hey jcvibby, Indeed they were and I am happy to report that they held up very well. No dents,dings, or scratches. A fresh coat of paint and they are good to go. Also the T post brackets were nice and easy to set up. Thanks again--Adam

Not having my rifle zero'd, having a field zero, and crazy wind definitely made things challenging. Hit the steel, and next shot a miss way off was annoying. Got to learn how to read that wind!

jcvibby, I believe they are your targets, the steel is tough and even the bolt head can take hits and not deform at all, good job, they were easy to get on the Tpost and to come off, one of the post was hit and a chunck was missing but held up just fine.
The paint on the other hand needs some 'touch up" LOL.

I didn't shoot it with the big stuff, but definitely saw it move with it. Setup was pretty interesting with the hammering system. Alan probably was happy that the big rifles loosened them up for removal.

Well, no turkeys this time. But I did get a chance to shoot 1650yd with the 300wm. Shooter app put me real close right off the bat. Ccb shot hit 16" low. Double checked the atmos data, & sure enough it was cooler than what I had entered while getting set up. I was shooting at an old pink frizbee I found out there. Didn't actually hit it but had several that landed within a foot, & a few more within a couple feet.
Had to buck a 20mph head wind almost all the way home. The big Cummins got a good work out.

Getting within a foot of a frisbee at 1650 is damn good in my book BW, lol...

On a side note my Wife and I are celebrating our 6th today and she gave me a Leatherman MUT

... I also traded my pack to JCVibby along with a small donation to his camp for some IPSC targets and whatever random metal plate he threw in, a couple t-post brackets, and a set of rebar hangar brackets. With the roof top prop and the metal we definitely have a mobile range going between all of us. We just need to find some more areas now.

I just found out that Home depot has 20 foot pieces of rebar for $10.98. I can cut those into four 5 foot long chunks, and with the 2x4 end supports, will have more places to hang my steel.

A preview of my improvised hostage target with a 66% IPSC...

I also have a 25% IPSC with the t-bar bracket thanks to JCVibby. The head steel in the photos is 1/2" thick, so we can work it up close and high speed

If anyone needs I have a large commercial rebar cutter and bender, so I can cut up 20' lengths of rebar into 4-5' lengths and save you some money.

Two tips for you, secure the 'bad guy' so the target will not 'walk' when hit making it smaller or larger as it walks.
Also the target will flop around like a broke neck chicken on the smaller diameter re-bar.

Conveyor belt. I'm going to put holes just below where it sits on the rebar and use small carriage bolts with wing nuts and washers so I can clamp the belt against the rebar and it should be solid and allow for quick re-adjustment if ever needed.

Team Send It was kind enough to give me a nice chunk of fire hose yesterday. I have cut it into 30 inch long pieces as that was the average length he was using to support his targets. I also have some extra if anyone needs some.

I have the course outline for the match on the 16th posted, but if anyone who is coming wants to add in more targets, bring some targets and stands and we will try to figure out a way to incorporate them into the stages so everyone will get in more shooting.

The match is limited to 10 shooters, and so far, I only have 5 confirmed. That is fine with me, as with that few shooters, we can easily add in lots more steel for lots more shooting.

Has anything came out of this thread. Any luck finding any spots for some long range type shooting. I am gonna take the bike out this weekend and see what I can uncover. I am in Yelm right now but I am a master at finding spots and areas. Like it was said before though. Finding the spot is only a 1/4 the challenge. Getting permission is the other 3/4.

Have you read the thread? There have been several shoots and matches mentioned in it. Also check out the SHWW thread in this same section, it stands for Snipers Hide Western Washington.

Several of us have found several locations that we are continuing to look further into. You need to remember that it takes time and money, and the last time I checked gas was over $4 a gallon and I've been working a LOT. We've had a couple get togethers and Unknown has been working on creating Practical Rifle shooting matches coming up here in June which will hopefully become a monthly event. The thread is about more than just giving out locations to shoot but also creating a friendly community of shooters in and around the Puget Sound Area. I'm possibly going out tomorrow to check out some more places as well.

Monday is going to get interesting. I'm going to approach more obscure timber management companies with interior properties that don't get solicited as often. I'm also doing some research and I might approach a few private property owners with a land lease proposal like a hunting lease.

I found what might be an interesting place on my way to Port Townsend last week. I told Broker about it, and he was going to look into it. It was a recent clear cut just off the road, and there was a vehicle pull out spot on one end. If it works out when we do a more thorough investigation, we just may have found a gem. It looked like we might be able to get 500-800 yards depending on how the rises and dips in the ground effect visibility from the shooting area.

Hooray! I finally got the electrician to come out and wire up my shop/armory room. We have been in this house for just over a year, and I finally got five 4-way outlets, 4 overhead light boxes, and two wall switches (each controls two lights) installed. I haven't had the county out to do the inspection yet. The room has a separate 20 amp circuit, and as I don't run any heavy machinery, that should be plenty of electricity to run whatever I need.

Nice!. My basement has turned into a reloading/gun project/shooting gear storage area. It is great to have the space for that sort of thing.It wasn't that long ago I had my loading bench set up in a closet.

My many thanks to Unknown for the practical shoot in Eatonville today. I'm very glad to have supported the opening of this new venue and feel indebted for the months of time/negotiation that he invested to finally have a practical shoot happen. Today I enjoyed the product of that effort. Thanks also to Broker for the shooting advice/tips, they enhanced the learning experience I gained from the match.
