Just picked one of these up based on some good reviews and was on sale. I like the range of the remote, and the entire design of the setup, but...

The thing is QUIET!

I walked 100yds out to test the remote range, and couldnt even tell if it was turning it on because I could not hear it.

My question is whether I have a defective unit, or if it doesnt matter that I think its quiet since obviously canines have superior hearing?

Anyone have any insight into this particular model? I see no reason to spend $200+ for an electronic call if this one is either loud enough and I dont know it, or maybe I need to try a different unit. The calls are good, the setup is good, and the remote works very well.

Have a buddy that owns one of these. Plenty loud and he calls in coyotes.

If you can't hear the call at 100 yards, something is wrong with it.

have you turned it on when right by it and then walked away from it ? can you hear it 100 to 200 yards away ? if not, return it and get another unit.

Yeah I know its on, even though the battery meter was showing 100% I threw some new energizers in there to rule that out, same loudness. I even have it pointing my direction and cant hear it 100yds out. Im going to exchange it tomorrow and hopefully I just got a defective unit.

I have an amplifier and horn speaker from a homemade Ipod call I made last year, Id kindof like to tear into this thing and wire up an auxiliary output to run a second speaker if I get it working right.

my buddy got one. the first time we used it we both noticed that it was very quiet. if you read reviews on cabelas alot of people say they are quiet. i dont know why they would make it so quiet. you shoulda bought a foxpro spitfire for the money.

Well this one only cost me $80 on sale. I read quite a few reviews, most did say they wish it was a little louder, but also most said that it calls in predators as good as anything else, so I dunno.

I got one at the Cabelas sale this past Friday and thought it was quiet to when I powered it up. I am going to give it a shot in the field before I decide if I like it or not. I may end up with something else before its all said and done but for the price , I thought I would try it.

Mine on 5 is pretty darn loud. From 30yards away from the house I can hear it with my storm windows closed. It sounds like you got a bad unit.

When they put the primos name one anything its cheap.It will work but you should of went with a spitfire.Send that one in they will fix it.I might have a FX3 for sale later if your interested.
