Curious, whats the recoil like on this as a field cartridge compared to other 7mms?First shots in the new 7 prc factory ammo 180 eldm. Avg speed was 2957 26 inch barrel. That group was 14 plus shots suppressed and a few with the brake. Pretty happy with the PVA prefit so far. Put 40 rounds down barrel today going to play with some handloads with n565 and 190 berger. I did resize some and primer a few wasn't to thrilled how the primer felt already. At the .200 line measured these are just the last numbers number 31 to 315 fired and sized 305 worried it might not be enough but we will see
Aaron Davidson over at Gunwerks made a comment on his podcast recently that the 7 LRM would become the new 7 PRC through Hornady. I’m looking forward to seeing it become standardized. Seems like a great cartridge.
Can you post a picture of the ring you found?Check your prc brass there is a ring on case head on some factory ammo. I think that's what gave me some pressure at 67. Some no pressure a few had it but found that ring.
Adg is issuing dealer orders.Have any new manufacturers announced 7prc brass yet? Was hoping to see some come out of Shot Show after several manufacturers hinted that it was in the works but I haven’t seen anything official.
You mean the brass is shipping to dealers?Adg is issuing dealer orders.
No, its available in sku for order. Adg has a production schedule, and they have to fit it in. How many 7prc handloaders are out there right now? Not many. It'll be 3rd quarter I bet before availability. Or it'll be a small release to evaluate the quality of the product, and demand. Then a bigger release late in the year. You mean the brass is shipping to dealers?
I was told the same thing by them. Hopefully they join in soon.Alpha said they prolly had plans on getting into the magnum brass game soon.
It's a catch 22. There are no reloaders, because there is no brass. There is very little ammo on the shelves to source brass, and it's Hornady brass, which sucks. My brother wanted to build a 7 PRC, but decided against it because there is no ammo and no brass. Hornady kind of fucked this rollout up.No, its available in sku for order. Wtf do they need lapua brass in the Ukraine fight for, is there a skills stage? Pretty sure Lake City and Black Hills is plenty good. Go figure, DOD contracts going to the nammo group.I bought 5 boxes of the 180 ELD just to break the barrel in and have brass in an emergency should Peterson and ADG get delayed and the rifle is still 3 months out so hopefully timing for brass will be ok. Forget Lapua, last I heard they were focused on 5.56 and 7.62 production only to replenish what's being used in the Ukraine.
Components are scarce, I'm sure it's a consolidated effort across the board.Wtf do they need lapua brass in the Ukraine fight for, is there a skills stage? Pretty sure Lake City and Black Hills is plenty good. Go figure, DOD contracts going to the nammo group.
Yeah, I bought 100 180 eldm ammo for the brass. It will get me by until someone legit releases some. I too would love to see Lapua, but not holding my breath on that one. ADG, Peterson would be great as well.I bought 5 boxes of the 180 ELD just to break the barrel in and have brass in an emergency should Peterson and ADG get delayed and the rifle is still 3 months out so hopefully timing for brass will be ok. The whole "war" is just Russia pushing western influence off his door step. Nato treaty breaches, chemical research labs, us political crime family corruption, ol Vlad just got tired of the shit. And now a who gives a F country in East Europe has cost us near 200B in more debt. We started it.....just saying. FJBComponents are scarce, I'm sure it's a consolidated effort across the board.
Looking forward to your velocity. My barrels are in transit to get deep fluted and cut/threaded to length. My original plan was an 18" and 20" but I'm half tempted to cut one of them 16.5" and the other 18". My barrels are obviously steel and the contour is 1.200" full length straight. Getting Murder Hornet type fluting.Barrel came in today. Ready to see what it’s all about. 18” Carbonsix.

That will end up looking great. I’ll definitely post up velocities and groups when I get some time squared away to shoot it.Looking forward to your velocity. No, backfire on YouTube talked to them about itIs Tikka offering the 7 PRC this year, anyone at shot show confirm this?
I contacted hornady they wanted me to send them in but after calling them back I decided not to waste my time because he said we will see of they chamber fine and fire with no issues if so then not effecting anything. Other guys sent some in waiting to hear what they get told
