You can order the ball handle with the action. I would call ARC and see if they will sell it separately. It's probably just not listed on the website.

I’m a Yuge fan of ARC & a lot of people on this thread were clamoring for a light weight version.
Personally I’d rather have the Nuke remain in production vs the Harvey Dent semi LW CDD.
I’m calling this the Coup De Dent from here on out.
I have a tikka, origin, lone peak, and CDG. I’ve posted a few videos on YouTube, but with only 50 rds on the action here’s my quick take.
It’s not quite to the level of my lone peak but it is very close! I prefer it over the origin and the tikka, but here’s my negatives, and they are absolutely not deal breakers! I’ve had to modify both my mdt acc latch and my MPA ultralight latch even with the adjustable latch. Not a huge deal, just slightly annoying.. This is with AICS MAGS, and Ted says as much, but it’s still just a little annoying. Luckily the mpa latch still has enough adjustment it works with other actions but the acc I have to swap latches back and forth if I want to use another action.(I’ve ordered aw mags 3 times now and they all get cancelled cuz “out of stock”) at a local match, another person running the CDG had maybe 1 piece of brass per stage go forward of the the line, and with the skiff of snow it was harder than other actions to locate brass, but I have that issue with my origin as well. My particular action seems to throw at the 3 o clock no matter how hard I run it. YMMV.
All in all, of the three you mentioned I would personally pick the CDG every time. The origin is my second choice and tikka is close behind. At this point it really is ford vs Chevy vs dodge though as they are all similar price and fit/function.
That’s the only negatives I’ve found, and they’re debatable as to whether they are actual negative or not, other than that this CDG is amazing in my book!
I ordered the lightweight as soon as I got the email I like it so much. The features are cool, the action is well made and smooth, it just depends on what you are looking for really.
Hopefully that helps, just go buy one and don’t look back!

Here is my struggle lol I’ve found having the action in a horizontal orientation (as if it were in a rifle level and normal) helps, make sure the ejector is positioned in so the back doesn’t get caught on the bolt face. Then jiggly wiggly

Just thought I'd share a pic from the range today- Total weight loaded with 10 rounds of 308 Win is just over 10#, bipod, scope, suppressor, included. 16" 308 Win. 1:8 twist. Loves 175 supers and 220 subs.
Now think how much smoother it would be with a coned breech.
Some systems benefit from a cone more than others. For example, a cone is pretty much required for the AI .223 conversation to feed properly.
Comparing systems that operate differently is never a good idea.
Good grief. I was fired up for the lightweight, what a downer. The original is super sexy and this thing is the ugly step sister.
This thread is one year old today. Look how far we've come, many of us have multiple actions built out, and now the lightweight action has been announced.
Its obviously a user preference thing but the Timney 2 stage has been nice.
I wonder if the weight on the lightweight is a misprint/mistake. 27oz seems really high. The Nucleus is only 3oz heavier, Mack Bros Evo 2 SS is .5oz lighter, defiance anti-x is 5oz lighter, Mack Bros Element is 7.2oz lighter. All stainless/non-titanium actions. The Element is only $75 more than the LW CDG
I think it has more to do with the weight of the Target version being so ridiculous.
True but, let’s not forget that the larger diameter bolt comes with a price. A weight price.
Oh yeah, I love it. Just pointing out how the new model could be called "lightweight" even though it's par for the course with other standard offerings.
They are fine. As are the thousands of other barrels out there. My point was rather than spend so much time looking for " the best " barrel as you have in so many threads, buy one and be done.
I bought this Preferred barrel from the px but did have one proof barrel turned for me by Fisher TC and the turnaround time was quick.
I had two hunches that have so far proven accurate:
1. The increasing market of AW cut actions might smoke the AW mag supply. That unfortunately might have been true, everyone is out of AW mags that I've been able to find.
2. ARC is going to catch up on production. I called yesterday about my short action/.473BF that I ordered mid-November and they said that the parts are already all finished, they're doing a ton of assembly now and it might be a few weeks still. That was a lot quicker than the 6 months I prepared for.
So with the nonexistent supply of AW mags, would an AX mag work if I bent the front lip to be flush?

I haven’t tried an AX mag, but looking at one a couple months ago, it looks like it would work.
I’m also anticipating some aftermarket AW mags to be released before long.
I’m actually surprised we haven’t seen a 3D printed 223 or 6 Arc dual stack AW magazine yet
I've got good news and bad news.
The action looks great in the W3!
The actions doesn't fit the W3 lol.
I'll have to do some digging to find what others have done but if I have to change chassis it won't be the end of the world.
Functionally the action seems awesome. I don't love the exposed extractor spring but we'll see how that does long term. I don't even know what could happen if dirt got in there.
There are machining marks all over this thing, is that a problem? Meh. Not to me but it helps explain where cost savings are.
The finish also doesn't seem completely even but I'm not sure if that's just needing oil on some parts. Regardless I'm planning on having it cerakoted with Accuracy International 'Salted Carmel'. (Im not actually sure what that color is called so I just made it up)
The action feels a lot like a seekins action, at least the ones I've messed with. Doesn't seem to have a ton of slop, even all the way open.
For a 3 lug, the CDG seems to be super smooth even without a trigger.
This is just my "Hot Take" so take it for what it is...
...Now you guys can roast me...

@Jackomason - What is causing interference to the W3, trigger hanger?? Shouldn't be to hard to fix that.
It seems some came out with marks and most did not. Mine for example doesn’t have any marks that I can find and the finish is very nice.

Forward of the trigger there's a screw. I edited my post to add a link on how to fix it.. not too bad and should even give me some practice on the mill.
It looks like your tang has similar marks, the rest of my action is covered in machining marks. it's not going to ruffle my feathers but I know some people would care more about that.
I had to do that with a bravo. 7 axis dremel to remove some material ( the high stuff to the right of the screw head) and replace screw with a flat head and countersink the hole a bit to accommodate the flat head screw.. After adjusting the hanger I had to remove some from the back of the mag well as well.
The lower material is the right hight though, right?
I'll be chambering it on Monday. Reamer should be here on Saturday.
