My daughter and I were going somewhere a couple months back, and she asked me why a local school’s mascot was Snoopy. I explained to her that their team was called the Flyers, and since Snoopy was the “Famous World War II Flying Ace”, they chose Snoopy as their Mascot. Then I sang a little bit of Snoopy vs. The Red Barron. No shit, the next day, that picture you have there was advertised all over my Facebook, google searches, everywhere. This finally convinced me that our phones ARE listening to everything we say.

BTW, it is a pretty cool picture.

This is a rough POS... we tore it apart yesterday. Lots of missing wiring, the tower had a crack 1/3 of the way around the base. No trailer brakes, going to need all new wiring and who knows what else. This one is going to be a bitch

i am zero techno savy,
i was telling one of the guys what to do, one day, as my phone started to ring. i continued telling him to finish cleaning rabbit cages and
blah blah blah, i hit the decline button on my phone and it offer me a message to send as a text to caller.
the suggested text for me? im busy getting the rabbit cages cleaned cant talk now...

So that’s actually on canvas...

I did a ridiculous Internet search to find a guy who actually created that picture. Then I started doing searches to see if he could actually could be contacted... and he has a Web store where he sells some of his art.

I reached out to him and asked him if he could make the large format picture of that, and the rest is history.

Finally a break from rain, cold, and wind. Iowa has 10 nice days a year and today was one of them. Mowing, tree trimming, equipment maintenance, etc.... The Red Buds are finally blooming, Ribeye ? over charcoal with a stick of Black Cherry, and the fire ? pit to end the day.

Lunch at Barbadimos Piraeus restaurnat and our hotel balcony view in Athens today;

The restaurant was absolutely packed.....overflowing with locals. Sunday is a big family day out. Particularly now, in the spring. The weather is perfect. Not a cloud in the sky and 72 degrees. The restaurant was just a zoo. They took us to where our table "was going to be".......They had to go downstairs and bring up a table and two chairs. We just rolled with it. It actually was a hell of a lot of fun.

The third pic above was looking into the kitchen through the window right next to our table. They make eveything fresh there, including the meat balls. Athens seems a bit like Tijuana on the Agean, but the interaction we have had with the locals has been quite good. Very nice, honest and helpful people. They had an outdoor rave last night (this morning) that went until sun up. Loud music and fireworks on the hour, until sunrise.

Gettin' on the boat in the AM and heading to Kusadasi. Will be our first time in Turkey, really looking forward to it.

As long as you stay away from specific border towns in Turkey it is really nice.

The cave hotels in Goreme are something everyone should visit.

Yes, I have looked at the Cappadocia region and would really like to visit. I'm just a white, casper milquetoast, westerner and am venturing into Turkey one toe at a time. This trip is a bit of a "first run trial" for my wife and I. If we like it and feel safe, we will venture much deeper into Turkey on our next trip. I very much want to see Cannakale, Dardenelles, Marmara, the Hellespont, Bosphorous straights, Blue mosque, etc.

It's been pretty slow, these were just off the ridge on a south facing hillside. I was at the end of my walk and I saw a tree down the hill. I said, "that is a perfect looking tree" so down the hill I went. Everything else we found has been the smaller grey's. Next week things should pick up.

Yeah, Mississippi Canyon. Deepwater Proteus for Shell.

I did a lot of work for Chevron from 2012-2016. India, Clear Leader, Inspiration, Asgard, Sharav, and Santa Ana. The only one I never got to go on was the Deep Seas.

Didn't drill a lot of JSM wells but Inspiration did a lot of drilling in the Tahiti field.

I was supposed to catch up my banking, billing, and finish getting my taxes together today.
I got the banking caught up at least.
The weather and timing was perfect for what I wanted to try with transitioning the clover field to sunflowers, so the rest of my day went towards that.
I broadcasted the sunflower seeds across the waning clover. Then I mowed it into a thick green slurry to go over the seeds and hold moisture to them. We'd just had a good rainfall last night, so it was slushy.
My hope is that this will be an effective no till method and that sunflowers will be sprouting in just a few days. Cool nights should provide decent moisture and mild sunny days are forecast until the weekend, when it turns a bit more in the direction of Summer.
The Grass Out Max (Clethodin) that I bought for the Christmas tree plot and perennial clover plots is proving to be invaluable, as research indicates that it will not harm sunflowers or wildflowers (tinkering with them too).
Time will tell.

We even got a brief shower just as I finished up and a nice rainbow appeared for a bit as I was feeding the fish.

That should look pretty awesome when they begin to flower. Nothing cooler than looking at a field of sunflowers, and knowing exactly where the sun is located. Makes for some cool time lapse photography too....
