I don’t understand when I did it on my laptop the photo was therePictures please...
It’s a 14x very clean got it from a friendVery nice.
You have the scope I have been searching for. What magnification?
USMC rifle teams left many of their barrels in the raw.
The first target is 168 smk and 47.4 gr 4064View attachment 6916838
This is LC Match
That difinitely give me wood...

Added:
Are you having the front screw bedded? Or, not using it?
It is lookin' good! The barrel tension adjustment screw?
Seems the USMC just used a dummy screw/nut and left the barrel completely free floated. Ill be doing same. The Douglas has not been dovetailed for the tension adjustment.
Unlike USMC I am asking the builder to install pilars and bed the receiver.
Figure another week or so my best guess.
Looks exactly as I had hoped. I feared that big Douglas would have required too much wood removal from the forend but its exactly as I hoped it would be.
And God help ya if you don't slime that action up enough with release agent...btdtForend is complete to allow free float...

Action screw bores are opened up for pillars.

Rear pillar will flow into trigger slot so the trigger slot will be remachined when the bedding is cured.

Mocking up the action to make sure all is well before the goo gets applied....

Looking forward to seeing it brother!!Not done yet....
Useless endeavor without a Range Report.
I’m curious, what did it end up weighing as pictured?
Hi guys and thanks for all the interest in this rifle build.
This rifle was built through some very difficult circumstances for our company, but ended up being somewhat therapeutic for us as we recovered. It’s the first rifle we’ve completed since the death of a 17-year-old employee this spring. I have really appreciated Phil’s patience as we took so long to complete the build.
To answer the question about the weight of the rifle, it weighs 11 lbs. 3 oz. That may not qualify as a “svelte” but I think it’s not bad for A 26” heavy barrel.
You’ll find a few more photos at the link below, along with a summary of the work completed in this build.

We are looking forward to building another one of these rifles soon!

Thanks Phil!
Now I’m looking forward to you getting a scope on this thing and letting us know how it shoots! I can’t imagine it will be anything other than deadly, but I’ll be anxious until I see those target photos posted! Anticipating some amazing groups!
The last rifle we sent out fully accurized was an early 1950s .300 H&H Super Grade (link below). Despite having a somewhat imperfect factory barrel, bedding the action brought the groups from 2 MOA down to sub-1/2 MOA. With the same bedding, Phil’s rifle with its new Douglas barrel should easily beat a used factory Sporter barrel. If it shoots worse than 1/4 MOA groups, I’ll be disappointed.

All the parts for the next one are ready when you are : )Hi guys and thanks for all the interest in this rifle build.

It's in hand and it's a shoulder cannon.
Hey, looking for a photo of you with that thing! My gallery is calling for it...

You are going to be in there next to a retired undersheriff from Washington and a freshly re-elected judge from Texas. We're running a regular law enforcement armory out here!
The rifle definitely is beautiful. Add pmc in there and ....it sort of balances outWow that is Beautiful!
Just as a matter of curiosity here, do any of you torque your action screws? If so how much torque do you use. My stock is bedded without pillars, I've been getting fliers out of the groups when I shoot. I'm thinking maybe I have the screws too tight.
Thanks
Kevin
I’ve been shooting 175’s with 4064 and H4350. Lots of potential for both but the bedding situation needs to be addressed. The previous owner had it bedded and I have been spending alot of time trying to fix that mess.Any idea what loads you're gonna run? -06 has serious potential with modern bullets/powders and Berger's 200-20X has been making a helluva showing in F-TR matches lately...
Yes I was aware of the middle screw problem, thanks. The middle screw should be just enough to hold the front of trigger guard and rear of mag box.
Any actual torque beyond that will only warp the action. I normally just set them for the floor plate to rest solidly on the screw head and be at the correct height. That “quiets the rifle down” when carrying it.
