Shot Show 2025 Rumours

I have seen a few guys show up with ridiculously expensive airgun setups at the range, including insulated scuba tanks etc. and some of the groups at 100yds are impressive. From what I've gathered it seems to be for folks that didn't get frustrated enough trying to chase rimfire groups at 100yds cause for all the issues getting a good rimfire setup, ammo it likes, and good enough conditions outdoors to really get nice rimfire groups, airguns at that distance seem infinitely more finicky and inconsistent with more voodoo required. :ROFLMAO:

Airguns are fun, but finicky as fuck.

They rely on so many o-rings to be operational, and when one goes down it can be an absolute PITA to troubleshoot.

I feel like more often than not, my airguns have issues.

probably because people expect airguns to be cheap, and o-rings are cheap.

I think if umarex and co can get airgun energies up into 22mag range with precision-fitted ground-surface seals I'd be willing to pay serious money for one

It looks like the industry is shifting.

Well, at least everyone seems to be settling on a general standard for the increased bolt radius and mag geometry, with everything else staying standard AR-15.

the 6.8 SPC mags also play well for 350 legend and 6mm Max, according to others on here, hopefully we can avoid a Large-frame standards problem.

@Lowlight maybe see if you can ask the guys at PSA/Surefire/LWRCI if there's been any thought given to trying for a SAAMI standard for these "mid-frames"?

I am gonna be there early (unfortunately) but also I can bring Lives directly to HIDE TV

For anything you want I can create a SHOT SHOW 2025 HIDE TV Thread you give me your wish list and I will get the videos for the Hide TV Channel

Let me know who you want to see ?
Crossover/ MPVO FFP optics. Hopefully with a usable reticle on both ends. If you run into something like that I’m sure it would make a few of us on here excited

I'm really confused why they went this route for the lower. This defeats the purpose of 6Arc in the first place. 6Arc is great because its literally just an upper swap on my current AR with some different mags. I'm glad to see them FINALLY enter the 6arc game but this was not the way to do it. In my opinion.

Methinks the purpose of the 6 ARC is to make money for businesses. As such, making consumers buy a whole new rifle instead of just an upper makes sense, assuming they sell.

Oof. Never buy the first of anything that PSA puts out. They're retooling their JAKL already, so it'll take 12-18 months from when it releases to guntubers shitting on them before PSA is inclined to work any kinks out.

Hell of a brand though, they keep getting folks to pay to be beta testers.

and see this under 1500? maybe 2k?
TFBTV had a blog where they said $2K for the LRF on its own. But with BidenBucks replacing the USD, I could see that being double, if not a bit more. Though to be fair, at $4K-$5K it's still better than a MARS-Lc if the specifications are accurate.

And I think that was for their "LRF-15K" which is, well, for 15 KM. In the Magpul video they insinuated that it was more military sales but the Maztech guys actually commented that wasn't the case on the video in response to someone.

I bring that up because I hope that $2K 2022 dollar price was in reference to the 15K.

Airguns are getting better and better every year but there are still hurdles to overcome and I think the day will arrive when the 22rf standard velocity will be eclipsed at long range due to the extremely low SD that can be tuned in via controlling aspects of air delivery.

Also it's ridiculous how under built airgun frames and barrel systems can be.

Yes expensive to get started depending!!! But once one has a compressor and swage dies these are super cheap to shoot. For example I can swage 4400 slugs for $160.

Also some slugs have higher BC's than 22rf bullets. The Altaros 40gr in .21.

But here's what a state of the art BB gun/JK can do at 100Y. See post #77 here. https://www.snipershide.com/shootin...dispersion-what-is-the-culprit.7225932/page-2

my take is that basically 6 Arc is gaining traction Grendel never did because of it's origins and selection/use by certain professional end users. With that traction has come demand for durability in magazines and internals that the standard AR platform simply cannot provide.

I think we will continue to see development and concurrent evolution of stuff for standard frame 6 Arc ARs, along with stuff for these "mid-frames" that are really intended to be for hard professional use guns in .220 Russian based calibers (6Arc, 338Arc, 22Arc, 7.62x39, 6.5Grendel, 6.8 SPC II)

On the list of wishes I'd like someone to make a precision rimfire AR upper or kit to make your own upper etc. that actually has high quality parts, not the usual junk rimfire parts, without the $4k price tag on the JP. It seems like the amount of $ people will throw at precision rimfire stuff now is off the chart (and really guys have been throwing $1000+ on 10/22 setups for decades).

Something with a real quality barrel designed for accuracy without a with a huge chamber for reliability with garbage ammo, and a quality square bolt. We've seen one or the other but I don't think anyone makes both outside the seriously priced JP. There are a couple promising possibilities that seem to be on the horizon.

I'm not going to lie, I love watching PSA release videos. I can see why so many don't mind being PSA beta testers. Although, I don't have much PSA stuff (I think just a lower).

I really enjoy PSA as a company these days despite having had quite a few "issues" with them in the past. I've had a few guns that have had issues but they've always been responsive in getting them fixed up.

A lot of those offerings sure do look fun. A large portion of the gun owning public just wants something different than another AR15. There's nothing wrong with that.

Went by Safariland, guys asking about the Liberty HPs up above.

Recharging model, plus dual fuel modes, 2-AAA, or 1-CR123
Can you ask them to work on their website? Would be nice to be able to go to a specific holster model and see what the fits are rather than having to use their holster finder that doesn't allow you to do a partial search.

RCBS releasing a new Matchmaster powder funnel, @DeathBeforeDismount you can rejoice. Looks like a near exact clone of the Hornady (fitting).

Not the biggest news, but I've been curious if Hodgdon will direct RCBS to increase their quasi-premium product SKUs

I mean a budget friendlier semi auto 50 is intriguing enough…..just don’t wanna end up pulling a Kentucky ballistics

Shooters Global has an upgraded pulse, called the pulse pro. It has a built in dope card and shot timer. If it works as well as the regular pulse, I'm sold.

Not sure it's for me but they also have some AR glasses that do some neat things.
