I think it would be great to see some of your pictures if you wanted to post them.

Probably a lot of people here have interesting pictures from past conflicts gathering dust or yellowing in drawers.

Unless folks don't want to see that sort of thing in the Vintage Rifles area... I'd love to have people show 'em!

Cheers,

Thanks for sharing great pictures. my grandfather got there at the end, less than a month in country before the whole unit shipped back home. I still have his uniform coat.

Re: Some Pictures from the Trenches

My Wife's Grandfather went into Russia with Operation Barbarossa. She has the family album which has many pictures of vehicles and horse drawn wagons on the roads heading East. Nothing involving combat or carnage.

Likewise, my Older Brother's passed friends was a German Aerial Observer/Photographer in WWI, and Bob has allowed me glimpses of some of the airborne photography, of both the terrain and of the aircraft in flight. The razor clarity is astonishing.

I sent home many rolls of film from 'Nam, but when I got back home, nobody could find any. That's probably actually a good thing. My memory has faded mostly (thankfully); and photos would not be so much nostalgia as discomfort for me.
