A little update on my AI AT .308
It's come a long way since the Elite Sand Thumbhole. It knows that it was born in Elite Sand and therefore is still better than all other AIs

Its very close, but there is probably 3-4 mm of gap between the sunshade/scope cap and the forend rail. If I change mounts on that rifle, I would like to get a 1.7" 20 moa mount to give it some additional room. The current mount is a 1.5" 20 moa.

I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction for custom made barrels for the post-2014 AI AXMC? I have a long action currently with a 6.5CM barrel, but was looking at the possibility of a 6.5 x 47 or 25 x 47 Lapua barrel if those are possible.

Lots of great smiths out there. Fritz at Black Canyon has made AI barrels for my AT and MC. I would highly recommend his work.
The hardest part is getting a blank. The 1.35" shank is tough to find. I have a new 308 barrel being done by Dave Tooley for my MC and he said 6 months to get the blank.
No place in particular. I buy them whenever I see them as long as they are Kreiger, PROOF SS or Bartlein Heavy contour in the right twist.
Not sure. But Frank rotates the factory one 180° because it’s more comfy to him.
Competent gunsmiths grind/buff oversize pads to fit wood stocks, so I’ll bet they could also grind down an AI one to your specs.

That side rail has sling mount; i did not use a bag rider today. Had a sotek one that i was not too found off. With a schmedium heavy and short atlas i made it work.
What would make a bolt “sticky”. Seems like it started after it got left out in snow /sleet at a match.
Have cleaned and recleabed. Tried oil grease hornady one shot etc. Doesn’t look like the bolt stop is mushroomed.
Bought a second atx used. One serial number away from being consecutive. Much much much smoother. First one has a pile of rounds through it so don’t think it’s about being broken in.

Have you swapped the sticky bolt into the second rifle to confirm it's the bolt itself, and not the action or locking ring of the first rifle?
Is it sticky with the firing pin assembly removed?
Hit the action and bolt with brake cleaner and then relube and see

Clean your chamber properly. Description says 6,5 creedmoor only though
I have had this happen
Clean the inside of the action and the chamber with a carbon remover. Go through the magwell and use a soft cloth. I use a 410 shotgun mop for the chamber. It will remove a ton of carbon.
I then clean and dry the bolt with carbon cleaner and use a good grease on the rear of each of the 6 lugs. Put a light film of grease in the grooves of the bolt body. Finally I put a thin film of grease on the bottom area of the shroud housing that slides across the rear of the action.
Grease not oil. Will run like new.
Am I the only one who wet patches molybdenum in his barrel & firing chamber so he doesn't have to carbon scrub?

I'm quite the fan of it, as someone who uses it in his sports cars as well. I don't see it as a fad. And I've had positive results with it.

Oil analysis and science says otherwise. If it's stupid and it works, then it's not stupid.
I would bet the carbon build up somewhere is what causes it. Moisture causes that blue/green crap to build especially when shooting suppressed in high humidity and temp swings.
Assuming it’s doing this with no round in it? Just the travel of the bolt?
My next guess would be the mag if it’s in the rifle

PVA is doing one rn. Not as good as their bf sale was, but the ospreys Ive had are pretty nice barrels.
