My guess is ELR, a way to adjust the front of your rifle up without having to reduce the width of your bipod for better stability.
You know, that actually crossed my mind the other day, along with the possibility of that paying for all the turret fixes for the G2’s, sort of how the prices of their cheap scopes are so high to pay for the (minimum of 1) replacement when it fails. But, then my ADD kicked-in, and I went off chasing another squirrel, and didn’t think about it again.
Your stability takes a fairly large hit no matter what. You're essentially putting a monopod on top of a bipod.
I wish they'd get the damn Ruger RPR trigger out there....
Hopefully TT just improves their reliability & durability.
Uhhhhh thats definitely not how bipods work. You run the legs out and the footprint gets WIDER. Do you even shoot?

The ckye pod is dumb, but even when you pull those legs out that are on an angle the footprint is wider in the same position.
Regardless, even when comparing it to a design like that which no other bipod I'm aware of used you're still introducting tippyness on the same axis. Literally every other bipod gets wider when you extend the legs.
I think he means when you bring the feet together to get taller. Saying that you can leave the legs spread wide with this on top to get the same height you would via bringing the legs together.
It makes sense insomuch as the basic idea. However, if you're shooting elr, you'll have time and the need to build up some sort of taller base for the bipod rather than stack something on top.
So now you've maxed out the leg length by extending them and your footprint as as wide as it can go. But you are still too short so you close up the footprint and the bipod gets taller. Just say you don't know how the bipod works and move on.
cmp70306, This would be bad for ELR. You become less stable as you move higher on the apex point of your bipod legs. That's why the Ckye pod isn't meant for ELR and the bipods that are put the rifle much lower on the leg intersection point.
I was referring to the fact that if you extend the legs all the way out to their furthest position at the lowest angle the only way to gain any additional height is by pushing the legs closer together.
Is that device more stable than pushing the legs together? No idea, but with the size of it it wouldn’t work for PRS, too heavy for NRL hunter, F-Class already has the wide bipods on flat ranges so ELR was the only possible discipline I could possibly see it having any use.
That was my thoughts but I haven’t tested it to know if there was a sweet spot that you could go up an inch or two and still be more stable than reducing the width of the legs.

One in 350 legend specifically. Im guessing they finally noticed how much money exists in hunting rifles..with the new stuff they're offering.

Would have been awesome a year ago..when Bergara also had a gap in the 350 market, and the only thing available on the market was like digging through a trash can for the least filthy piece of trash.
Now Bergara already announced its new Stoke rifles, taking AICS mags too. Gonna be a tougher sell for the tikka, more money upfront for proprietary mags, non rem-700 action.
They announced this thing a few years ago. I thought they'd never release it...but yes too late. Garmin just crushed everyone.
If their claims are legitimate about the chronographs ability to measure and display true BC, it'll have its own niche in the chronograph market. I'm skeptical but I could be wrong.
Got to aim it, got to have a trigger for a suppressor, it's large and well, it's Caldwell. Some of the BC stuff is cool but not worth the trade off to save $100 over the Garmin, IYAM.
Plus the name is stupid.

The Sierra Wilderness and Extreme models Bergara dropped are interesting too. I could totally see myself buy one of those.
Zero interest in $1500 Tikkas. They aren’t worth that.

For the $2k to $2200 range the Razor Gen 3 is pretty much king and you can't get any better for the money.
But if they are smoking crack and thinking a list price of $4799 is anywhere near realistic they have a big surprise coming.
I have a Gen 3 and paid about $2k for it and it's great
For $4k I'm going with the S&B 5-45 or 10-60 or the ZCO 8-40 scopes.
S&B had a brief moment of clarity and reduced the prices of their scopes back down to realistic
But I'll bet they get greedy once they start selling again and want insane prices.
Single distributor in the USA doesn't help much either.
S&B brief moment of clarity likely coincided with a flood of High Power model warranty claims , it was probably the most repaired top-tier optic on market bar none and then some
That caldwell chrono. It was interesting 2 years ago (or wherever the old thread was). I agree that because garmin (and to a lesser extent andiscan) has some great sized and featured products, they were just too late in releasing them. (Them being caldwrll and LR)
My theory is, (and im probably wrong) that caldwell and labradar had these products ready for retail 3 to 6 month ago, and deliberately held out for SHOT.
Garmin marketing probably got a sniff in the wind about others and said "lets just release it now, lets not wait". Give that marketing person a raise.

I don’t know about the other stuff, but I already spoke to John-Kyle about the CDG long action. They inlet for it just have to put it in the comments when you order. Probably going to catch up on the site after Shot if I had to guess.

its infuriating when these companies try so hard to come up with new dumb shit when they cant even keep their basic shit in stock. its probably great problem to have as a manufacturer but as a consumer it royally pisses me off when you cant even get basic mags or bottom metals
It's just like how every couple months I'll see a Federal video about a new varmint load or that 30 super carry nonsense. Just give me primers and 12ga birdshot. Stop trying to make new stuff.
