Rifle Scopes What's the word on these green laser designators?

Re: What's the word on these green laser designators?

No adj output. Just beam size. They do work!! Disadvantages are that animals can see them. Played around w/one on some cows that were bedded down and if you put it on them they would get up after a few seconds. The beam is also highly visable to others. A friend of mine can shoot his 1000 yd target w/one of the 50mm versions.

Poor Quality, even worse service

I had one for demonstration on the range, mounted on an AR10. It worked for about 18 rounds, and lost its focus; it was still on but not projecting anything useful.

So, I sent it back for service, before even selling it. That was 6 months ago with no response.

Good idea, poor execution. Wait for a better quality.

Re: Poor Quality, even worse service

Buddy of mine tried using one to shoot some beavers , he was not able to get it to work. It was cold and he said they are temp sensitive.

Re: Poor Quality, even worse service

they are temp sensitive, cats can't seem them, hogs can't seem to see them, and k9's can't seem to see them unless you move around a lot. mine works well, but they are temp sensitive.

Re: Poor Quality, even worse service

They came out with new "Sub Zero" versions this year that continue to function below 32 degrees.

All animals can see the laser but it seems to spook some more than others. We successfully used them for hogs and coyotes.

We have the base model (ND3) at $229.95 right now.

Re: Poor Quality, even worse service

I picked up a sub zero 40mm model and it works great in the cold. I love the thing for night hunting, BUT the down side is everyone can see and they do spook animals more than a red light. Plus side is you can really see eyes a long long ways out. All and all I think it was a good investment.
