Jon, I just saw your sig, do you make the Aadmounts? I am using the AR mount for my 5-20.

OK, I was able to snap a few. They may not all be in as perfect focus as they could be but it should give you a good idea of the reticle:

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Will be nice to have in time for the weather to warm up. I really haven't had enough time to shoot over the last 6 months to make this wait painful for me. Every few weeks I'd remember it and check back, but they probably would have only made it to the ranch a couple times anyway.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Frankly the hardest thing for me has been trying to keep ~ $300 sitting 'liquid'--waiting for this to come in over the last 7 months!

Too many tempting toys out there...I couldn't resist and picked up an Atlas bipod yesterday. Now the race is on to build it back up before mine ships!

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

I love it when a very cool scope comes together. Reminds me of... Victory!!

Thank you for the great pics, Jon.

This is not a $1000 scope. Vortex, whomever, would sell for way more. I just can feel that.

Stoked...

Is why I sent them full payment weeks ago. Besides, I never had a doubt about this instrument.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Yeah buddy, that looks better than I ever figured it would. Glass looks great, 1x looks like a true 1 power from what I can see. Reticle is crisp, illumination looks awesome. Thanks for improving it. Hogs will bleed and steel will ring

Oh, I wouldn't want to be a thief who just kicked in a door only to find himself on the wrong end of it either.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Just added a BOBRO 30mm AR flat top mount to my SS 1-6 order. They are in stock. They have American Defence mounts too.

I'll have the 1-6, Butler Creek caps & the mount in one shipment from SWFA. Makes all the sense in the world to me.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

The 1-6 that a friend ordered very early on before the promotion went live arrived yesterday.

As expected, great glass, appears to be a true 1x on the low end, turrets feel good (40 mils elevation too) and the reticle looks better in person that it does in the pictures-- it's really, really good for both uses at 1x and 6x.

Illumination looks great although I didn't get a chance to try it outside in the afternoon to see if setting 11 was daylight bright-- but setting #11 is extremely bright inside the house!

The thread protectors are nicely done and did ship installed on the scope. The thread protectors have small notches machined in them so can use a plastic punch and tap them to cinch them down or to loosen them.

Really looking forward to receiving mine.

I ordered near the end of the sale, so I know that I am going to have to wait a while.

It makes me wonder how long we will wait in between the batch shipments.

Hopefully it will be worth it.

Excellent. I now have an entirely new rifle this is going on. :)

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Glad to hear great reviews and that the wait may almost be over and well worth it. Walked up to my back door today and saw a box from SWFA and got excited for a second, then realized it was the misc. stuff I ordered last week! damn. Does anyone know if the 1-4 quick throw lever will fit the 1-6? I have not seen one listed for the 1-6.Probably because it's so new, but figured I'd ask.

I had a 1-4 that I returned for a warranty issue and just received a 1-6. I put the throw lever that was on the 1-4 on the 1-6 and it fits just fine.

As already noted, it will work. However, SWFA is working on a model specific to the 1-6.

It would drain the battery even when turned off. SWFA gave me my original purchase price in trade for the 1-6. I think it was a good deal for me as I upgraded to more magnification without loosing any money in the 1-4.

Haven't been to the range yet with the 1-6 but it is looking great so far. I think it is just the ticket for a 16" AR-10 and am thinking about putting another on a 16" AR-15.

looking forward to seeing this on some spr'ish rifles.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

So, any idea of how many of these are actually shipping out to hide members so far?

Anyone who got in on the 10,000 code been notified of shipment yet, or is is just very early pre-orders and those who got in on the code for just the 1-6?

While not definitive info a friend who ordered his 1-6 soon after the scope was announced but before any of the promotions went live received his on Monday (1/14.)

I hit "submit" on my 1-6 order about 20 seconds after the 5K code (for the 1-6 only) went live and I've yet to receive a shipping notice.

We're going to have to sit tight a little while longer. Hopefully when mine ships the turret caps are ready.

I ordered the 5-20 / 1-6 combo literally seconds to minutes after the 10,000 code went live. No shipment notification yet.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Thanks for the update guys. I ordered a couple weeks after the 10,000 went live and am just trying to guage how much time I have left. Guess I'll get anxious once I hear those who ordered when the 10,000 code went active are getting shipping notices.

Outstanding!

I rolled into my office last night around midnight after being on a job site since 7am and found a really shitty note from one of our tenants that basically mirrored this thread - I'm a liar, I'm irresponsible, everything is my fault.

I won't bore you with a total play-by-play, but the dude is a prick and drafted up a very 'professional' looking document to bundle a broken water heater (which I'd never been told about) in with a fucked up closet door that I already paid a contractor to fix (and they didn't) from last fall. However - according to the document - both items are known ongoing problems dating back to the start of his lease.

In the end it just re-affirms some realities of life. Some peoples children are absolute cunts and you can't rely on anyone but yourself.

The course of this thread is exactly the reason I didn't get in on the group buy in the first place. Believe it or not this isn't the first "just in time" production scenario to have rough moments, nor will it be the last. No offense intended towards SWFA, its just the way it is. I lost $5000.00 on a deal like this (as a customer) and won't be taking part in another regardless of how reputable the company is.

That said - I'll absolutely be buying an SS1-6 when they become a stock item unless Leupold or Bushnell (or SWFA) puts out something truly spectacular - and has them ready to ship - before then.

From where I'm standing, assuming product keeps flowing, I'd say you guys absolutely stuck the landing.

Took the 1-6 to the range today, clear skies and bright sun, for this time of year it doesn't get any sunnier in Virginia.

On the highest setting, the reticle was only slightly visible as a shade of red. Would not call it daylight visible at all. Indoors, with all the lights on and the blinds open, I would say it is "daylight visible" but not outside. Nothing close to an Aimpoint but I wasn't really expecting that.

Sorry, no pictures from the range.

Only shot at 100 yards but tracking looked good on a single box test at that distance.

I'm happy with the scope after one day of shooting. More to come.

From an old review of the SWFA SS 1-4x member Hokie stated,

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">With all the smoke & mirrors out of the way, what you pay for in the Short Dot is daytime illumination akin to an Aimpoint. This particular aspect intrigued me so I spent some time with it. Stacked up to an Aimpoint H-1 at its highest setting, the S&B’s max brightness was one illumination below it. The SS’ illumination was one brightness setting below that.</div></div>

Your evaluation of the brightness does not sound to be on the same page as this. I am certainly curious to hear more on the brightness aspect.

Re: SWFA-SS Tax Day Group Buy: 1-6, 5-20, and more!

Looks awesome. Can't wait for mine!

I'd like to request that those that have received them add in their order confirmation #s i.e. 1885xx so the rest of us who are (im)patiently waiting can see where we sit.
