Do you think Tikka would ever offer a heavier profile barrel for the T1x?
This chassis seem's very well thought out and the accessories all look good, just not sure how well balanced the T1x version would be.
Maybe with the longer forend, weights and a suppressor it'll balance ok but a heavier and/or longer barrel would be a welcome addition.
So these are my opinions based on what I’ve learned about Tikka. Not a statement of fact or any official word from Beretta/Tikka.
But no, I don’t think they will. The chassis is good, I’m going to buy one when I can. But there were a lot of misses that the industry is going to very loudly point out.
No new barrel contours, no new competition chamberings, and if you use the tikka internal weights say goodbye to all your mlok slots for what? 3lbs?
The tikka focus has always been and will always be hunting. And that’s awesome. I just wish they’d follow Bergaras lead and sell actions and barreled actions.
Hopefully the aftermarket will strike and make some quality kit for it. Gray Ops could definitely make something for it.
I don’t really wanna get too deep into it because there are things that aren’t public and I don’t know if they will be or when. Just gonna have to wait and see what they say at Shot Show.

Figured as much, I don't see the T1x model getting a proper forend balance point with the factory barrel.
I re-barreled my T1x with a 25.5" heavy barrel and even that struggles to balance in a chassis without a lot of additional weights up front.
The loss of Mlok slots with the internal weight's is definitely stupid but I imagine there will be a fairly simple work around.
The chassis and accessories for the most part look pretty well thought out, not giving up much to the likes of an MDT ACC, centerfire models should be pretty appealing (if price is right).
The T1x model just might not land is my initial thoughts, at least not be as good as it could've been with a better barrel option.
I don't think MOS can be recut. But I'm not 100% sure. Will find out asap.
Except for the optic being more narrow and some other features, putting this optic on a plate pretty much defeats the purpose of the new cut.
It takes all sheer force off the screws from a normal type optic mounting system. All the screws do with the new pattern is hold the wedge down. The wedge + the other surfaces are what hold the optic and take all the force. It's actually leaps and bounds better than any system out there currently.
Basically, the 1 year stops anyone (that aimpoint/glock decide to go after) from cutting slides for it. After that, it will be open to other manufacturers. I'm sure you'll see shops cutting slides for it. But, I don't think the optic will available individually for the first year. So, you'd have to buy a glock pistol with the optic and then have other slides cut for it. If the other slides have the proper material to cut.
Yes, it's going to seem like kinda a step backwards since it's not going to work with current plates and such. But in the long run, either this footprint or something similar is going to be the standard going forward.
Plate systems and screws holding optics down just became a very, very distant second place with this new cut.
especially since for those who have "legacy optics" it should be pretty easy to make an adapter plate that goes from COA to RMR/RMSc etc, and that will probably end up stronger because with full access before install you can ensure proper threadlock, etc
Yea, I'd imagine you could must make a COA plate with a "wall" near the rear that the tapered block would tighten up against and force the plate forward. Basically imagine the bottom 1/8" of the COA optic cut off as the plate.
You'd still have the current optic sheer forces on the screws holding the legacy optic to the COA plate. I'd have to defer to an actual engineer if it would change anything (for better or worse) from what current mounting options exist.
But yea, I'd much rather have a plate that fits the COA cut to attach and optic than the currently mounting plates/systems we currently have.
I’d like to know if CZ is doing anything new on the 457 22lr front. Like something with a more balanced barrel right out of the gate. Or just a barreled action so we can drop in a chassis of choice kinda like Bergara does. If any of you going remember this let me know as I’ll be at SCI instead of shot. Thanks!
So far it’s as expected. Nothing earth shattering, innovative, or interesting coming out. Just the same old rehashed shit the industry has been rehashing for the last 8-10 years or so.

The Ace chassis is very light in the back. So I would guess with a couple of Gray Ops weights and your heavy barrel it would balance pretty well.
Oh and dont forget its at least 6 months out for the gayest of the gay!!! But, for a "pre-order" fee of only 95% we will put you on the list right behind the gaytubers.
I’ve considered buying my way into the shooting market before. It’s a great scam where you can over promise, under deliver, and get interest free loans in perpetuity by using the term “pre-order” in your advertising.
The only bigger scam I know of is prepaid gift cards.
Can’t wait to see all the “new” ar-15 models that have pushed the design limits by making the safety selector require .000000008 less degrees of travel to go to fire. This allows you to engage faster through your iron sights mounted on your red dot mounted on your scope, all at 45 degrees offset of each other. Oh, and a M-lok hand guard so you can mount 1913 rail sections to it so you can actually mount other shit.

You mentioned new products having gayer names, which they might well have. But it struck me that you were talking about gayer names while having the name bigfatcock in a forum full of guys.

Rumor has it, Emil with the Capstone Group, will be announcing Berger's new launch of a A-Tip like clone... coined the "B-Line" it will feature a micro engraved B on the aluminum Meplat to get around Hornady's patent.

I heard there was going to be a new Vudu, but this isn't what I expected.
That look interesting, no mention of the reticle pattern, heard moa, but not the pattern.
The reticle is on the website and it reminds me of the Leupold TMR in MOA.
This scope solves no capability gaps AFAIK.

True, The 3-9 is ok, I would rather see a 1-4/6 for a GP AR, but oh well. Actually just ordered a 1-4.5 Luppy 4HD
I am saying this with the thought that it works and is rugged and reliable. I really like ACOGs on ARs, this could potentially be a better ACOG. It has a better eye box and more magnification then the fixed 4 power. It comes in at 16 ounces and has a small form factor. If it works I would prefer this kind of setup vs a 1-8 LPVO.
I think this is a good take, especially if there''s a good provision for a piggyback lightweight dot, or when used in conjunction with something offset (irons or dot)
the result for an optic with an A-cut to <insert footprint> isn't going to be any different than it is now really, just less likely to encounter error on installation (screw length, not enough threadlocker, etc). I think the beauty of the system is that it is an actual improvement, will be cheaper and easier to machine for manufacturers, and should be trivially easy to make adapter plates for if you want an older optic that wont have the new A-cut
so respectfully, I disagree with up thread, this actually does have the capability to be an actual game-changer, and is being introduced by a pair of companies with enough commercial market share to make a meaningful impact.
MDT just announced some new products. Most interesting to me is the updated Send it level.
1x LPVO are a bit harder to make work well and look good at 1x.
With top or offset mounted RDS’ being so common now, you can just do away with the low end and make a very compact optic.
This is essentially a variable power acog.
It might not be successful because a lot of people think they should be able to just buy an LPVO and use it for everything.
But practically speaking, this makes a lot of sense.
Super excited about the LSS Gen 3. Looking forward to see more pictures but it could be a really good option for a tactical rifle build.
