Mother in law is a raccoon style…actually she just sucks lol
I started restacking our dishwasher and she had a remark like “you think you know better”…but not that bitchy
I said no there’s a right and wrong way to load dishwashers and not all are the same.
Then she said oh this one different..
I said no I read the manual while I was installing it, did you read the fucking book

They have to constantly check/ tighten /adjust large flanges, pipe connections etc. Two guys with the same tool, one could put wrench on nut, the other hit hammer with hammer. Another has a large straight tapered tool on wrench or hammer, used to turn stuck valves. If you think about it, it saves them from carrying two large heavy tools when they are climbing all over those towers. There are numerous Chem plants, and refineries in my area and have had friends that work them all their lives. I have a sticker some where with two very strong arms with similar tools in each hand. I will try to find it. The guys that do this work are EXTEMELY fit.

I don't care for horseradish based cocktail sauce so this in a bit of ketchup is my go to substitute.
One of our favorite things to do back when we had a boat was to sit out in the cove of a busy Texas lake boat ramp on holidays and watch the rookies try to back their boats into the water.

All baccer, farmer Ahole usually grows a few thousand acres of it a year. Lots of drying barns around us still and see bales rolling down the highway on semi trucks still

I hand wash and oil my kitchen knives. That German stuff my wife likes can go in the dishwasher.
It’s my go-to mixing bourbon, but now that it’s gotten so hard to find I usually use 1792 or Horse Soldier for my old fashioned mixes. That bottle was sitting out to give to a friend as an early (really early) Christmas gift because he’s in town.
Love all my brown liquors… Not so much brown lickers; @clcustom1911 notwithstanding of course, he’s cool.
Rules: Never heard of a “Hefeweizen Whiskey”, but just discovered this brown(ish) liquor made right here in our little town; looking forward to trying it out:

Some of my favorite sipping bourbons are Booker's, Baker's, Basil Hayden's, Willet but I'm not a big fan of Jim Beam or Knob Creek which some might find odd since most of those are Beam holdings IIRC.
Bourbon has a more complexity than people give it credit for maybe because most people seem to cut it with coke or pepsi.
Which bourbon you put in a manhattan or old fashion or even bread pudding can make or break the recipe and it isn't always the [subjective] best top shelf bottle that makes the best cocktail.

I'm looking for an ECBP myself.... Batch B524 or C923 (although I think those might be done, except for the 2ndary market). After that, maybe a 1792 BIB. I already have Woodford Reserve (both regular and double Oaked) and Bulleit Bourbon. After that, I might consider a KC 12 or 15.
But, definitely, no 2ndary market stuff. And that means, no Pappy. Only a tasting shot just to see what it tastes like is all I'll consider with that, unless I can get it for standard MSRP. (I know... Lots of luck with that)!

I used to drink a lot of Woodford and Maker’s Mark, until I was introduced to ‘good’ bourbon by some folks with far more discerning palates than mine. They’re good, just too sweet for me now.
My brother loves Bulleit, but I just don’t like it… It’s not bad, I just don’t like the flavor for some reason.
Basil Hayden is actually a really good bourbon for the price; it’s what I usually use to introduce folks to bourbon.
For sippin’ bourbon, pretty much anything from the Buffalo Trace line works for my palate. So, Buffalo Trace (as mentioned above, used to just use it for mixed drinks), Weller, EH Taylor, Eagle Rare, and of course Blanton’s.
I used to have a standing order for a case of Blanton’s every 6 months out at the Class VI store at Randolph…at $26 a bottle! LoL. Those days are long gone now of course. Down to 5 and 1/2 bottles though, and haven’t seen one in the wild in over a year, so I’m rationing those! LoL
I’ve had Pappy, and it’s good, but for the money (and availability) I far prefer Blanton’s and/or Eagle Rare…sometimes the EH Taylor depending on what we’re having for dinner.
Rules:
Weller’s is an excellent wheated bourbon, if you like that variation. Smoke Wagon, out of Las Vegas of all places, is a pretty good bourbon too, but a little hot for my taste. I usually just step right up to a rye if that’s what I’m feelin’.
Speaking of rye… I pretty much only drink Whistle Pig now. Once you have it, you can’t go back to any others, LoL.
Edit: Only exception is 3 shots of Rittenhouse rye every year on 19 November… The taste actually kind of sucks, especially for doing shots, but it has to be Rittenhouse rye on that date…for reasons!

I use Rittenhouse or Pikesville to make Manhattans.
I like Elijah well enough but I don't like chasing batches, I wish you luck.
Blanton's ... I had a bottle I was sipping on a while back I picked up for $60-something then a guy came over and flipped out begging for the "honor" of a taste ... I was confused then he started explaining the horses and the obsession with collecting them so I checked the price and I don't drink Blanton's anymore.
Same thing happened with Balvenie 21, last bottle I bought was sub $70 and when I went to replace it the price was $125+ ...
I have no idea what the price is on either of them anymore.
I don't much care for the Smoke Wagon gold label stuff. Their black label (uncut unfiltered) is good, their red label (private barrel) is really good, and their blue label (Desert Jewell) is really good.
Smoke wagon also has three different ryes. The green label (malted rye) is okay, the silver label (bottled in bond) is really good, I much prefer the white label (blender's select).
Good luck finding any of the ryes or Desert Jewell right now. The private barrel pops every once in a while.
