Best device for ballistics app

Depends on what app you chose . I’m loving the Garmin
701 with AB right now . Also use second hand phone
picked up very cheap , with a couple of apps on it . In
most countries , you can get a prepaid SIM card with 12
months of credit ( enough to download apps and make
a few calls if necessary ) for $20 or less . That way you
don’t need to use your primary mobile phone in the field ,
and you have a backup phone .

The Gucci answer is FFS or Coldbore on a Trimble if you
are ok with spending a few thousand $$ .

I can get a mini ipad or kindle free from work would either one of these work well or is the dedicated phone best solution? I like the idea of having a back up phone.

I was a die hard Trimble guy. Lastshot and his hi-tech ways kept saying to get a hardened Panasonic. He was probably right.

Anyway - I blame him for me getting a cheap ass windows phone without a sim (no service) and $50 a investment. Runs Coldbore great!

However, for most my shooting is centered around multiple ranges. This the range card feature is huge. For that BallusticsARC on a iPhone is super cool... may favorite for 6mm or 6.5 guns

Despite the brand and model, a SIM is not needed at all. Just WIFI and GPS which are standard on all Windows Phones. IIRC Frank was the first one to do this with CB and I just followed the trail down.

Bought a top of the line NOMAD 6 GB with camera and HORUS ATRAG software for $250 here on the hide. Loaded CB on it for another $90. Not thousands

Let me know if any of you gentlemen want a windows phone for this. I have a very good one sitting in a box at the house. I had wanted to run ColdBore on it but never got around to it.
