ANOTHER new feature on Strelok Pro!

I am continuously impressed with what Igor Borisov is doing with the Strelok Pro ballistic app! He constantly improves it. I own a few of the other major ballistic calculator apps, just so I could compare. Strelok Pro wins, hands down!

So, those already using Strelok Pro are familiar with entering your parameters and then hitting the "Calculate" button on the main page:

Now there is a "HUD" feature that appears if you "long-click" the "Calculate" button. "Long click" meaning that you press and hold the button. It produces a simplified and easier to read display of your turret values. You can also change the wind and distance parameters from this window:

I also discovered a couple of Easter eggs in strelok Pro today.

The first is that if you tap on the turret settings in the ballistic Solution on the homepage, it will toggle between 1-3/4 format and clicks. (Circled in orange)

The second Easter egg is if you long tap on the rifle information on the homepage, you'll get a quick-change pop-up where you can change the cartridge that you're using (instead of drilling down through a couple of pages). Cool!

    Another Strelok Pro Easter egg!

The developer is constantly tweaking and improving this app!

Not much occasion to use this really, here in Florida, since most of us are shooting at nearly 0-degrees.

You can use the camera to set the slope angle.

First, you've got to check that option in the settings.

Then tap on the slope angle box on the home screen.

Then you'll see this camera view. Put the crosshair on the target and hit "OK." It will enter the measurement (-11 degrees in this case) into that field.

If you tap on the "0," it will zero out the slope angle field.

    Pretty neat, eh?

Anyone having issues with the latest version (5.07) of Strelok Pro on their iPhone? For whatever reason, after the update when I try to go into the G1 or G7 bullet menu and try to select the bullet brand or caliber it crashes the app. Does the same thing when I go into the factory ammo menu and try to select Caliber or Vendor. Been using the app for years and never had this issue before the last update.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the app (and lost all my data dag-nabbit!) hoping that would fix it, but no dice. Using an iPhone 5 with IOS v10.3.3 if it matters.

I think the IOS you’re running may be out of date for the app, which Crazy Ivan keeps doing development work on - the most recent upgrade may have been the final straw in that sense.

Maybe try upgrading to latest IOS and try again? Could be time for a new phone?

The strelok developer pointed out to me that if you do not have the current version, you can go to Google Play Store, pull up strelok, and click the update button. The current version is 4.9.5.

where in the app can you check and see what version you have? I have a viper pst 4-16x50 and that scope isn't listed... I figured it would be but maybe I don't have the app updated?

Strelok Pro has it. It is fairly far down on the list under the Vortex EBR-1 Reticles you just need to choose MOA, MRAD, SFP or FFP, whichever you have.

If you've updated, and you can't find the reticle because it doesn't show up on your phone in the list in Strelok Pro you'll have to click on About, click on Send e-mail to Igor Borisov and explain your dilemma, so you can get it fixed. All my reticles show up fine for all my rifles and scopes, and that's quite a few different brands.

Just because there isn't a 4-16, doesn't mean there isn't the exact same reticle for a different power... Vortex is pretty standard across the board. And since you have a ffp, then it doesn't matter anyway because the subtensions are exactly the same.

People do not want to hear this, but the reticle feature is a distraction for both the developer and shooter. For the developer, it takes time away just trying to manage the new reticles and for the shooter a crutch.

Sure some are going to totally disagree with me and say how handy it is to visualize the drop in their scope. But unless you have electro optics, that process is slower than taking the time to truly know your reticle inside and out.

I would say, if you find that you need the perfect reticle in an app to show you the drop, you need to spend more time understanding your scope and drop.. just saying..

just seen that. mines showing 5.17. i'll check again but I couldn't get the Pst 4-16 FFP to pull up. nothing 4-16 in vortex.
You are going to have to look for the Reticle name which is EBR-1 and then choose either the MOA, or MRAD version, and SFP, or FFP whatever version you own; also it isn't listed as Viper PST, plus "Vortex" is the last word listed for each reticle not the first.
Manufacturer's often use the same reticle for several scopes, Zeiss is a prime example for that, so I guess the designer of Strelok Pro decided to list scopes by the corresponding reticle because the data you receive allows you to hit your target using this particular reticle which might be used by several scopes and he didn't want to have to list that same reticle over and over again with the addendum of another scope name.

This is how they are listed:

    EBR-1 MRAD SFP, 4-16x Vortex
    EBR-1 MRAD FFP, 4-16x Vortex
    EBR-1 MOA SFP, 4-16x Vortex
    EBR-1 MOA FFP, 4-16x, Vortex

Yours is either the EBR-1 MRAD FFP, 4-16x, Vortex, or the EBR-1 MOA FFP, 4-16x, Vortex depending on whether your scope is in milliradian, or minute of angle.

Thanks Racer88 for the how-to on using the camera angle - have not used that before.

I'm using an iPhone 6 and updates are automatic for me - now using 5.17. You can find the version by opening 'settings' and scrolling to the bottom, click on 'about strelok pro' and it will show what version you have.

This is a great app and pretty much nails my trajectory dead on. I use is most for the 22lr tactical shoots - they say winds and holds for 22lr very similar to 308win. Igor has an amazing data base of ammo, bullets, scope reticles, to pick from.

Yup - I'm a big fan of Strelok Pro.
