gather are changed as needed. The big players and big companies are reflecting this as the Markets are all declining.... The worse it gets financially, the more diversions will appear (war, formula shortage, monkey pox, bird flu, fuel cost, wheat and the move to allow WHO to have jurisdiction over America).... JMHO

I concur, and believe that is why credit limits are being raised.
