Well this is less than impressive, but I hauled this shit home this evening. Needs a scrubbing with a brush.

I would really like to see what you do with this. I am forever finding interesting stumps and blowdown at MIL farm. Not to mention the remains of her vendetta against cedar trees. Over 4,000 cut down in the last 6-7 years.
First thing that ran through my head when seeing this was....someone get this guy a fucking BLAST bandage.
Got the little 300 whisper that Cash used for deer this year, chopped down 8”. Figures I would cut the 22 down to pretty well match it. I had to open up the forend a bit to clear the 338 can.

my goal is a good combo of accuracy and reliability. Not into jammomatics....
Really, fun shooting is the goal. Those items just make it more funnerer.

The 22 is a spikes bolt system and their lothar Walter barrel. It’s a really quite accurate for what it is. They don’t make them anymore sadly.
I can't say much about cutting cedar. I have several cedar pieces. My future end table piece... I have a 3" thick live edge cedar slab 24" in diameter. SC tree.
This piece however, will get cleaned and sealed. No more cutting on this one

It was. I had 3 come in but they came from behind me on another piece of property that I dont have permission to hunt....yet.

My deer trail walk to the 760 and 1K target. Good exercise with tolerable temperatures of late. This gets kinda rough with deeper snow, wind, and negative temps. No fresh sign today of much moving around except pheasant. Five were picking through the bean stubble to my right as I walked in.

The backyard bunnies were out of corn, so this A.M. a short run to the feed plant was in order.

It's been awhile (O.K., several years) since I trekked around on these things. Realized I missed the quiet serenity of show shoeing on a calm cold ND morning, not to mention the exercise will help the gut. Need to drag out the ski poles and figure out a better binding system. Not in my 20's anymore.

Rough weather today so I strung the 22 out to 100. Just a “bucket o bullets” and a hard R-L wind.
Been a while since the prairie dog towns were active. Awfully nice of them to come out and play today.
