The thin blue line seems to be getting thinner. Wyoming of all places? Maybe I’m black pilled but my view of law enforcement consists of morally upright individuals upholding morally sensible laws. I’ve always thought immorality among law enforcement was reprehensible, but I’m also aware of how tough the job is. And I still believe in law and order. Tough line to walk, hence the thin blue line. I understand that. But look at the circumstances that made her a “trespasser.” The point of adding the link to stupid laws illustrates that, apparently, LE isn’t obliged to enforce laws that aren’t deemed appropriate. In this instance, a trespassing charge seems wholly inappropriate.

Correct.

The real problem is that people who enforce the trespassing law against one person on one day do not enforce arson and looting laws against other persons on other days because that does not fit the agenda of their leaders.

Tyranny thrives not only by enforcing unjust laws but also, and probably more effectively, by enforcing valid laws unevenly.

Police have discretion in most cases. Discretion doesn't mean you get a pass whenever you want.

Refuse to leave after trespass = arrest in every jurisdiction I'm aware of.

As far as I know there are specific LAWS on the books about that. I dont think a mask "mandate" is a LAW voted on by the legislature. A "mandate" holds no legal persuasion IMO.... I find it kinda funny... we use to get in trouble for NOT going to school. While I think her motives to go to class and learn were genuine, she learned an even more important lesson out side of the class room. Reality is a good teacher.

If I turn the memory wheels back a couple decades, I do recall a kid that got expelled from from our hs and was trespassed by the sro. Homeboy thought it was a good idea to come back the next week and hang with his friends in the parking lot. They definitely arrested him for trespassing.

The cops weren't enforcing any vax or mask mandate. The Principal suspended/expelled her and she refused to leave. Lots of violations in a school will get you disciplined without involving the police. Refusal to leave isn't one of them. They gave her every opportunity to leave without arrest, and that to me is exercising the limit of their discretion. Not there there aren't fubar cops who abuse their power, but I don't see it here.

It is the principal and school board who deserve the full measure of your righteous ire. The cops were the ones handcuffed in this situation and clearly did not want to do this to the young girl. If a student commits real crimes the cops get involved, although I would say that this is about the lowest level possible. Crap rolls downhill and the cops are at the bottom.

I agree with this assessment, for sure. I’ll reiterate that I support law enforcement and the rule of law. My righteous ire isn’t directed at anything in particular. Instead, it’s an overall feeling of incredulity as I watch everything go to shit. And as far as I can tell, this can be said for most of the folks I’ve talked to about it. It’s not just the cops enforcing junk rules, it’s not just the school board making up the junk rules, it’s not just Brandon. It’s the whole damn thing. This falls outside of the scope of what I’m okay with. Along with the father in Loudon county. Along with failure to prosecute a large chunk of degenerates who violated the liberties of millions of people all summer last year. It’s a bad look. Support for law enforcement in these areas where things like this happen is very likely to go down even more.

Everything to do with not wearing a mask warranting a trespass charge. Shit rule by the school board. To build a different argument, almost all I hear on the Hide is to stand up for your liberties. Sometimes that means being arrested. What if some entity decreed that some of the guns we own were suddenly illegal and here they come take them? What’s the answer? LE can have them? Its not an indictment of the police. It is an indictment of our system. Rather than let her go mask free, the system throws her in jail. The police did their job, but its the police, the school, our entire way of life that is out of whack.

Oh I'm not discounting her standing up to the mask bullshit. But this wasn't about masks. She thought they were bluffing about trespassing. Turns out they had the better hand. I guarantee you she's not the first student to be arrested for trespassing on school grounds.

I do not recall anyone here endorsing this. And you just provided another example of LE discriminating against people with opinions they do not like while using written laws as a flimsy shield. In the case you cited it was against "another n!##@" and in the recent case against "another deplorable". What do you think is behind Garland's "investigations"? Honest concern about the rule of law? You got to be kidding me.

These cases are also another example of school administrations being totally out of control. They are unable to create a constructive learning environment by leadership but are quick to flex their authoritarian muscles.

I have done hundreds of 'illegal' things as a kid and pupil. The only reason why this did not make the news is because I respected the 'authorities' enough to know where the limit is. Would I have respected a pussy principal who calls the cops for someone wearing or not wearing something? Probably not. The teachers and our classmates would take care of these issues with the backing of the parents.

We had some characters in the neighborhood who would call the cops when us kids "BROKE THE LAW". Eventually, they got fined for wasting public resources with stupid shit. Just to be clear, we did not deal drugs in public or were entertaining ourselves with drive-by shootings. We were playing soccer for 15 minutes after school on public lawns that you were not supposed to play on. Rang all door bells at once on the apartment buildings we passed on our way home and stuff like that.

A long time ago in a neighborhood far far away, and jackass neighbor served a young man trespass notice for mowing over the property line. When he again mowed the lawn, the police were summoned and the young man's father told the police that they could arrest the young man over his dead body.

'Hey you were trespassing, you got served notice"

As if laws are never abused so as to establish conformity or to benefit those in power. SO what if she was trespassing. If you truly oppose the mandates, you'd get behind this person or you can cower in the corner until the come for you.

There is no law on the books that student cannot wear a bikini to school either but school policy "mandates" that they cannot and if they do they will be asked to leave.
If they do not leave they will be charged with trespassing.
If they do not leave after trespassing charge they will be arrested for said trespassing; not for violating the dress code "mandate" of no bikinis

Good thing there is not a mandate that you must have chicken shit on your head to enter said school.....some here might feel the abscence of said chicken shit on the head, is an arrestable offense. Despite the lunacy of it.

But.....i can assure you, there is a blue uniform out there that would arrest you for it. 100% positive of that!

I know, i know......arrested for tresspass, not the chicken shit!

If someone refused to leave your property after being fined for trespassing; the next step is for them to be arrested for said trespassing.
