Re: TC Icon
A couple months ago I got a T/C Venture .308 in the weather shield and posted a couple of ?? about the stock and such. The venture has a round action similar to a Rem 700 and is pillar bedded albeit in a cheap polymer stock. Some wise folks here suggested not to bother bedding it further but I did take some marine-tex epoxy and fill the cavities in the fore end (used a wooden tongue depressor as a trowel as it nicely fit the contour) then after a couple days smoothed the excess out with a round surf rasp so the barrel still free floated. I also pulled the recoil pad and filled the butt stock with some expanding foam. Made the whole set up a bit more solid. I also shimmed the recoil lug slot with a piece of .015" brass shim at the rear. Haven't shot it since cause I had to send my scope back to Vortex because some piece of s@#t dislodged on the optics internally and landed right near the lower right quad of the recticle (very distracting!) sorry about the long story, but bottom line, I couldn't pop for the extra bucks for the Icon, but the Venture shoots real well, MOA as advertised.
